Solid local place for sandwiches. Fresh bread and ingredients. I ordered their cheesesteak first time around and was very impressed, perfect ratio of meat, cheese and bread and it just melts in your mouth. I came at the end of the day so the pile of chips I had was broken and not the best but the sandwich made up for it. I also have tried their tuna sandwich which is so good with the sprouts, reminded me of jimmy johns but way better. The chips second time around were a fresh batch. I can't say enough good things about this place! I've had reps bring their food many times to my office and it has always been great, but never actually went myself. I needed a last minute LARGE catering order (placed on a Friday morning for Saturday morning). No hesitation from staff at all that it was too last minute. Order was ready completely on time for pick, and it was amazing! Everyone at the gathering commented multiple times how good the food was. I am extremely happy with everything they provided, and the friendliness of the staff. I usually love the bread board. Great sandwiches and yummy soups. Today I got the vegetarian steamed bowl and was so so disappointed. It was steamed broccoli carrots rice and sweet potato. WITH NO SEASONINGS. there was nothing special about it. I can get that ANYWHERE. it tasted like something you eat when you're on an extreme diet or worse when you're sick. I also got a Santa Fe veggie wrap to take home but since I didn't finish my bowl of steamed veggies bc it was horrible I thought I'd eat half of my wrap. Again the pepper jack cheese was cubed and not melted there were probably a total of 10 black beans in it and 4 tomato diced Cubes. Thank god it had avocado. But I'm t was filled completely with chopped lettuce. And the dressing.... sour cream. Absolutely no flavor. None. I stop here every time I'm in haddon field. But I will not be coming back. Original 2-Star Review: I'm not originally from the Philly area, but even *I* know that this is not the way a hoagie should be served. I've given The Bread Board Plus ample opportunities to impress me--I live less than a block away. The meat is good (probably Boar's Head or similar). The condiments are decent. The hot/sweet peppers are particularly low-quality and the tomatoes are generally of the pink variety, but everything else is your average produce. But the bread?? YUCK! Why would I want delicious Boar's Head-like (if not actually) meat on a processed sponge-like roll impersonator? It's pretty much stale Wonder Bread in the shape of a roll. I don't understand how in the Philadelphia Area (and one suburb over from Cherry Hill) they don't buy their rolls from a local bakery! That's a million negative points in my book. If I'm paying over $10 for my sandwich meal, it better be on a decent roll. This is NOT the best hoagie in South Jersey, let alone Haddonfield--BY FAR. Get a better roll (for the same price) and we'll talk. The salad bar also leaves little to be desired, but at least it's a better bang for your buck (it comes with a free refillable fountain drink). UPDATE: Wow. Was walking down the street to go to work when I saw WONDER BREAD delivering all the bread products to The Bread Board Plus (see photo evidence). I wish I could give this place more stars because the food ROCKS, but unfortunately the service always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I usually get the veggie wrap with chicken and it is so good every time. If you sit inside/outside, you also get chips with your order! However, the older guy who works behind the counter is consistently rude to me. 2 weeks ago I even caught him making fun of me to two younger girl employees! When he noticed that I had heard him, he immediately stopped and looked down like a sad puppy dog. I don't like to give business to places with bad customer service, but the food is so good it will probably keep me coming back, even if that means dealing with Mr. Grumpy. On a whim, I decided to try this place because I was in the area for the day. I'm glad I did because the sandwich I got - grilled roast beef with peppers, onions, sauce, and provolone - was really good. All of the ingredients melded together perfectly. I couldn't stop eating it. That's the sign of a good sandwich. My only quibble is the bread should've been toasted (I wonder if I could get it this way). I used to frequent this fine establishment at least once a week for lunch when I was landscaping in Haddonfield and surrounding areas. It became one of my local favorites. Expect to spend a cool $15 if you want a side and a drink with your lunch, but the sandwiches are excellent even by exacting south jersey standards. God bless America for a good old fashioned hoagie. These sammiches are some of the best (aaarounddd), and I try to frequent The Bread Board as often as I can get my tushie to South Jerz (and as often as my wallet can afford). The slice their meat paper thin, and use shredded lettuce for that perfect crunch. They don't skimp on ANYTHING, and their rolls are so wonderfully soft yet stand up to the weight of the massive contents. They make a mean italian hoagie (i'm a creature of habit...), but their Cheesesteak hoagie and Tuna salad are knockouts as well. I usually spring for the large (which is seriously more food than I think even 2 people should consume in one sitting), and try to save some leftovers... but usually I end up forcing every last bite down my gullet. I went here with a buddy of mine last week. The place definitely has a homey/comfortable feel to it. It's got two sections with tables. One side has the ordering/sandwich making area. The other side has a salad bar and ice cream fixing/soda jerk type area along with some more tables to eat at. I got the buffalo chicken cheesesteak and fries. The bread was decent, but the buffalo chicken was pretty dang tasty. They gave me a pile of old style ruffled potato chips on the side. The Bread Board Plus is the bomb. Period. End of story. I like the place so much I end up going at least once a week, and pass lots of other good lunch places to get there. I usually get the chicken parm or the chicken cheese steak, and both are delish. And I love the heaping helping of old school chips they serve along with. The bread is amazing, and I DEFINITELY disagree with the one review that didn't like the bread...I'm pretty sure she has the wrong restaurant. It is so good that when my wife couldn't finish her cold sub with plenty of trimmings, I ate it the NEXT DAY for lunch and the bread was still soft with a firm crust (not the typical "next-day tomato-soggy" kind of bread you get at most places). To top it off, the service is fantastic. They treat you well every time and hook you up when you have special requests. I usually end up going to Bread Board once a week and figured it was about time to leave a review. To start off, the staff is very friendly and they provide a very welcoming atmosphere to have a lunch time meal, and they process orders and turn around the food in a very timely fashion. Now for the food! I tend to stick with the hot subs because they do them so well here. I always get the Monday special which is an excellent BBQ Chicken Cheese Steak. But I also love the chicken parm, which while it does take a few minutes to come out, is totally worth how fresh and piping hot it is. The cold subs are quite good as well and are loaded to the brim with meat, I know if I get a half, I usually get a second meal out of it. I was shocked by some of the reviews on here about the bread that they use for the sub rolls, because I know that they get it from a quality South Jersey bakery. I mean lets be honest, if someone wants to get a sandwich on white bread, they probably want it on something like they grew up with anyways. Lastly, it's always great to see an owner take a very active role in their business and take the time to learn customers names. This is one of the great things about the Bread Board, the owner is usually there and he makes you feel like a part of the Bread Board family, not just another customer, and he is always eager to get feedback on what to improve. This is a great little spot to eat. There's a nice selection on their menu and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. The shop itself is cute and cozy and so far everyone on their staff has been very pleasant.
