I stopped here for lunch on a recent visit to Cheyenne. The place had good reviews online so I decided to check it out. I ordered a turkey and Swiss on rye with L T & M and it was great. Fresh roasted turkey breast sliced thin and piled high. Nice crunchy pickle on the side. The rye bread was the best I've ever tasted. I wanted to buy a loaf to take home but I was on a motorcycle and had no room for it. Maybe next time. They have all sorts of baked goodies, breads cakes pastries- you name it. The place smelled heavenly. I also like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. This is a great lunch spot if you're tired of the same old same old cheeseburger-and-fries routine. read more

Oh my!!!!! We are on an extended road trip and found this bakery on Yelp. The soup and bread bowl were amazing, the eclairs beyond the best we have ever had and the three women that waited on us made the experience complete!! One of my favorite places in Cheyenne. It could be a "local secret", since it took a little while for me to find it...but once I did I became a regular customer during the time we lived there. It's a charming little place, on a corner in a neighborhood near downtown that serves wholesome food at a great price. They have the best bread, which in turn makes the best sandwiches. Soups are excellent. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. Their baked goods - cookies and brownies and etc. are excellent. They sell local honey and jam, etc. Their coffee is great. The prices are great for a meal, or for their baked goods. I highly, highly recommend this bakery/deli. read more

The 5 stars absolutely reflects the bakery itself in that there is no better bakery in Cheyenne. The iced sugar cookies, cannoli, sticky buns, haystack cookies and all of the breads are absolutely TO DIE for. They also have the largest selection of Baer Jelly in Cheyenne, and that jelly is simply the best. However, my one major disappointment was the way myself, another customer, and even a person on the phone were treated by Kathy. She was so unwelcoming and rude it was astonishing, no hello, what are you looking for, how can I help, just snappy answers and angry tone and rolling eyes when you took an extra ten seconds deciding what you wanted then after I signed my credit card receipt she literally walked away and didn't utter another word to me. No thanks for coming in, hope you'll be back, NOTHING......Not sure if maybe she was having an off day, but it was extremely off putting and certainly not the way I expect to be treated especially when shopping locally. Bad service or not, the food/baked items are too delicious to miss, so I guess I'll take the good with the bad. read more

We stopped in Cheyenne on our way back to Colorado today to see the capitol building and state museum. We chose The Bread Basket because of Yelp and weren't disappointed. GRANOLA! Who would've thought that homemade granola could make a person so happy. I make it my duty to stock their granola in our home regularly. So tasty and chewy and just delicious. I've tried their fudge bars - pretty good but a bit too sweet for me, I wish other flavors of the bars came out and not just overly sweet. Cinnamon swirl bread - really yummy, toast it and put a little butter on it, YUM. Cinnamon rolls - wasn't a fan at all. Not nearly enough doughy chewy goodness. White chili - really good! Chicken salad sandwich - tasty and fresh but nothing overly exciting about it. A couple downfalls to this place is it isn't really conducive to meeting a friend for lunch. I think that it appears they would welcome guests to dine in but it's just odd being at a dingy table surrounded by product. I feel like if they could jazz up their dining room they would really up lunch food sales. I know I would frequent it much more often. read more

Visiting from out of state and stopped here for breakfast. Upon entering it smells amazing, you have a good feeling just walking in. The breakfast burritos were wonderful, our 7 year old even liked it, very filling! Cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins were also fantastic. The prices are very reasonable, our family of 5 ate for $30, that included 4 breakfast burritos, a muffin, 2 cinnamon rolls and juice for everyone. We left with 16 cookies (5 different varieties), 2 creamed horns, and a cherry cheese strudel for $18. They have various jams, breads, pastries, cakes, muffins, brownies, granola, snack mix and many other items for sale. Cute little bakery I would definitely go back to. Driving through Cheyenne and found this on Yelp a couple of miles off the highway. Worth the little drive! Staff was very friendly and made your sandwich just as asked! What an unfortunate disappointment. Maybe the pastries are better, but their sandwiches are nothing that couldn't be made at home...and for a lot cheaper. My husband's turkey sandwich was so small it only filled up 1/4 of the paper plate it was served on, and it cost $6. My brother-in-law ordered a soup bread bowl - the tomato bisque soup was tasty but the bread bowl had no flavor at all. My sandwich on jalapeno-cheddar bread left much to be desired. Not to mention that when we asked for a cup of water, we were handed a paper dixie cup and told to fill it up using the bathroom sink. I would not recommend this place, and we will not be returning. read more

I have been here alot. They have amazing hand made sandwiches, fresh made bread and amazing desserts. I stop here every time I get a chance. The staff is very friendly and it has a great feel to the place. My kids love there home made treats they can't get enough of them. my friend and I stopped in finally to see how they are she got a sloppy joe that looked like it was a half of a spoon left and it must of been because when they gave it to her she said sloppy joes are gone I my self got a cabbage pie WHAT a disappointment the dough in side was not even cooked all the way and it fell apart trying to eat it because it was so undercooked I was going to bring this all to there attention but did not due to they where so busy and did not want o upset there lunch rush , on the other hand there sandwiches looked good .......very disappointed read more
