Eggs Benedict Seaside (ft. Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Chives)
Stephen N.

I really liked the Breakfast Club's Eggs Benedict Seaside (ft. Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese). That was a mouthwatering experience that I finally had the chance of trying after seeing so many fellow foodies show off the Benedict on their socials. However, I would have rated this higher if I had the chance to try out more options. I probably would change my review if I came back on my own next time.

High prices for portions that small. My friend had American pancakes and he liked them. My other friend and I had California eggs benefdict, which lacked sauce and were tiny. Had to wait half an hour and food arrived lukewarm.

The chicken and waffles was amazing and I love the seating in this atmosphere. It's super relaxing vibe. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the waffles was fluffy and still had a crunch. The burrata with added chicken was really good and delicious. The service was really nice with only 1 server. Overall a great place for breakfast!

Granola with soy yogurt and a bowl of fruit, chicken and waffles in the back

Me and some friends came here for breakfast and I had a nice experience. I had the granola with soy yogurt and a bowl of fruit, it was nice although the yogurt was not very cold, it was a hot day though. One friend had the blueberry pancakes which she enjoyed, although my other friend had the chicken and waffles which he did not enjoy as the chicken was burnt. The servers were extremely friendly and pleasant, the restaurant is also in quite a nice area with outdoor seating provided. We sat indoors which was lovely as there is plenty of natural light and just has a nice vibe in general. Again, the only complaint was the burnt chicken.

Food tastes okay. Nothing special. Nice location, right next to a bus station. Very Nice environment. Ordered a sandwich, which is a lot. If you are tired and try to find where to go, definitely can try this place.

The breakfast burger is outstanding. It is really that good. Service was a 2 Star. The burger was that good. We will come back The coffee was two shots espresso with hot water added. Interesting.

Great breakfast, I ordered the California eggs benedict, and hubby ordered the pancakes and we were very happy to have found this place. Hubby says coffee was ok, not great, but I loved my lemon verbena tea, what a delight it was to see it on the menu. The place is charming and the staff very friendly.

Delicious breakfast option. There are many vegetarian options, and you can find tons of vegan milks to have w/ your coffee. Absolutely love it!

Good food, decent service, close to the center of Amsterdam without being in the congestion. The patio is excellent with seating opening into a big square. Great place for a patio meal, but also with enough onside cozy seating for a grey day.

Pancakes!

Mortimer Amsterdam - Scramble eggs with avocado & Mortimer McMuffin

Mortimer Amsterdam

Located on Nieuwezijds Kolk, just a short walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station and the historic…read moreheart of the city, Mortimer occupies a convenient position between the canal district and Amsterdam's main transportation hub. The exterior blends naturally into the surrounding streetscape of traditional Dutch buildings to the point that we almost missed it - it's a cozy, townhouse-feel, with large front windows allowing plenty of daylight into the restaurant. Inside, the space feels cramped yet cozy, with a bright, café-style design that prioritizes natural light but preserves old furnishings. It's a two-story setup with closely-packed tables, crafting an intimate atmosphere. At around noon on a Friday, the restaurant was full, so my walk-in party of three waited around fifteen minutes before a table opened up. The menu is firmly centered around breakfast and brunch, with a selection of egg dishes, pancakes, sandwiches, pastries, specialty coffee, and lighter lunch fare. The offerings lean contemporary and international rather than traditionally Dutch, and portions are substantial without being excessive (not an American diner by any means), and the menu balances healthier options with more indulgent brunch classics. It's the sort of place where nearly every table seems to have a combination of coffee, eggs, and something sweet. One friend ordered their Dutch Caesar Sandwich (€16.75), which was a gargantuan sandwich atop hearty toasted sourdough, crisp Romaine lettuce, chicken salad, and a tangy 48-month aged Parmesan cheese. She enjoyed the variety of textures and flavors in the sandwich, and it was a great portion for the price. My other friend opted for the Eggs Benedict (€17), which was two perfectly-poached eggs served atop a golden-brown toasted fluffy bun, country ham, and a rich, decadent hollandaise sauce. This was a truly photogenic dish with some excellent flavors to back it up. Lastly, I ordered their French Toast & Stroopwafel (€15.5), which was a thick slice of brioche french toast with a whipped vanilla cream, fresh apple compote (with a lovely flavor of cinnamon), stroopwafel caramel, and a light dusting of stroopwafel crumble. Between the soft, custardy french toast, the light cream, the slightly tart apple compote, and the crunchy stroopwafel, this was a truly playful dish, and I've never had one quite like it. The overall atmosphere strikes a balance between modern brunch spot and neighborhood café, making it an appealing option for breakfast or lunch before a day of exploring the city center. Service is so friendly and helpful, and pricing falls comfortably within Amsterdam's mid-range café market, with most guests spending approximately €15-30 per person. If you're looking for a great brunch in the city before a day of exploring, I highly recommend Mortimer!

Saturday, 1pm-ish, yearning for coffee…read more I have to pick up something, but i am stalling. Not sure if I really need coffee, i guess i need an excuse. Coffee is always a good excuse. So here I am, wanting to sit on their big terrace which is unfortunately a bit drizzled on by rain, I will sit inside, window side. I like the place. Looking from the outside in, the place doesn't draw you in though. Once sitting inside it looks nice, styled and clean. Except from the cobweb on the window-sill. Makes me suddenly wonder what bugs are hiding in the fur, stylishly draped over some of the chairs. I'm squeamish for bugs. Luckily easy distracted, so i'm leaning back against it while ordering my cuppa joe. I'm ordering my espresso macchiato, which taste is good but not as scalding hot as i like it to be. And as that was gone in a split second, I'm having a soup, to warm me up (and/or prolong the stalling) It's a chunky tomato soup with bell pepper. I am not a big fan of soup, but a great executed soup i can truly appreciate. So I do. The young staff is friendly but the boy seems nervous. On his "did you enjoy your soup" I have to suppress the need to yell "NO". Not because i dislike him, he seems sweet, but just to see his reaction. I am weird that way. The place oozes tranquility, a perfect place to relax and have a cuppa joe. Too quiet for a Saturday afternoon me thinks. Curious to find out how the atmosphere is during dinner time. Until then! :)
