I was just recently in the Brick and Archie was helping me and she went above and beyond to make sure that my transaction went smoothly. I have dealt with the Brick for many years and I have always been left with a bad taste in my mouth after every transaction and I always get mad at myself for going back, but this time was the first time that I walked away feeling happy. I had a very disappointing experience with The Brick and would not shop here again. We purchased a couch at the end of March and were explicitly told by the in-store manager that delivery would take a maximum of three weeks, if not sooner. After hearing nothing, we had to follow up ourselves--only to be told the delivery wouldn't happen until the end of June. This was a huge discrepancy from what was promised at the time of purchase. After raising the issue, we were offered the floor model instead. Given that this was already due to their error and that a floor model has been used by many customers, I requested a discount, which was declined. When the couch was finally delivered, it arrived with multiple black marks on it--completely unacceptable for a full-price item. To make matters worse, after sending three follow-up emails with no response, I was essentially ghosted. I only received a reply after contacting a different customer service channel, at which point I was told they "never received" my emails. The only resolution offered was an $80 refund--which isn't even close to reasonable given the condition of the couch and the overall experience. (Not even 10% discount). Between the misleading delivery timeline, lack of accountability, poor communication, and damaged product, this has been an extremely frustrating experience. Damages to my flooring. They never bothered to use any sort of protective cloth for my floors when hauling out the old washer and dryer. There were 2 guys. 1 guy removed his footwear. 1 guy waltzed right in w his shoes. Upon delivery, the dresser drawers would not close, and the manager stated that all Silas dressers were defective but refused to provide a refund or adequate remedy. Do not purchase from The Brick. My experience has been extremely disappointing. All of the items I purchased arrived damaged, and despite multiple attempts to get help, no one has properly addressed my concerns. I contacted the store directly, their corporate office and never received a call back. When I went to the store in person, the representative said she would "talk to someone," but instead just stood around and didn't talk to anyone she just kept offering me $100 off to get me to leave. She told me I would see the refund within 48 hours however, it has now been over a week, and I still have not received any refund. They have repeatedly promised that a manager would call me, but no one ever does. It seems that management simply does not care about resolving customer issues. The Brick is extremely fast at getting you to sign up for Flexiti payments, but completely fails when it comes to customer service or accountability once they've made the sale. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone, and that's why I'm sharing my story to warn others. It saddens me to see that this seems to be a common issue and that so many customers are left feeling the same way. read more

I purchased a mattress and frame from the Heritage Meadows location. The proess was stupid; when arranging the delivery I received a call from someone from the Brick to arrange for delivery of the frame. Immediately upon arranging that delivery I received a call from the exact same person to coordinate a delivery for the mattress. I requested that both items be delivered on the same day and time but this was denied. I received the frame on 2/23/2025; the gentlemen who delivered it were polite and cordial and offered to set it up. I declined at this time as there is no space in my home to have the constructed frame as well as the old king sized frame and mattress, anticipating that it would be constructed by the team that delivered my mattress the next day. The mattress came the next day. The delivery driver and swamper carried the mattress and quickly dumped it into my home. I asked them to construct the frame and they said they had no time, stating that the team that delivered the item was responsible for this. I attempted to explain that it was not their fault as there was no space in the home to set it up upon delivery, but this team was gone as quickly as they could get out after refusing to telephone their dispatch. They also refused to remove my old mattress. Although they performed really poorly, I won't blame them for this; while I had articulated that I wanted to spend the $15 for mattress removal while I was making the purchase this was not put on my invoice. Finally, after the delivery I physically drove to the Heritage Meadow location to speak with the manager. She was apathetic at best and charged me to remove the mattress and gave me a mattress bag with the instructions that I make sure that the mattress be in the bag before the team arrives. She was unable to provide me with any details on when this removal would take place. Overall, the salesperson who sold me the mattress was okay to deal with. The delivery team that came on 2/23/2025 was great. The second delivery team and the manager at Heritage Meadows Brick location performed unsatisfactorily. Will not purchase anything from the Brick again ever. I was concerned that maybe it was something I had done but feel very validated after reading just a few reviews from the last month that this is specific to the Brick and perhaps more specifically this location. read more

Absolutely horrific service. I had a large sectional delivered. The two men called me, barked at me to come downstairs. I went down, they said "where do you want it"?. I said, in my condo? They brought it up, and dropped it in my living room. I asked them to take it out of the packing and assemble it, they refused and said "they had another delivery". I am a single woman, I then had to go and buy an exactoknife, and it took me over an hour to unpack it, and assemble. Almost threw my back out lifting the couches to put the legs on. The attachment for the sectional still isn't great. It needs two people to do it. There was also a black marker on the couch, approx 4 inches, in a very obvious area. I called the store and they were very apologetic, but then the same awful men came to get the huge amount of garbage After I demanded it. I had to wait all day to get this confirmed. I should have returned the part with the mark, but I didn't want to deal with this company anymore. The two men were obviously East Indian, and they didn't realize that I, as a pale white woman, knew exactly what they were saying as they laughed and came to my place. At 5 pm. 9 hours after my delivery, and my day off completely ruined. Sucks when the white woman has worked in India. They came in, barged past me, took photos of the furniture I put together, then ripped past me with the plastic and debris, almost hitting me in the face. I called to have that man fired. As is, I have a damaged couch, ruined my day, multiple calls... and I'll get nothing for it, except maybe the delivery charge of 89.$ Don't bother. Absolutely horrible. read more

We visited the Deerfoot Meadows location to look for furniture for our home. We were pounced on by a sales associate within 10 feet of the door. We explained we were there to browse and proceed on our way. The same associate stalked us around the furniture section, hiding behind pillars or other pieces of furniture. We asked us to give us space but she continued. We eventually blew our tops, told her she wouldn't be getting a sale from us and left. This is not the first time we've experienced this at The Brick. Brick Heritage Meadows Terrible customer service and very disappointing experience. We purchased our couch in full back in November, and specifically requested a delivery date of February 2nd, which was confirmed by the sales person and written on our order confirmation. The sales person also agreed they would reach out in January to coordinate the delivery. We received a call at the beginning of January again confirming our delivery date and time for February 2nd. We received a call today (4 days prior to the confirmed delivery date) letting us know pieces of our couch are out of stock and the soonest delivery date is now 'middle of February'. At the very least I would have appreciated some proactive communication and offered an actual solution, not just a delayed vague timeline with no real accountability. As a customer, the bare minimum of a business is to keep your commitments to customers. If you can't deliver on time, you need to make sure you're doing everything possible to fix the situation which was not done. Very unimpressed. Fraudulent and misleading warranty seems to be the Bricks bread and butter. Buying an extended warranty that supposedly covers "any and all damage" as the sales lady stated, and that it covers 100% of the value if it can't be repaired or replace due to being discontinued, turns out to not be the case at all. The brick says they'll call to sort it out but never do, and conveniently there is never a manager to speak with. I will be putting a fraud claim through on my Mastercard to get the warranty price back and will never shop at this sleazy company again. Buyers beware. read more

I don't know where to be begin.... What a nightmare!! It's been just over 2 weeks since taking delivery of my new 'stuff'. Half of it showed up when it was supposed to. I am still missing night table and lucked into getting my bedsheets only because the delivery guys had an extra item after their last delivery and were nice enough to drop them off that evening. Afterall, what can you expect when they do not use anything like a waybill or anything that I can verify against my invoice to confirm I'm getting everything I paid for. The last time I asked customer service why they missed a delivery date, I was ignored, belittled then dismissed by transferring me to another province. In my opinion, split delivery is much more than Grade-A Lip Service, it's false advertising. From this experience, they have really shown me that they not only lack the process and structure to be capable enough to meet customer delivery commitments, but simply choose not to honor them. Everything was great until they had my $$. (Heritage Meadows Calgary) Purchased a King Bed, Mattress cover and 2 KING pillows (I thought). The mattress cover they sold me for $290 doesn't fit well at all, but I had to use it to keep the mattress warranty. They had had me try a special cooling pillow. I liked that it was a dark color, so wouldn't show stains, and decided what the heck, I'd buy 2. I specifically asked for King size. When the delivery came there were 2 itty bitty pillows. The box measured about 23" wide. I thought no big deal, I would just return them. There was no mention or anything on the receipt about final sale. I figured if it wasn't used and seeing as it was their mistake, all would be fine. I had decided to purchase some other items including a low profile box spring as the mattress was super deep. The next morning I arrived at The Brick, still a mostly satisfied customer only to be told they wouldn't return the pillows that were unopened and still in the original boxes. Then finally after I got heated with the manager he said they'd exchange them for an inferior set of white pillows in the same brand, that were "King sized". What this told me is they were not concerned about hygiene as they would exchange, not return, and they knew all along the pillows they had put on my invoice did not come in King size. There excuse was I should have known. Sheez. All they ever showed me was the sample pillow. How was I to know from a sku number the item on the invoice was not a King size and was not available in King. Why anyone would ever by a tiny pillow for a King is beyond me, but I had specifically asked. Long story longer, I have disputed the charge on my credit card and called corporate office and texted the salesman, notifying them of their error. It was their mistake, not mine. So BUYER BEWARE! There is no reasoning with the manager of this store. They just don't care. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. Their delivery system sucks. Took multiple tries to even arrange a date to bring the washer/dryer. Then they bring it and install it WRONG - the cold setting was scalding hot water! The second load in, it started flooding the room. So landlord called them a ton of times to no response until finally they respond and say they'll just bring a new unit. Once again it's a huge hassle to even get a date for them to bring it. They give us a time window we had to waste the whole day, they finally pull up outside and sit in the truck and don't even knock and then just leave!! Never came back. With my recent purchase, I have experienced the most horrible delivery and customer services at the Calgary Shawnessy store. I scheduled a window for delivery from 8 to 11 in the morning on Friday, a working day, and they could not make it. Moreover, nobody contact me during the whole time, and I have to contact the store to track their progress. All I heard back from their rude customer service was, there will be no guarantee for their delivery service, they come whenever they can and want. I can only accept it as a fact. And I have to meet their timetable and rearranging my own business. If I don't accept it, they will delay my delivery until the next week. I have learnt my brand new lesson from them, and I never knew a big branch store can operate so poorly like this. Three strikes! I am completely delighted with the new sectional sofa I just purchased from The Brick last week. However, when a business gets petty over the incidentals, it certainly takes some of the initial joy out of the process. I first went into The Brick on a Tuesday and met with a delightful sales person who provided me a quote on the sofa I liked but followed it immediately with an invitation to a special VIP day on the Friday where the price would be 30% off. This implied that I should wait the few days because I'd get a better deal at the end of the week. However, when I returned with my VIP invitation and requested the revised quote, the price was higher than it had been on the Tuesday! Ridiculous! Fortunately, the young woman honoured her original quote or that would have been the end of it all. She then offered me the usual expensive add-ons like insurances and special fabric treatments. I declined them all. With a can of Scotchguard I can protect my couch for considerably less than a couple of hundred dollars! So, I told her that and she said that they sell Scotchguard and I could purchase a can to be delivered along with my sofa. Well ... it wasn't Scotchguard that was delivered, it was some other product and, unfortunately, it arrived with a broken pump mechanism. So, I immediately returned to the store and asked for a refund because (a) it was broken and (b) it wasn't the product I had requested. The sales person on duty that day assured me it was exactly the same and Scotchguard except it was a Brick product so they couldn't use the Scotchguard trade name. I still didn't want it but she refused to take it back, apparently it was a 'final sale' and I could only exchange it. Ridiculous yet again! I'd just dropped a couple of thousand dollars and this woman was arguing over a $19.00 product I didn't want in the first place. Reluctantly I brought it back home with me but also stopped en route to purchase a can of Scotchguard. Bottom line: these two products are NOT the same! Clearly Scotchguard is superior. Third and final strike was when I mentioned a chip on one of the couch legs (it came that way) and they offered to 'sell' me a cover up crayon! Again, I'd just spent a substantial amount of money and found this particularly petty. So ... to The Brick and other franchise stores, if you have a happy customer, i.e. happy with their main purchase, don't screw it up with minor incidentals. It leaves a bad taste. read more

I went to their location in Calgary Heritage Meadows Way SE, I ordered a bedroom set, they told me some items are not available atm, and the estimate deliver for the missing items 2-3 weeks! so I waited 3 weeks. And yet I never received a follow up message or a call! so I decided to visit them. - When I told them it's been 3 weeks and I didn't receive an update for the ETA! They told me that they never "promised" that it's going to get delivered within 3 weeks! - They said we gave you a rough estimate. I told them I am a 100% positive that the sale person said "2-3" Weeks! they replied "Did he say I promise???" I was like no! why would I need a promise if someone from their sales team tells me it will get delivered between 2-3 weeks? I didn't buy it off Kijiji! I walked to your store and you told me 2-3 weeks! Anyways! long-short! I asked them should I wait another 2-3 weeks ? They said sorry we can't give you an estimate! So I asked them to cancel the whole purchase for the bedroom set! and come and pick up the bed frame! I don't appreciate the way you do business! so they decided to charge me 25% stocking fees! even though it's not my problem! I ordered a sofa but turned out too big to get in to my house and they refused to return the sofa unless I pay 25%. I told them it is my customer right to return the item as this is not what I expected. apparently the operation manager told me that it is not on their policy to return if the plastic over is open that she don't know anything about Alberta customer bill. I turned the TV on heard a pop got a black line down the middle and lines at the bottom and there's a little crack at the bottom middle of the screen. What a joke this place is, I regret buying from here and wish i never did. I wish i could do zero stars. Bought a dishwasher from them and within the first 3 weeks noticed it wasn't working properly. So called Amana to come fix it, repair guy comes and says he needs parts. So 3 weeks later I call amana to find out he didn't even request the parts. Now they start looking for the parts for me. Month 1 goes by, no parts, Month 2 goes by, no parts. Now i am upset and tell them to replace the dishwasher. Well now 1 month goes by and still no call to replace, and now on the 2nd month they finally agree to replace. They say first week of May, then middle of May, now End of May. So i bought this dishwasher in Novermber, warranty is for 1 year. And it will almost be June before its replaced. Half the warranty...really horrible service. Bought a recliner along with 3 yr furniture warranty. Soon after it arrived we realized it was defective and alerted the Brick who sent out someone from a furniture repair co. to assess it. He wasn't sure if it could be fixed but believed it might be about $350 plus delivery charges to and from their location. The Brick said "they couldn't fix it" and gave a series of offers, not close to the value of the chair, as apparent reparation. Dealing with this company has been disappointing, time and money wasting. We will pursue whatever avenues of remedy that are available. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE I am very disappointed with our experience with the Brick. I would give this a negative review if there was an option. We ordered A fridge, oven, and dish washer from this location back on June 24, 2020. We still have not received our fridge. When ordering the fridge with the sales rep Jonathan, we made it clear that our current fridge is breaking down monthly and were dealing with spoilage. He assured us we would see the fridge by the end of July. When we get to the end of July, we had to phone the brick to see if where our fridge was. They told us the delivery date was moved to end of August. August comes they say now end of September then October. To obtain these updates we had to call in each time where I was hung up on at one point by Jonathan, and then switched over to the manager Mia. She told us we would receive a $100 credit on the order (which we still have not received) and that she would update us with any progress, which she has not. We have had to call in each time to get updates and that is only when she is willing to take my calls. In the meantime, we are still dealing with spoilage. The last interaction we were informed that the fridge would not be in till January. This is shocking that the fridge would not be ready till January when we ordered back in June, but if you went online and ordered it today, the estimated delivery time is January 23rd. This does not make sense to me. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication, respect, and overall customer service this location has shown to us. I strongly discourage ppl from going to this store. I went to the store Calgary Beacon Hill Location. I have worked wit Maz sales associate. I ordered a bed frame and sectional sofa. I was told by sales associate that everything would be assembled. When delivery happened those guys told me we should not do assembly. I went to the store and lovely manager told be it will be fixed. same day @ 5 pm delivery guys came and did assembly of bed. Next morning I found bed frame was set up very wobbly. couch I assembled my self even though I was told everything will be done but miscommunication happened, but arm was wobbly also. After that I went to the store again and had a conversation with operation manager Blessie. That's the point where all troubles started. She told me we would give u in-store credit, I told her when I bought it no one told me, she said we send Emal. When she checked her system it was found Email was not sent. She said I have to pay for delivery and disassemble myself even drivers assembled it. So they do not provide service which is minimally expected like their commitment. read more

I ordered a tv back in November 2020 with a Black Friday deal from the brick online shipped to this store. Original estimate of delivery was December 8th. This kept slipping and slipping and slipping with every phone call update from the store now bringing us to basically February. They had my money this entire time and nothing to show. The tv showed back up on The Bricks website with delivery Feb 1st and for $300 more than what I paid. After another phone call saying delivery slipped again to middle of February I decided to spend $300 more for the tv on Amazon which shipped to me in 2 days. To add insult to injury, I had to go all the way to the store to get my refund for my ONLINE order at the brick... unbelievable. The brick store manager offered nothing to me other than compromising on a lesser TV they actually had in stock (twice offered). To sum it up, the service and reliability I received from this company to get a tv drove me to wanting to spend $300 more to avoid continuing to give them my business at all this time, and for the long term.
