Side Salad with Ranch, it's meal size!

What an awesome addition to the area! This sports forward restaurant has a huge offering of beers on tap, full bar and extensive food menu... something for everyone! The space is brightly lit and I especially appreciated the nicely padded seats that provided comfort. Everything came out super fast! Started with a Spiced Peach Shot then Smoked Old Fashioned then Espresso Martini. For the food, Side Salad (huge by the way), Loaded Fries and Side Roasted Cauliflower. Ample sizes, comparable for the price and everything tasted great. Service was super. I had JC and she was very friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience.

I came here for a late lunch because I had read good things about this place and wanted to check it out. I decided to sit at the bar where I was greeted by multiple staff members. Raj, my server, immediately came and gave me water and menus. Everything looked so good, but I had a hankering for a cheeseburger. I decided to get it plain and get Brussel sprouts as my side. Drink wise, I went with the strawberry basil mule. There were a decent amount of people there (mainly bigger tables), but most if not all already had either their food or drinks. Thankfully, it was a short wait for me until my food arrived. I dug until the sprouts first and was beyond impressed. They were crispy, full of flavor, and tasted exactly how they're described in the menu (which is always a plus). The cheeseburger was perfect. Everything was spot on from the brioche bun to the actual sandwich and it was nice not to eat a charred burger for a change. My drink ended up being just what I needed. It had just the right amount of sweetness with the strawberry but not too much to where it made the drink unbearable. Additionally, I'll drink a 170 cal drink any day! Towards the end, Raj asked me if I was into beer and I explained I was working on it. He let me sample a few based of what I've had before. He was incredibly friendly, personable, and made great conversation while settling my bill. Aside from the great tasting food, I really enjoyed the chill, laid back atmosphere. I can't wait to come back for the sprouts and try more dishes!

I came here for a nightcap and it did not disappoint. I ordered a draft cider flight and I must say it was delicious and sweet. It consisted of angry orchard original, home peach, rubous and blue moon. Prices are reasonable. I hate I ate because the food coming out looked delicious, hot and fresh. I will definitely return for more drink and food choices. Staff friendly and attentive. Building well lit, bar area long but tables are pretty close to each other. Parking lot semi private. Check website for food, drink and happy hour times.

We went here on Friday night. The drinks were good. The burger was okay. The shrimps were good. The staff was attentive. The music was good, not too loud or soft. We would definitely come back here again for their drinks and shrimps.

My wife and I 1st time for lunch. Open area but kind of loud. Most seating is high-tables. We decided to have a "Tap Salad " with ranch dressing on side and 10 chicken bone-in wings (naked) with sauces on side. A Coke and ice tea. The salad was fresh and just as shown on menu. The wings were fresh and hot out of fryer. Service was good. Saw a large assortment of beers. It's a nice new spacious place. No complaints except the one sauce for wings was kind of real rear thick bbq sauce, and other hot chili oil seeds at bottom (extra charge .50 & felt like nickel and diming since already paying 10 wings for $20 and charging for small plastic cup to dip); nothing special for added flavor. With tip over $50. Worth it?????? Nothing really struck us as special about it at this point. My wife didn't finish her salad and just left it.

The Brass Tap is a new spot located on Olive Rd in Olivette, I accompanied a friend who spotted it just by riding down Olive Rd and I am glad that I did, we had eaten before we got there but I wished that I had not, the food being brought to some of the surrounding tables looked and smelled delicious, so I ordered a raspberry lemon drop that was so yummy I drank it in about 3 swallows. The service I have zero complaints, its a seat yourself place and once we sat a waitress came to is promptly with drink and food menus. It puts me in the mind of a sports bar with TVs all over the restaurant with sports games on the Tvs. I already know that I am going back to try 1 or 3 items off of the menu.

Happy Hour at The Brass Tap is already shaping up to be a new go-to, especially for an after-work meet up. The space is brand new and buzzing, which made the energy fun but did mean we had to wait a little bit for an open table. (It's seat yourself) Once we snagged a spot, though, it was smooth sailing with drinks, bites, and lots of catching up. Their Happy Hour from 3-6 Monday through Thursday is seriously delicious and makes trying a few things feel like a steal. The menu has something for everyone, and the drink selection is impressive without feeling overwhelming. It's the kind of place you can pop into casually but still feel like you found a cool new spot. We're giving it a solid 4/5 for now just because of the crowd/wait time, but that's the price of being new and popular!! Give it a little time to settle in, and this one's going to be a staple.

There are 4 plexiglass squares cut into the floor for an opportunity to look into the event space downstairs. Food I tried the small charcuterie board ($25) which was enough for 2. I was able to make some substitutions. Bar I chose a couple beverage selections and was provided a wine glass and a cocktail (of sorts) glass. My guest purchased Bloody Mary fixings' (vodka and the Bloody Mary mixer). The manager poured the beverage for her (cup of ice, etc.). The bar has straight adult beverages you can order. Nothing divey about a hip cocktail or hip deviled eggs -- these are sophisticated modern twists, the exact move wine bars make and dives don't. A chalkboard of specials and weathered seating gesture at the aesthetic; the rest of the room knows. Kendall Roy of restaurants -- comes from privilege, wants badly to be of the people. It's a bit, and mostly the kitchen and bar back it up. Nevertheless, we arrived to a full room, hour wait for a table, but we fortunately arrived to snag the last first come patio table. The bar was also full, by the way, which felt neighborhood like, people clearly like this place during happy hour. The old fashioned makes the case: Old Grand-Dad Bonded, pickled rye, cognac, butterscotch bitters. Two whiskeys and a bitter you won't find at an actual dive. Rich, a little sweet. The harissa deviled eggs keep going -- fried shallots, roasted red peppers, cilantro, marinated tomato jam. You know, just like the old dive with the $1 PBR.Deviled eggs for people that don't like deviled eggs. However, we love deviled eggs...foreshadowing. The short ribs are the headline -- fall-apart tender over whipped potatoes substantial enough to stand up to the meat, gravy spot on. Eats like a perfectly executed roast dinner. The brie burger is the sneaky second hit, genuinely decadent, bacon with the cheese melting into the beef. The service was good and pleasant and that felt more like dive-friendly, where you might expect a wine "bar" to be snooty or full of themselves. 4.4 Stars Picking Nits: hip deviled eggs that reach past what they can hold. Tomato jelly on top is a lot going on, in the wrong way, and the egg disappears under it. These are trying to be hip deviled eggs more than they're trying to be good deviled eggs. Every ambitious kitchen has one plate that tries too hard; this appears to be one. A 5 needs those eggs landing, in the same way the entrees excelled. Regardless, we'll be back.

That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. After explaining we'd just be there briefly for a drink, we were allowed to sit there, but the interaction felt dismissive. From that point on, the experience felt rushed. We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional. I loved that the location had a good parking lot and was easy to get to. The decor and ambiance are designed to give you a feeling of luxury. We had a party of 6 and the round table we were placed at was the perfect size for conversation but still had room for all of our food and plated. Waitress was very helpful and attentive. The wine and bourbon list was massive and I recommend that you do your research in advance. It is way too big to really explore at the table. Bourbons were kind of high priced but, "fine dining" so expected. House salad is really good and fresh with nice light, balanced ingredients. We tried the korean cauliflower and bread service for apps. The cauliflower was ok but I wouldn't order again. It was a little disappointing that they charge for bread service. A single order comes with 5 pieces of bread, connected but tearable, and each a pretty small finger-sized piece. The board they served it on had a well full of olive oil and that was a mess. It was hard to pass without spilling and hard to share the oil since you had to pass the whole big bread board with it. Definitely a form over function thing that caused some frustration. Most of my party got steaks and all were very happy. 2 of my party got their steaks tuscan style and although they really liked the flavors on the meat, they wished they had not gotten salads first since the tuscan style plate replaced the usual potato and veg side with an arugula salad (so double salads for those folks). One person got the pork chop and it was massive, seemed like he liked it. I got the tagliatelle ragu and it was a good portion, not obscene but I had leftovers. It kind of tasted like pot roast pasta in a decent way. I don't know if I would get it again but I was not disappointed. 2 in our party ordered dessert, creme brulee and chocolate torte. The chocolate torte was phenomenal and one person said they would have come just for that. Not a lot of non-alcohol after dinner drink options. I ordered drip coffee and it was better than most I have had after dinner at supposedly nice restaurants, although it wasn't amazing. Some at our table ordered port and the bottle was humungous - a very amusing presentation. We were celebrating 4 birthdays among our 6 diners and they brought us a very nice plate of warm, gooey, chocolate chip cookies cut into quarters to share. This was a PERFECT birthday acknowledgement. We didn't need a big dessert per person or one to share with 6 spoons. It was small, delicious, and a gracious gift. If I could do half stars I would give 4.5. There were some small misses that I would not expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It was a lovely dining experience and I would go back in a heartbeat. I really like when a restaurant lives up to its reputation and I think Truffles does.

Great spot for date night! We went for Valentine's Day and had such a delicious meal. The service…read morewas outstanding and the ambiance felt elevated and romantic - perfect for a special night out. We started with the Korean fried cauliflower and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The batter was light, fluffy, and crispy, and the gochujang sauce with the mayo was sweet and sticky in the best way. Since it's a butchery, we had to try the steaks. I ordered the 4oz filet Oscar style. The meat was tender and very well seasoned, the crab was fresh, and the homemade hollandaise really pulled it all together. My husband had the ribeye. It was a flavorful cut, a little fatty (as ribeye tends to be), but exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The steaks come with a twice-baked potato and vegetable (or you can swap for different vegetables). The potato was flavorful but fairly dense. We also did the bread service - it was good, but felt a bit pricey for the portion. We ended with the flourless chocolate torte, which was very rich and the perfect way to finish the meal - especially on Valentine's Day. Overall, the food was good and the menu is solid. The quality was there, but the portions, bread service and sides didn't fully meet expectations. That said, it was still a lovely experience and a great date-night spot.
