I found this place before my visit to Amsterdam and saved as a place I wanted to visit. Upon arrival, the other three people were leaving, so I had the joint to myself. I grabbed a seat in the back and enjoyed the 80s music playing. I ordered scrambled eggs, which comes with a small salad and bread. I also wanted potatoes but they only had french fries, which seems to be a huge favorite in Amsterdam. The food took quite awhile, which I thought was going to be a bad sign. When the food came out I was almost scared to tried the eggs because I thought they were going to be bad. Also, I'm used to my toast coming separately, however, once I had a spoonful, I was happy with it. In addition, I was happy the toast was under and I could enjoy the thick bread which tasted like an everything bagel. After my meal, I struck up a nice conversation with the woman behind the counter/server. Overall, I had a great time here and would recommend to anyone else visiting Amsterdam! read more

Because we had such a great experience the first time we decided to come back again a couple of days later. You know the old term, just let sleeping dogs lie? Maybe we should have. It was busier for sure but maybe close to 50%. We opted to sit outside as the wind was down and the sun still up. No problem they said, grab a table we'll be right there. We were on a timeline as we had a booking at the Heineken Experience, but had plenty of time. Ten minutes sitting outside, with no service our timeline began to get tight. We finally went inside and took a couple of high top spots at the window. Action! Order taken were all good. Fifteen minutes later still no food the place is now maybe 25%. I say we can only wait another five or we won't have time to eat and get to our prepaid no refund event. Five minutes pass still nothing, I'm like let's go. We get up to leave and our server meets us at the door. I explain the situation and say we have to go, sorry. She's very apologetic, but that doesn't put food in our stomach prior to a beer tour. I'm not happy but always very polite. We walk out and down the street. I hear her say to the kitchen staff "they just left!" She appears at the kitchen exit door and says your food is ready are you sure you don't want to eat it. We go back to our seats wolf down our food, which is as good as it was a couple of days earlier, other than K's tortilla in the huevos rancheros was so hard you couldn't cut it with a knife. Our server was the same as a couple of days prior, but no communication at all was frustrating. A simple "the kitchen is backed up, it's going to be 25 minutes!" Most of the poor reviews are about being ignored and wait times. We just experienced that and it's a shame. read more

I ate at this location back in January 2023 during a stay at the Volkshotel up the street. There were a few mixed reviews but I opted to see for myself and popped in. Echoing some of the other reviews, the service could be more attentive--I stood around for a bit unsure if I should seat myself or wait to be seated. Finally someone saw me and let me know I could sit wherever and someone would bring me a menu. There were a lot of younger customers/students enjoying late breakfast/lunch (I think a school is nearby?) so it def felt like a more hip spot, but very relaxed and not noisy. On the plus side there are lots of options, so this might be a good spot for a group or when you are in the mood to try a few things. I opted for the Mexico City City Breakfast option, which was huevos rancheros. It came with flour tortillas that hadn't been heated up or fried--just cold on the plate. A little strange but still edible. Not the best huevos rancheros I've ever had but that's alright. I'd suggest ordering more standard breakfast options, and be ok with relaxed service! read more

We ordered the pineapple French toast, New York pancakes and cappuccino. All were delicious. The French toast took a while to make but came out hot and fresh. This dish had pineapple garnish, that was the only pineapple flavored element. You could scan a QR code to order to your table or order with the waitress. I would definitely return and recommend. read more

A found the breakfast club on an online itinerary and it did not disappoint! I found a table and got sat quickly. My vanilla latte was perfect without any added cream or sugar, and my seaside eggs - eggs Florentine with smoked salmon - was superb. Everything was hot and cooked well, the Hollandaise sauce was particularly delicious with the smoked fish. Though the English muffins were more cake-like in texture than I'm accustomed to, they were not sweet and paired well with the dish. Nice cafe, would return again. read more

It took 1 hour and 42 minutes to get our food and they forgot all the extras that I had paid for. When it arrived it was luke warm, The sausage was a dutch rookworst and not a breakfast sausage. All in all a totally unimpressed experience and especially considering we had to also cue to get a table for almost 45 minutes. read more

Sorely unimpressed... it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come over and take our order only to have her return 10 minutes later and say they're no longer serving food just the "snacks." We then put in our new order, waited another 20 for our drinks to come (2 beers).. when we reminded her of the beer, she said let me go check, returned 5 minutes later to say our order had not gone through (????). Came in on a Wednesday morning, two or three other tables full. Our server wasn't rude or slow, just a little quiet. The decor here is really lovely. I would love to spend more time here but it's not worth it just for the ambiance. I had the New York, which is buttermilk pancakes with fruit. The fruit was very underripe but the pancakes were decent (with some sort of delicious brown sugar butter mixture). My partner got the London, which featured undercooked sausage, questionable cherry tomatoes, and a generous helping of fried egg. Meh. The coffee was okay. I really wanted to like this place but I don't think we'll be back. read more

The food is good here! No complaints. The coffee is decent. The only negative is the staff - they're so rude and made the whole experience pretty unpleasant. It's also extremely busy on the weekends, so you have to be a brave soul to ignore the staff's cold "we're full, go away" comments and wait the 20 minutes it takes to get a table. read more

The breakfast here is pretty good, generally. Avocado past few days has been a bit too hard, however, and they don't allow you to order scrambled eggs with avocado toast (but you can order fried eggs? Wtf?), however they allow ordering scrambled eggs and to add avocado ... ridiculous... gets 4 stars only cause staff are friendly and food is pretty good, and loses a star for the stupid restriction on the scrambled eggs. The service is long, even for hot drinks, the waitress spills the hot chocolate on us, moreover the dish served without cover because they do not have any more. "MEH." That's what my friends told me when I asked them about this place. I should've listened, but their branding and decor got to me. Tried the avocado toast and the chicken & waffles. Both were super underwhelming. The chicken and batter weren't seasoned, chicken was dry, and the oil used to fry the chicken was old. We knew this dish came with sriracha, but for some reason they put it all over the waffles too. WEIRD. Also I think they were using some knock-off sriracha, not the OG one (Huy Fong) because it was missing a hint of sweetness to it. Anyway, that's not the point. Avocado toast was nothing to be excited about and why is Coffee on the menu labeled as (two shots of coffee)? That's an Americano with two shots. Am I wrong? Service was meh, they made us sit at the bar and told us to order drinks while we were waiting, but never helped us. Also the waitress kept shoving my chair to get to the other tables. Dude, I know this place is cramped, but I can and will scoot over if you let me know you're behind me- don't gotta surprise me like that by shoving. Unlike the other reviewer, I had a more then decent experience recently eating a late afternoon brunch. We had some quick veggy sandwiches which were delivered quickly and the coffee was nice as well. Side note is well that we were out of rush hour. Not 5-star, but friendly staff and good food for not an expensive price. I wasn't too keen on the other visitors, but you can't blame a place for that. I will definetey be back again. read more

Absolutely amazing! Food choice was fantastic and served very quickly. The whole vibe was relaxed and perfect for brunch after a heavy night. Food was delicious! Also uniform was very unique and the T shirts worn were for sale. Definitely worth a visit to one of their locations. Service staff seemed a bit chaotic. We waited 20 minutes until someone took our order. Despite the fact the staff confirmed the whole order they brought the wrong drink. Dirty plates from previous guests were not taken away for the whole visit. The food was mediocre. A "london" style breakfast came with barely roasted suasages, very dry mushrooms and thick slices of toast - without butter. The fried egg was dry like dust. I went there twice, and i probably won't return. It's a nice and cosy place, food is good and drinks too. The reason I dislike this café is personnel afficacity, price for quantity and the time we killed there. After waiting more than 1 hour and half to get a simply english breakfast and 5 small pancakes for my GF. We are not hurry/stressed people, but dude... 1h30 for 5 pancakes, beans and sausages while only 4 tables were booked. So we thought it was not the "good day" and we decided to came back 1 month after that. What we pried for didn't change. Waiting for the menu again, and again, and again and...'Till I decided to pick it up cause the personnel didn't care about us. Finaly plates came, food is still good but still expensive for those small breakfasts. read more
