I do not recommend this place. My family and I visited for breakfast on November 16, 2025, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were there for a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes. Our server was inattentive, the buckwheat pancakes were nearly see-through, and the Dutch Baby pancake was undercooked in the middle. On top of that, the table we were seated at had screws sticking out from underneath. My teenage daughter actually punctured her leg on one of them, causing it to bleed. I reported this immediately to Paris, the manager, who seemed unaware--even though she mentioned having the table custom-made. Completely unacceptable. The restaurant looked clean enough, but there was a strange sign by the tea and coffee station instructing employees to "label every fuckin' thing." I'm still not sure what that was about. Stopped here for brunch on my way out of town a few weeks ago after hearing so many great things about it. I had been wanting to try it for a while. My server was very kind and upfront in letting me know that everything is made from scratch and would take a little extra time. I appreciated the heads-up and didn't mind waiting for a quality meal. When I walked in, the gentleman sitting at the bar wasn't very welcoming. He seemed a bit startled to see me and simply said, "Oh, you can sit over there," without much warmth or direction. It wasn't a huge issue, but it wasn't the best first impression. From what I could tell, this establishment clearly stands by its values. They believe better food is worth a longer wait and take a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to hospitality. That atmosphere may not be for everyone, but I personally didn't mind it. I highly recommend the Dutch baby. My only concern was the attitude of some front- and back-of-house employees within earshot of guests. Several times during my meal, I heard employees raising their voices and speaking to each other in a belittling way. It created a slightly uncomfortable and unusual environment. Traveling across the country and found this gem with vegan options for my mother. I was expecting they would throw some potatoes on some Impossible patties and call it a day. NO, I was blown away at this little local, small town spot. We had the Vegan Biscuits w Gravy and the Vegan Smash Bowl. DELICIOUS! The Breakfast Caffe opened its new location at 350 Brockway (in the Greenmont neighborhood, about one mile up the road from Sabraton) the beginning of April. One month in, and they have wowed their customers with delicious creative breakfasts, including the local favorite Ramp Bowl, and probably the very best biscuits in buckwheat sausage gravy you can find in town. They also offer many alternative dishes with a vegan and/or gluten-free option. There's usually a few baked goods to sample as well. Everything is delicious and made from scratch, so sometimes there's a slightly longer wait. This is definitely not fast food...and that's a good thing! The big news in May is that The Breakfast Caffe is now offering delivery through Door Dash (check the app for details.) I believe this is during the evening hours through 9PM. For starters, they are offering Nashville Tender Chicken Sandwiches and Burgers and Fries through the service. I had one of the first burgers Chef created for the service and I'm not kidding, this may be one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was made to order (I like mine medium well) with onions, tomatoes, bacon and cheese with some mustard and a little ketchup. It was a generous burger that was absolutely perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. What elevated it even further was that the brioche bun it was on fully encased the meat and toppings, so there wasn't a drip in sight. A decadent no mess burger...now that is hard to find. And the mouth happiness doesn't end there...I am not a big fries fan, because honestly, fries are often disappointing..overcooked, droopy, cold tasteless oily empty calories. The offerings here are more like steak fries...thick long rectangular fried and seasoned potato ambrosia...crispy and savory on the outside, soft hot and creamy on the inside. Best chicken tenders and fries in town, or maybe anywhere. Good, no-nonsense coffee. The outside looks so depressing and deserted, with no light, no colors, no cars, not even an "Open" sign. Kind of a haunted house look. Win e and liquor decor, but no drinks. I'm sure alot of people would figure it's a sad place and not try it. The cook is obviously experienced and talented, but I'm sure nobody involved has any business background or interest. The name is messed up, too. Open 8-4 with a terrific lunch menu.but called "Breakfast" If people are looking for a lunch place, they would not know to go there. Too bad they don't care about business, because the food is excellent but they're not trying to get more people. Put something bright and happy outside! Check out this gem of a restaurant in its new neighborhood location, a mile up the road from Marilla Park and Sabraton. Best biscuits and sausage gravy I ever had. Get there early as they often run out before midday! Friendly wait staff and cozy ambiance. Plenty of parking. Once they are established, lunch and dinner service will be available. Made from scratch restaurants are becoming fewer and far between, making The Breakfast Caffe a real oasis in a fast food desert. read more

A very small cafe that boast a wait because everything is scratch made, not a problem. My husband ordered the hillbilly eggs Benedict, it came in 5" cast iron skillet with only one egg that was still raw and zero hollandaise sauce . Our daughter got the smash bowl and it was tasty. I got the frittata and it was also served in the small cast iron skillet. No bread is served with these meals so I ask for a biscuit and after waiting for 20 minutes it came out as a 1/2 inch thick, 2" in diameter biscuit that was a lump of dough that we paid 3.50 for. We all left hungry because of small portions, definitely not worth $55 for breakfast The skillet dishes have a strange flavor due to the seasoning product they use, I would suggest using bacon grease to season the cast iron! read more

We found a HIDDEN GEM this morning......Everything is done by "scratch cooking". They offer a wide variety from Vegan, to gluten free to farm fresh foods. I had the Hillbilly Eggs Benedict and Wendy had the Smashbowl...Super Delicious, (no to-go box needed!) They also have special dinners on the 1st and 3rd Fridays (5 to reservations are required. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!! Let me save you some time and recommend you to never go here, never mind look at the place. The outside of the place is half finished. So the biggest take away from this review would be the time. We waited for an hour and half to get our food then I watched it sit on the counter for another 10 minutes. By the time It was ready I wasn't hungry and just wanted to leave. The food was subpar comparable to a worse IHOP. The service is one of the worst I've ever seen. Everyone working looks like they hate working here and treat even with bare minimum respect. Let's start with being seated and waiting 20 minutes to place our order. While waiting we had to listen to classic rock (which I love) being blared from the kitchen. It was later turned down I'm sure someone else complained. Also this place was not busy in the slightest. There were 3 other tables seated with only two people at each table. Yep of which had already been served food. So they weren't busy by any stretch of the imagination. We finally get our drinks and place our order. It took another 35-40 minutes to get our food. In the meantime I'm hoping this breakfast is going to be phenomenal since we're waiting so long. I was sadly mistaken when I got my food, the steak tips and eggs with their smash brown potatoes. The steak looked good, but was dry with little flavor and the smash browns were the size of one tiny potato smashed. I literally could have eaten it in two bites if it wasn't over cooked and burnt and kept breaking when I tried to pick it up with my fork. I realized that there wasn't any toast that came with it once my food was delivered so I asked for toast. My wife still hadn't gotten her food yet. She got hers when I had 2 bites of mine left. Her French toast looked great and was literally the best part of the breakfast. Her smash browns were the same as mine. Dry and overcooked. I never got a refill on my drink, and we were still hungry after we left and paid our bill which was $50 for breakfast. $50 was definitely not worth that disappointment and to still leave hungry. I almost forgot about the $2.20 toast that I got right before the bill and I had been done eating for 5 minutes. I only took a picture of my food because my wife was already eating because she was hungry and forgot to take a pic. Only reason this got 2 stars was because the waitress was nice. We had hoped we had stumbled upon a new favorite spot, but unfortunately we left disappointed. It is a small place with just a few tables and some bar seating in the back. There was only one waitress when we first sat down. Service was very slow; one would have thought they would have been better staffed/prepared especially for a big football weekend in Morgantown (Backyard Brawl). Food was okay. We had ordered a side of pancakes but never got them even after another server/cook told us she would go back in the kitchen and make us some because "they are really good".
