Don't miss this restaurant in your visit to Lancaster's Amish country, even though it is in Quarryville. It's worth going there. Service is great - friendly Amish and Mennonite women. The food is delicious! There's a dinner special most evenings. I've had the chicken pot pie, the Amish wedding dinner, and my favorite - the chicken croquettes! Their apple pie is great, the side chicken salad and macaroni salad are great. They have good strawberry jam. There's plenty of seating, there's a second room with beautiful murals. You'll see locals eating there, many times owners of local Amish businesses and community members, even people who came from far. Highly recommend you visit!

There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant. It has a simple interior, the scenic room has a lovely mural. The service was friendly. The food was great. My Rueben was one of the best I have had. The thousand island dressing was perfect and the pastrami was cooked well. The bread is made onsite. The hand cut fries were yummy and I loved the potato salad. My husband also enjoyed his Rueben and coleslaw. We left happy and wanting to come back and try the dinner which has some traditional Amish options.

It takes a little getting to this place but it is worth it. The Crab Bisque special and open face roast beef was excellent. The service was top notch, took our order quickly and got food out without any delays. It as an open kitchen area that you can observe them preparing your food and the prices were reasonable for the large quantity of food they provide. I would definitely come back here if I'm anywhere nearby.

I went to this place for the first time with my parents who have been here before. I got the chicken pot pie which I thought was really good. My parents liked the food here before but this time it was just okay. All the sides are pretty big portions. The service was a little slow but they were busy. There's two different sides, one is nice and modern and the other is more for kids. You can choose to sit wherever you want.

Service was quick. Food was delicious, warm homemade rolls with their home made peanut butter spread was complimentary but truly was a foreshadowing for the meal! I ordered the open face roast beef with mashed potatoes with gravy and Mac and cheese-- all delicious. My significant other order the wings-- super crispy and well sauced. Our children got the hot dog and chicken fingers. For dessert we tried the apple dumpling it came out steaming hot with homemade ice cream. We frequent Lancaster but it was our first time hearing about it and experiencing it. It is completely worth any wait! All the items for decor in the restaurant are for sale which is adorably decorated.

The food was ok - personally the food was too sweet for most of us but we went for the experience. I thought it wasn't anything super different from American food. I think their home made pies are something to try - the crust and crumble on their pies are a little different from typical American style pies - may be a little more dry and crumbly??. I didn't love the crumble but I liked the pie crust, but my husband loved it all. Doesn't hurt to try once but only for the experience.

I stopped by here yesterday with my family for dinner. We had ridden the Strasburg Railroad earlier…read morein the day and were looking for a place to eat when I fired up Yelp and found the Tavern by Spring House Brewing. It is located on East Main Street in downtown Strasburg. The inside consists of a large main room with an L shaped bar, a number of TVs, and then a second dining room off to the side. Since no one was seated in the second room and we had twin four year olds with us, we chose that space. Unfortunately the TV in that room was broken, so we were not able to watch the Steelers game that was on. Aside from that, the room itself had a cozy and slightly eclectic feel. There was a decorated Christmas tree lit up in the corner near the staircase which gave the space a warm seasonal vibe. The walls were decorated with brewery signs and beer themed banners, and a bright yellow decorative mantel stood out against the darker wall colors. Overall it felt casual and welcoming and worked well for a family dinner. For dinner on this evening I went with the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak while my wife chose the K Town Mac Bowl. The menu described my wife's dish as three cheese cavatappi pasta with smoked pork slaw, Korean BBQ drizzle, sesame seeds, and scallions. My sandwich was described as smoked chicken, American cheese, buffalo sauce, gorgonzola, onion frizzles, ranch drizzle, and a hoagie roll. I thought my sandwich ended up being good, especially since it was chock full of chicken. The hoagie roll was toasted and buttered nicely and added a good crunch, which the onion frizzles helped reinforce. The gorgonzola added a nice pungent pop of flavor. While I did get some buffalo flavor, I definitely could have used more. Because of that, the sandwich was a little on the drier side despite having cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch drizzle. My fries were seasoned and had a nice texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Spring House Brewing, a flight consists of four beers and I chose the Cucumber Salamander, Backroads Shadows, Daily Planet, and Love and Rockets. The Love and Rockets ended up getting mixed up and I was instead served Grease the Poles. I started with the Cucumber Salamander, which is a sour. It was a bit tart right from the start and that carried through to the finish, with a little extra pucker at the end. Up next was Backroads Shadows, a lager with a crisp, clean start before the malts came through on the finish. This felt like a really good easy drinking beer. Third was Daily Planet, an IPA that had citrus up front followed by a solid hop presence that carried through the finish. Last was Grease the Poles, a pale lager that started off very clean before finishing with some lighter hop notes. Out of the bunch, the Cucumber Salamander was definitely my favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Our food and drinks were good, and I would be interested in trying more of their beers.

Service was lacking. Waitress seemed annoyed and not happy. Wait was not long for a table but…read morewaited quite awhile to be greeted. Looked like there was only 2 servers for the entire place which was busy. My husband liked his chili, so that's the two star review. He said it had a lot of flavor. I had the brisket sandwich which was very small for the price with not a lot of meat. The meat had no flavor at all. Was not served with the au ju, which I had to ask for. Unfortunately, the au ju did not make it any better. The Cole slaw had a good flavor and was not sweet, so that was the best part of the food.
