This place has been around for years and if you lack sodium in your diet it's the spot. Diner food that's just okay. Been a couple times because it's halfway between my residence and my gf's. Staff is super friendly and beers are cold. It is a good spot, but dial back the salt. read more

I came to watch hockey in the bar... happened to be wings night. Enjoyed wings w the buffalo sauce and, I think, chipotle mango. Impressive that with 1 cocktail, 2 beers, and my wings the total was only $24. The hockey game was tied in regulation time... and brass eagle was a winning choice. read more

Summary: Would I return? Probably not. It's a diner. Not a fancy restaurant. I wasn't expecting fine dining but I wasn't expecting sub par food. Service was quick. Potato skins were likely the best thing served. Sizable and filled generously. So a positive. Then came the entrees... One had scallops. They were barely the size of a nickel and were shriveled up aka over cooked. Rubbery. Not properly prepared. Tasteless. No real attempt at proper seasoning. One had ribs. They were not very tender and they were swimming in sauce. I mean to the point where they were yelling for help because they were drowning. One had fried shrimp. They looked like mini shrimp with more breading than shrimp. Many over-fried. Then there was my "not a filet mignon". Yeah. I call BS on this being a filet. I have never seen a filet with this much gristle and fat. It was a cheap cut made to pretend to be a filet. Could barely cut it. Looked like someone hammered it out to tenderize it. Ordered it medium. It was barely medium rare. Did not send it back as I knew they would destroy it. So I think that about sums it up. read more

Sorry to report the Brass Eagle was terrible tonight. Had to move from one room that was freezing. Finally got a booth. No menus, no waitress. Had to track her down. No apology from her for tardiness. Had to ask for dinner rolls, which came late and were stale. Sloppily-made salad with half-empty cups of dressing. Tables that came in after us were served their food before us. Roast beef tasted bad and was not tender as we were told. So-called stuffing was just bread soaked in the gravy. Did not come back soon enough to see how things were. Did not offer the complimentary dessert. Had to track her down again to get our check so that we could get out of there. read more

This place really surprised me! I wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews aren't the best. We're from the west coast out here visiting family, so our food standards can be a little absurd, lol. All the food was really good! Eggplant parm was a real 5/5! It was a huge portion! The eggplant was NOT chewy like some places but nice and crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside! I eat a lot of food and this was enough to take home. The prices are really great too! That giant plate was only $12! Back home that would cost us $20 easily! The Alfredo crab pasta was really good too! The Alfredo sauce was yummy and is homemade. I will definitely be coming back whenever we are in town! I highly recommend this restaurant. Five family members enjoyed a great meal, last night. The server was cordial, efficient and attentive. I ordered buffalo wings, a bowl of chili and a deluxe cheeseburger. As silly as it sounds, I noted the celery served with the wings was crisp, green and obviously fresh. I found the same to be true with the lettuce, tomato and onion, dressing the cheeseburger. The wings were done to perfection, not at all rubbery, with just the right crunch. The chili was very good and not too spicy. The burger was cooked medium, as requested, and was delicious. Other family members enjoyed grilled salmon, stuffed chicken breasts and ham steak. Everyone commented on how they enjoyed their meal. Prices were on par with market value, and well worth the price given the freshness, portion size and taste. My husband came upon this restaurant by mistake back in July of 2024, and it was late, and we were hungry, so we stopped. The food was amazing. The restaurant was very clean and our server wonderful so, not to forget the place, we took a picture of their sign. We had to come back to PA on business and looked up their hours. Their website says open until 10pm. Great... we were going to be there in plenty of time. We walked in at 9 p.m., and the young woman said they were closed, but we could go downstairs. So, we asked how to get downstairs. She said, "Drive around the back, and you'll see the stairs." SO, we did and went down the stairs. WHAT A MISTAKE. This is a hard-core bar with full-on cigarette smoke, pool table, and you name it. DISGUSTING! The bar tender was SO FOCUSED on her regulars that she ignored my husband when he asked for another drink. We were in there MAYNE 45 minutes and left there stinking like an ashtray. I've been stopping in a lot at this Restaurant for the last few weeks. My meals have been very Good! Last night I had a Fried seafood combination dinner. It was Excellent and for the price that much better. In fact I think this Fried seafood combination would be much better in a much more fancier Seafood house. Can't beat it! We stopped in for a late breakfast and were pleased with the meals. Everything we had was pretty good and between us we had a pretty good breakfast sampling including pancakes, over easy eggs, an omelet, bacon, sausage, scrapple, home fries, toast, and 2 soups. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and overall we had a pretty good time eating here. Wow! It's been a long time since I just walked into a restaurant without consulting Yelp. But here we were driving through Amish Country on a Sunday and all the Amish places were closed, so we decided to try the Brass Eagle Inn. It sounded more like a bar to me but the Inn is actually a huge family/diner style restaurant. The menu is huge with almost anything you could want. For me, that usually means the restaurant does not specialize in one thing and the food is mediocre. That was pretty much the case for the Brass Eagle Inn. The best part of the meal came first: Soup! There were a variety of seafood soups on the menu. Our lovely server actually let us try a couple and three of us decided on the Corn Shrimp Bisque. Mmmmm...not too sweet, with a slight tinge of spice, this soup was just divine! I was so glad I ordered a bowl! Husband ordered the Mixed Appetizer Platter. Yuch!! A bunch of fried junk: Chicken tenders, potato skins, etc. I know, you are probably thinking, "what do you expect from junk food?" But this was really bad junk food. For our mains, 11 year old and I split Crab Cakes. They were not bad tasting but had a lot of filling in them. I have had much better crab cakes on this trip. Husband liked his Seafood Platter. 12 year old really enjoyed his Ravioli. I know that because he almost finished all of it (something he rarely does!) One really positive aspect about the The Brass Eagle Inn? The service! Our sever was not only friendly but so agreeable to everything we asked. Our food also came out lighting fast. It was our first time at the Brass Eagle Restaurant. There as no wait to be seated and we were offered a table or booth. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer on a recommendation by our server, Lillian, and it was very good. We both ordered the veal cutlet with gravy and it was delicious. The coleslaw is pretty amazing too! For dessert we got the caramel cheesecake, OH MY GOODNESS, it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Some of the best cheesecake we had ever eaten!! Went here for breakfast. From the moment you walked in you could see the separation of clients. In the older (nicer) dining area were the older clients. In the newer not as nice were the families and "younger" clients. The food came out timely but not exactly very flavorful. Almost rushed tasting, not made with a whole lot of care. I came to the Brass Eagle with a larger party of on a Friday night. The restaurant was not busy, which should have been a red flag. I am not one to write many bad reviews, but this place was bad. I am a server myself, and there is no excuse for the level of service we received. We arrived and waited at least 10 minutes to be greeted after being sat. When we finally got our drinks, a few people in my party agreed that the drinks had an "off" taste to them, maybe due to the cups. After another 10 or 15 minutes, we finally had the chance to put our orders in. I ordered the eggplant Parm. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, and when it finally came out, I was not satisfied. I took one bite of the eggplant parm and wanted to spit it out. It was soggy and barely done at all. The marinara had a very strange sour taste to it. I didn't eat my eggplant but instead ate my sides of spaghetti and mashed potatoes which were mediocre. Also, they advertise that you get a free meal after the purchase of an entree but there was no mention of it after. We waited another 15 minutes after being done for the check, and then another 15 or 20 minutes to be cashed out. The restaurant was practically empty by this point. I am very disappointed in my whole experience. The only good thing about this place is the complimentary garlic bread. I will not be returning and would not recommend the Brass Eagle to anyone. read more

I will never eat this place ever again. Me and my fiancée went here a couple months ago and we both had crab dishes. I got deathly sick for 3 days with major vomiting and diarrhea. I called them and told them I got sick from there food. It was instantaneous. They reassured me it wasn't there seafood because there crab goes pretty quick. Never again worst sickness I've ever been through from food related illness. There was no apology or we will look into that further. Just denial and arguments.
