Great new menu! It has been awhile since I was last here. We brought a big group on a Wednesday night. They gave us a large table in corner so we had the area all to ourselves. We started with a beer flight. About 50 choices to choose from. I tried the hard cider and it was delicious! The menu is more expansive with appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. Plus they had a seasonal menu. I decided to try the butternut squash ravioli and a side salad. The salad was great with lots of toppings. The ravioli were delicious. The pork belly was tough. I think they had cooked and then refried so it was too hard to chew. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals at the table. Ordering wraps, pulled pork sandwiches and the pierogi platter. Loved my pretzel, posh grilled cheese, and fries! Fries were perfectly crispy and tender, delicious! Recommend the locally-brewers bottled root beer. We sat outside as we'd just come from a loud graduation event and needed a quiet spot to rest and recover a bit over a late lunch. Our server was perfect and we got our food super quickly. I'll state the obvious...This is a BREWERY first. The beer is among the best available in this region. The Brewmaster here knows his art, and it shows. The restaurant is a nice aside that serves above average pub fare . The new menu is an improvement whereas the old one suffered through covid and admittedly fell below par. We sit at the bar when we go there and have always found the bartender's to be pleasant and on spot. If you're looking for the bar experience, there are other establishments in the area to get your mixed drinks and bar food. Come for the beer! The food is a nice accompaniment. read more

Stopped here on our way to Pittsburgh. Always check yelp for suggestions for somewhere different. We found Brew Kettle on yelp. Was so glad we stopped here. They have a large outdoor patio which they allowed us to let our dog in and Alex our waitress even brought him water. Alex was so friendly and helpful with suggestions. Their fall menu was out and everything sounded so good. I had the roasty toasty sandwich. It was delicious. Husband had pulled pork and wings. We picked salad as our side. We met some family here for dinner on a Saturday. When I was here a couple months ago, they were only seating part of the restaurant due to a staff shortage and it looks like it was the same this time. Someone asked us how many we had in our party and then she went and put 2 high chairs at a table since we had 2 children with us and she never came back to seat us. We didn't even know where she went. Someone else came over and asked for our name to put on the wait list and then about 15 minutes later they asked if anyone has come by yet. We pointed out the table with the high chairs and the lady told us to go ahead and have a seat. When our server came over, she asked if we seated ourselves. It was all just odd. Will never go back. Hostess was not very friendly, barely spoke. Went in and ask for a table for 3. There were only 3 or 4 tables filled, place was empty. After 14 minutes we went back in and a waitress was about to give us a table but told us to hold on for a moment. She went to clear a table and hostess came back and told us there is still a 45 minute wait. We were never told 45 minutes in first place and can not understand why wait was so long when place was practically empty. It was ridiculous. My daughter and I had been out for a day of pampering and it was quite late about 8:20 in the evening and we wanted to eat good food this is not the place if I could add a picture, I would tried on my brussels' sprouts twice they didn't cut the ends off. They were hard as rocks and cold was disgusting. My so-called Reuben with pastrami was like shoe leather. The bread was like stone and that dressing. I don't know what that was, but it was gross the pretzel and cheese the cheese sauce was gritty and nasty. Granite there was another person with me who had salad and chili and was OK but you really can't fuck that up the bill came to $61 and something hell I could've went to a really high-end restaurant with the both of us and ate better than that for that , so disappointed will never be back . read more

Still not good. I wanted to give them another try so I stopped in for the 2019 Lorain County Burger Battle. Leaving two stars because the bar staff were personable and I like their homemade ranch dressing, but the burger was disappointing. This time I was served a burnt burger, like crispy black on one side. I let staff know and they even took my burger back to the cook to show them it was burnt because it was not believed. Management did not say a word. I was told this particular cook is always messing up. UM, SO WHY IS HE STILL WORKING THERE AND RUINING PEOPLES FOOD?! It's not funny. Waste of time, money, and food. We went here during the week as a "oh snap we need to eat" thing. It's not too far from our new house so we figured why not. The staff was super nice and our waitress Kelly was funny and helpful (like most Kelli's are wink). She made some really good recommendations on dinner and it was good. The hubs tried a few beers and had a wrap for dinner. We also had the nachos for the app. Very good nachos I will say..I had a BLT that I really enjoyed. The bacon was crispy like I like it. One snowy sunday and I head out the house looking for something to satisfy my craving for wings. A lot of great places to go but the best smoked wings I have found are those at the Kettle. I do a standard rub with a side of kitka sauce. My eyes are bigger than my belly. I ordered six to eat at the bar and 9 to take home later for dinner. But what is a visit to brew kettle with out a beer or two. I had a Hi-Wire Citra Gose. Which was a great sour wheat beer with no bitterness. Brew Kettle is doing a great job following the covid19 guidelines. It is the only reason I stayed and ate my meal. They have moving partitions that you can create a safe zone for you and others at the bar. They are social distancing with seating. Some sections being closed. Went to this place today, when we walked in we were promptly greeted but told it would be half an hour wait before we could order because they had a rush; we were fine with that and sat at the bar. We were greeted by Bruce, we had some questions about a wine menu and at first he seemed like we were bothering him but after a few minutes he was good. Planned a road trip to Lorain to see the weiner mobile the lighthouse and Brew Kettle for lunch. The brew kettle didn't let me down. The waitress said they are know for their pulled pork. I ordered a salad with pulled pork and it was very tender and well seasoned. My boyfriend has the bison burger with bacon and cheddar and said it was delicious. Our original dinner plan didn't work out and we chose this was our second option. It ended up being a good dinner for our back-up plan. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The industrial design does create a loud atmosphere. The beer menu is impressive with about 40 options. There are not only Brew Kettle beers offered, but beers from breweries around the country as well. Beers were offered in sizes as small as five ounces which was perfect for tasting. I had Brew Kettle's 4 C's which was a nice pale ale with a bit of a pine flavor. My other beer was Southern Tier's Cheery Gose. I loved that tart cherry flavor. It was a great beer. The food menu is not exotic, but does offer a nice variety of options. For starters I had a Side Salad which had several different veggies and homemade croutons that really made the salad. My main entree was the Sausage and Pierogi Platter which delicious. The sausage was cut in halves so it had a nice grill char and flavor. The pierogis were delicious. My dad had the Perch Tacos which he loved and was a generous three tacos. I like that they make the tacos with local fish. My mom had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which she liked, but the sauce was on the side instead of cooked into the meat. She thought it would have been more flavorful if the meat had been cooked in the sauce. I thought this one of the better options for food and drink in the downtown Amherst area. read more

The drinks are often flat and the food sometimes tastes overcooked. However, I've been here before with no problems at all. Servers are always friendly and take care of you, and the wings are pretty tasty always. First time here! So virgin review. If your a craft brew person this place is definitely for you! My husband likes beer. But we now know his taste runs more on the domestic beer side. He tried a flight and it was a great experience. We're now educated in beer brew slang. The perch is the reason to go.. DELICIOUS. I ordered the 10oz steak.. it's very good too don't get me wrong.. but i ended up stealing 2 pieces of my husband's perch! Little spice to it makes it absolutely worth it. I have to keep in mind I'm in Amherst Ohio, not be all hater hate on this small town of 12k but they are 10-15 years behind on food trends. The original concept opened in 2003 not much changed lol. I'm really a humble eater but I just was not impressed. I did not try any beer so I can't say if it's good or bad. The selection did look appealing the brew kettle Tunguska was 10.8% ABV so that would be my go to. The burger was chargrilled to the point I felt like I was chewing a piece of charcoal barely any seasoning. It was all bun (that broke apart) not toasted at all. Cheese was not melted. Just a total disappointment like my 1st & 2nd husband I may find my self coming back to try some beers but that's it. Service was really good!!! Just not crazy about my meal. Stopped in on a slow afternoon while passing through town. I usually avoid places with brass and awnings out front, but this turned out to be an OK place. I had a pour of Kitka coconut stout, and liked it enough to get a six pack to share with a friend who has similar tastes (he loved it). I also bought a six pack of White Raja for my spouse who likes IPAs, and he gave it a definite thumbs up. I don't think I'd want to go here on a busy Saturday night, but while I was there the barkeep was quite helpful in providing tastes and guidance on selections. Stopped by the have belated birthday dinner for Michelle Knafel. The food was ok but the surroundings went ok to you have got to be KIDDING ME! They sat a large group of runners at a group of tables right next to us. When they came in all I could smell was the sweat! Very loud smelling and don't think about trying to have a conversation since the party of 21 was yelling from one end of the table to the other. There's always a first. Never had a bad meal until today. The chicken wrap had so much salt in it, even the mgr winced. BUT - why aren't these things checked before they are served to the public. The fish was disgustingly gross. Burned on the breading and slimy on the inside. Also there was a piece of "something" that could not be cut, let alone be eaten. This was my first time to this place. I didn't know what to expect. When we walked in, we were asked if we had made a call-ahead reservation. Um, no... It wasn't a problem though, and we were seated immediately. I was disappointed in my appetizer-so-big-it-was-my-entree Nachos with Pulled Pork.There were copious amounts of large fatty pieces that I had to pick through or spit out. So so happy that the Brew Kettle has opened a location in Amherst. The food, beer selection and service is excellent. The venue is so nice and they did a great job with the design. This is just what Amherst needed to make uptown complete. I have been anticipating the opening for a long time and it was worth the wait. The food came out very fast despite the fact that the bar was packed. We came on opening night and everyone working was calm and collected, like pros. I have to say the wings are amazing! I also recommend the deep fried green beans and the buffalo chicken wrap. As far as the beers on draft, there are so many good choices. My favorite is the Brew Kettle's own - White rajah (IPA) . Love the food love the beers like the BIG woody. Just went there on oct 17 about 4.10 pm and it was dead. Got seated right away and waited for 15 mins had to go up to the hostess and ask for a server. The ones my wife and I saw just walked by us and completely ignored us. When we did get a server no I'm sorry nothing. Very disappointed in the lack of caring by the staff and manager if there was on I did not see one at all. Let's start with the building is beautiful! No wonder it took so long to open! The inside went through a total 360 makeover. I love that the patio is very large for the summer months. My boyfriend and I were told the service is lacking here from some friends and they unfortunately were right. WE waited over 5 minutes for someone to even arrive to seat us at a table. Many of the servers looked at us but no one helped us. The girl who sat us told us our server would be right over after a few minutes it ended up being her- very strange. The food is the exact same as the Strongsville location. I got a chicken tenders salad and really enjoyed the honey mustard dressing and my boyfriend ordered the Pulled Pork Spaghetti.
