No sign of what kinds. He asks how big they are and they just point to behind the counter. Nice. Then he asks what kinds they have. "You want me to tell you all of them?" He said "Yes, please." We came in in the middle of the afternoon and I was offered a 2 for 1 deal on the breakfast burrito. Yay! Noooo! It was a soggy, fatty mess. The thing had been sitting in a bucket all day and the tortilla had melted with the wrapping had melded with the fillings, so the whole thing was just gummy and homogenous with only some limp, bologna-tasting bacon (or sausage, I literally couldn't tell) studding the soup. I leave the extra star for the baked goods, which smelled great and I had a bite of a cookie that was clearly made by skilled hands. read more

Visited here during our first trip to Cheyenne last Friday. We came in too late in the day to catch most of the lunch items, so we picked up some delicious garlic cheddar bread, a spelt loaf, and enough muffins, cookies, and other sweet treats to fill up a bag (that's what we get for skipping lunch and coming here instead!) Seating and parking could be a problem during peak times, but neither were issues for us in the late afternoon. Based on my limited search of restaurants in the area, I'm thinking this is about as good as it gets locally in terms of quality. I'm not crazy about the vegetable shortening part of my bread ingredients, but I got over it once I took a bite. :) read more

Wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. I opted for the ham salad... It was delicious! Ordering the meal deal gets you a sandwich, either potato salad or pasta salad, or a soup side and a home-made cookie of your choice, for around the same price as a chain restaurant would charge. I get pies from this place in a regular basis. They have lunch items such as sandwiches, etc, but I have not experienced them. However, I can say that the pies are very good. I've had their Lemon Meringue, Peanut Butter Cream, Apple, Cherry, and Peach pies. They are all delicious. They do not accept Amex cards, so be prepared with another form of payment. read more

Towns like this, you kind of have to do what you can to fend for yourselves on the food front and this was the sort of little place that seemed like what we were looking for, the sort of hidden gem of the area and looking at the reviews, it seemed like a sure thing... Inside, there are lots and lots of different treats and if you're in the mood for something sweet, you definitely can find it, up to and including some store-made snack mix. Lots of delectables there and so far so good, but we were looking for some quick sandwiches and out...given the tiny size of this place, it seemed the best option, though there are outdoor tables. My wife went with turkey lurkey and I went with roast beef. I got mine on 9 grain and my wife went with marbled rye. Both of ours were slightly stale and dry, on the bread side and my wife must have gotten what was left of the sprouts and olives as there were none on my sandwich. Bread was sliced a bit thinner than I expected, but held up ok...taste was not what I was thinking and this is not one of the better 9 grains I've ever had...they did well on the portion size of the meats, though... Other than that, staff is friendly and this seems like a cool little locals hangout, but, real talk here, there is not overwhelming competition around, either, which is probably contributing a lot to the high regards there. Probably if you stick to sweeter stuff, results will be better as well, though their drink selection could use a bit of help. Still, tons of good options for lunch combinations and the salads looked quite excellent as well, so there is promise here...all in all, a solid offering, but nothing I'd clamor to go back for... read more

They do amazing lunch specials every day where you can grab a sandwich of your choice (on The Bread Basket's delicious bread, of course), a bowl/cup of soup, or a small salad for under $10. Additionally, they sell loaves of bread, cinnamon rolls, cabbage rolls, breakfast burritos, pastries, cookies, cupcakes, brownies... basically, it's an incredible wonderland of yum, comfort food and happiness. This little deli is such a gem. We came at lunch time and it was pretty busy but not overly packed. The building is charming, and the decorations are as well. They make their own breads and sell other deli-type things like jams and whatnot. They have a sandwich counter and their sandwiches are chock-full of delicious veggies. This place is very mixed for me. The pastries and breads are delicious but the cookies are terrible every time. Sandwiches and breakfast burritos are pretty good, but not always. The last breakfast burrito we got there was steamed to mush since they're all premade early in the morning. You cannot get a decent cup of coffee here. Probably the hint that pushes it into the negative for me is how consistently rude the staff is when serving you. I've felt unwelcome the handful of times I've come. What a great find! We were traveling through town and lucked upon this casual delicious sandwich shop. The lady recommended the Chicken Salad and it was delicious! It had some secret ingredient that made it taste fresh... I don't think it was cucumber or green onions? And their cole slaw also had some delicious flavor, not sweet but yummy. When you walk in, this shop won't look like it has a ton to offer, but do not be deceived. The menu is simple, but the sandwiches are fresh and very tasty. Having been to Cheyenne a couple times a week for the last 18 months, I realized that I had done very little in terms of checking out eateries. I passed this place a hundred times before finally going to it for lunch today. I was quite happy. It is truly charming, and fits the general vibe of Cheyenne itself. The crowd seemed to be mostly business oriented individuals, which makes sense with downtown being just a few blocks away. I stood in line for about 10 minutes before getting to place and receive my order. I was hungry, because I skipped breakfast, and ordered a whole chicken salad sandwich with tomato, mustard, lettuce, and sprouts, a side of potato salad, and chips. I waited to eat until I was back on-site. I was quite happy. For $10, I got a quality meal that made me happy I didn't bring my own lunch. Now, that said, I have made better sandwiches and better potato salad, but I was happy with their take on these products and also felt good for supporting a local, original business. The baked goods all looked very appealing and it was only by some divine intervention that I did not walk out of with a box of cookies, breads, and cakes. Service was very friendly with a lot of smiles. I would recommend this again for someone needing a reasonable lunch without too much hassle. read more
