It's a lot like Rosie's (another great place) you walk in and seat yourself (still a thing I'm getting used to), the menu is huge! Interesting names too! Massive burgers, they don't skimp on the bacon, yummy fries (lacked salt thou). But just a sprinkle and boom shacklaka baby! Hubs has eggs, home fries, sausage (it had a name but I didn't catch it) and a side of sausage gravy and biscuit. (Needed salt) but was delicious for fri dipping. The coffee is good, not bitter at all, the orange juice tastes freshly squeezed. And then you pay upfront and on the way out check out the garden, my husband and I loved the frogs and dogs :-) Definitely top notch!

So the town is a little space when it comes to breakfast dinners. The place itself is old, but cool inside. The service is great. The coffee cups are a little small. So why a 3. Hay, 3 is A OK, which is what this place is. The pancakes were great, the corned beef hash is from a can, okay, but not homemade which is what I would expect. Eggs and bacon were cooked per order. Upside is you can order much and diner items in the AM as well. We did joy but table next to us did. So bottoms line, food was okay, service and price were great. Facility was funky but present. Worth a shot.

We stopped on Super Bowl Sunday evening and enjoyed the delicious Chicken Paprikas and a burger with home fries and gravy. The service-super friendly, the music-perfect, the valentines decorations up and ready for a big food and love fest! Thanks to Chris and all the staff.

This type of place is a favorite of mine. An old time diner with good service, inexpensive and delicious food. Don't expect any thing fancy but do expect to pay little in comparison to chain places for food just as good if not better. The waitresses are friendly and will banter with you if you can play along. On trips back to my hometown of Amherst, Ohio we always make a plan to stop by for breakfast. I get the two eggs (over easy), hash browns, sausage patties with rye toast at the ridiculous price of $5.95. The eggs are always perfect with the yokes good for dipping but not snotty. You get a large potion of hash browns and the sausage patties are the biggest anyplace I've ever eaten. There is more meat that you get on a Big Mac. One review I read said that coffee is expensive for the size of the cup, but they will refill it for free for as long as you sit there and it is pretty tasty diner coffee. The regulars keep it packed early in the morning but by 8:30 am getting a table is not an issue. They always have fresh Lake Erie perch dinners and you owe it to yourself if you are visiting the area to try some of those beauties somewhere for lunch or dinner. Located right on Lake Erie in Lorain, Ohio!

Amazing breakfast spot that I've been coming to since I was a little kid. They have the best food and such a friendly staff. We came for breakfast and our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering it! I love love coming here and have the best memories eating here as a kid. We would always come to Chris' restaurant after church. They are always so busy and you know that's when it's really good. They've been open forever and I'm so happy I can come here when I visit my parents in Lorain. The inside is very clean and cozy. It hasn't changed in so many years and that's what I love about it. I had the veggie omelette with home fries and it was so good. You also can't beat the price. For my mom and I to have breakfast it was only $10! Everything is home made and fresh. It's like grandma's cooking. :) They also have specials certain days of the week that include chicken paprikash and cabbage rolls. I would highly recommend coming here for breakfast - you definitely won't regret it!!

This diner is in walking distance from where my boyfriend lives and well to prove my laziness we drove. The parking lot made us assume it was packed but once we got inside there were still a decent amount of places to sit. You grab your own menus and sit wherever you like. This is a true diner as the only computer system is to swipe credit cards. The servers write down everything and the kitchen uses an order wheel for all orders. I ordered the Country Skillet that included sausage, bacon, onions, hash browns, 2 eggs cooked to order and a lot of cheese (which I like) and 2 pieces of toast. It pretty much was a delicious mess plate! I don't know what kind of sausage they used but it was much better than the brown sausage links I am used to seeing in diners. My boyfriend ordered the Gyro Omelette. The weird thing about this omelette is that it only includes the gyro meat and feta. He had to ask for tomato, onion and cucumber sauce. It must have been good though because he ate the whole thing. The only thing diners should be cautious about when eating here is that the coffee was one of the worst that we have tasted and at $2 it's $2 a cup to boot. Opt for a different beverage because other than that the menu is large and the food is good!

Good food, prices, and friendly service. Breaded pork chops and yellow perch are two of my favorites, along with server Laura!

"Ooh Boy" said most of our party. 14 of us on a Saturday night sat in back room. It cycled from…read morefrigid to sweltering back there depending on if furnace was running. Super Easy solution: add a couple baseboard heaters & temps will stay constant! Food was another matter. About half was satisfied since about half had an issue. My Patty Melt was laughable. Smallest sandwich I've seen served at an actual restaurant. At 8.69 it was a rip-off.. DQ has a burger fry sundae & drink for $7 & is comparable. The bread is likely sliced in house b/c it is half thickness of a regular slice of bread. It was over grilled like a crouton too. But the real disappointment was the minuscule amount of grilled onions hiding underneath the 1/8th pound burger patties. I also asked for mayo on it & didn't get any!! Shoulda got regular Oh boy which is cheaper, has twice the bread, ton of lettuce compared to my onion, and comes w/ sauce vs. my no mayo. Other complaints: cheeseballs were not as good since they confirmed they switched suppliers. They're actually curds now. Onion rings were overfried & really dark which was fine but they were actually not warm so they musta sat in window too long. A few liked their super OhBoys but at $13, it's an average value. Chicken wrap was a value but needed more sauce / kinda dry. Service: We asked if garden burger had chunks of veggies or a Griller type & she said no veggies but it was indeed that type. A couple other mess ups w/ missed toppings & sides & pop missing syrup rounded out the visit.

Service was great! Middle aged blonde lady was good. Atmosphere was nostalgic, reminding me of…read morethe restaurants I went to as a child. Clean! For Atmosphere and service, I give it a 5. For the food and price....i give it a 1. My husband got the "Oh Boy" burger with their so called special sauce. Tasted like plain ol Mayo to me. His burger wasn't horrible but McDonalds would have been a better value. The fries were mediocre. Nothing special. My burger was a Jr Oh Boy as I didn't want two patty's. You could barely see a burger at all on mine. I ordered mine with ketchup and mustard....well that's what I got a mustard and ketchup sandwich. I used 4 napkins trying to get some of the mustard off because every time I would take a bite mustard and Ketchup came pouring out of the bottom. Right off the bat....at first bite, half my fries were drenched in ketchup and mustard. Prices are rediculous for what you get. High prices/low quality. Just go to McDonalds. You'll be happier, I promise.

My cousins ordered food from Susie's for their mom's celebration of life today…read more I regret that I live an hour away from Susie's because we would have to eat there everyday. Lasagna-OMG! The baked chicken was so tender and juicy! Bacon wrapped meatloaf is worth driving an hour to eat! Her apple pie was one of the best I have ever had.... The crust was so flaky! But the Hoho cakeshould be illegal to serve, so moist and the chocolate topping! I will never forget this dessert. Thank you for such a fine meal!

That said, this is a local breakfast and lunch spot and it is just like you imagine. Small, neighborly, and homemade. I can't recall the name of my breakfast but it gave you the staples -- eggs, bacon and two hot cakes. I added breakfast potatoes and had a chocolate milk. It was more food than I could handle so go hungry. The total was actually less than I anticipated for all I got (portions are far more so order less and add on if still hungry). There were regulars there when I sat down and the owner seemed to know each of them. That's the spot I like-- the hometown spot to grab good food and catch up with the locals. The hotcakes alone were enough to bring me back to Susie's! Make sure you add that to you breakfast/lunch spots before leaving the beach town. You won't regret it. The diner is smaller and had dim lighting but the smells from the bacon and griddle make your mouth water. Be patient and thoughtful but be hungry when you go!
