The cocktails were tasty; I would recommend the strawberry basil mule! Sweet with strawberry puree but not overly so. And the food was quite delicious. We ordered the Asian bbq chicken sandwich, and the biggy bbq Mac and cheese burger. Both great picks; the coleslaw on the chicken sandwich was delicious. The fries were also better than I expected. The Brass Tap opened for business in Framingham (Nobscot) on the site of the former Nobscot Shopping Center. This is their first New England location with many locations across the US. This section of Framingham (Nobscot) definitely needed a sitdown restaurant & bar since Nobscot's Cafe closed in 2022. This modern bar & restaurant offers a full service with around 60 draft beers, beer cans/bottles, wine, liquor, mixed drinks, margaritas, and cocktails. They also offer margarita flights. The pub food menu offerings include a selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, pizza, fried seafood, and dessert. They also offer $10 weekday lunch specials. The corner space is not super huge, which has big windows, seating at the bar (17), surrounded by mostly high top tables, 15 flatscreen TVs and a projector screen on the far wall with two regular tables under. There is also outside covered patio seating in front. The grand opening night April 3, 2026 was extremely busy according to staff. I stopped by for Saturday lunch (Day 2) around noon and I could seat myself. The place was moderately busy, with ample open seating. I sat at a high top which already had food & drink menus. The server stopped by promptly and I got an ice water and ordered food. For a starter, the Mac & Cheese Bites ($8.50 plus tax) had 8 deep fried Mac & Cheese bites, panko breaded filled with soft mac & cheddar cheese & in a small fry basket with a side of poblano creamy dipping sauce. The taste was savory, slightly spicy. For an entree, the Fish & Chips ($16 plus tax) had 3 pieces of crunchy breaded (beer battered) cod filets, served with salted crinkle cut fries, creamy shredded cole slaw, lemon wedge, creamy ranch and ketchup for dipping. The fried fish was nice & hot and had nice light crunch and not too greasy. The crinkle cut fries were slightly chewy and warm. I got a box for some of the food and ordered dessert. For dessert, the Bourbon Maple Brown Butter Cake ($10 plus tax) had a warm soft brown butter cake in a maple bourbon sauce, topped with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with caramel drizzle. After I was done, payment was accepted tableside with a Toast handheld device, total $36.65 with tax and before tip. Overall, I enjoyed a good filling Saturday lunch in this new spot. I tried this new place because it is so close to my house. The wait staff is very nice, which accounts for the three stars. The draught menu has a column labeled "Light and Amber Lager," but several of the beers under it are neither amber nor lager. When I asked if there are any amber beers, no one, including the bartender, knew what that is. The food menu is pretty sparse, and they list "angus blend burgers," but they don't elaborate, I had a burger, and it was perfectly cooked, but certainly not a gourmet burger. The food was good, but the service was among the worst I've experienced. My sister and I sat at the bar on a Wednesday night and were greeted warmly. The bartender introduced herself, took our beer and food orders, and gave us the standard "let me know if you need anything" introduction. After that, she completely disappeared. I'm not exaggerating- we never saw her again except from a distance. We finished our beers well before our food arrived. When a different employee brought our food, I asked if we could get a couple of waters since we had ordered spicy wings. He said, "No problem," and then never returned. A few minutes later, another bartender came by to help a guest next to us, so I quickly asked her for waters. She said she would get them, then moved on to other tasks and disappeared as well. At this point, we had been sitting with no drinks for well over 20 minutes. I eventually flagged down someone clearing dishes and asked if they could find someone to help us. Ironically, the bartender who had ignored our earlier request finally returned and asked, "What can I get you?" as if this was our first interaction. We eventually received drinks, but by then we had been without anything to drink for more than 25 minutes while sitting at the bar. The restaurant was busy, but not nearly busy enough to justify multiple staff members forgetting repeated requests for something as simple as water. The food was good (albeit pricey), but the service was completely unacceptable. No customer should have to repeatedly chase down staff members just to get a glass of water or beer refill. Not surprised to see another chain restaurant open in Framingham - starting to feel more and more like Florida. But this is a decent new spot in Framingham but be warned, the entire restaurant is open seating. Not bad if you are a couple or even a group of four, but any more than that it is like hand to hand fighting to get a spot to sit as the overall restaurant is small, even with the expanded outdoor seating on nice days. Food is good, standard pub food but the beer is over priced. Good selection but paying $9-12 per beer is outrageous. The selection is good, but nothing justifies paying that much for a beer. Other than the beer prices the only complaint would be the waitstaff. They definitely need more training. We've been there 2 times and both times that waitstaff did not know basic questions about the menu and really struggled to use the order entry tablet. Then, last week on a quiet Thursday night we had to walk around to find a waitstaff to come clear the table and then waited another 20 mins before anyone came back to take our drink order. Can't imagine what it would be like on a busier night. Might have been that the other waitress in our area was serving a large group of her friends and spent more time talking with them than helping other customers. So there is potential if they bring the beer prices down to what other similar neighborhood bars charge and if they hire competent management and waitstaff (or at least train and raise the bar for those they have). read more

Ordered a basic bacon cheese burger and fries. Issue is I ordered medium well and got a very rare burger. First time dining here last evening. Place was pretty packed. No one seats you and there is no hostess area. Seating is first come first serve which made getting a table dicey. But we managed to get a table after a few minutes. Server pleasant and knew menu well. Trio and chicken wings for appetizer. Queso so good you could drink it. I had chicken club wrap and they put the wrap in a panini press which was a nice touch. He has shrimp platter. All food delicious. With a couple of beers it was $86. For the amount of food we got plus the beers I thought the price was decent. Will be back. May make an earlier appearance next time so getting a table isn't stressful. Nicely laid out restaurant with lots of tv screens and comfortable bar seating. Very friendly wait and bar staff. We had a couple beers and wings done two ways, Thai chili and buffalo. Atmosphere and drink service was great. Drinks were very good. Place is super clean. Food service was really slow. Took 30min for garlic parm fries. Another 25 for wings to come out. It was busy yes but not busy enough to excuse such a wait time. I know this place is brand new and I trust that these kinks will be worked out in time. We arrived around 6:15 last night, a party of two. I learned from a review that it's a seat yourself restaurant. There were two unoccupied tables pulled together, which hadn't been cleared. A couple of waitresses said they would be cleared, so we stood by the table for two and waited. After several minutes, multiple waitresses cleared the dishes. We had to ask for the table to be wiped clean. Drinks were served quickly, and orders were taken. My order arrived less than a minute later. I questioned if it was for another table and was told it wasn't. I asked if it could be kept warm until the other order was ready. The chef appeared and asked if there was a problem. I repeated what I told our waitress, that we wanted to eat together. The chef said it's The Brass Tap's way to serve food when it's ready. Our meals were tasty, but the experience was unpleasant. Since it's a 'seat yourself' establishment, more effort should be placed on resetting tables. People want and expect to eat a meal together when dining out. These areas need much improvement. read more
