They had Shiner Bock on tap (that was my chaser) and the Bloody's were delish! Pickle, mushrooms, beef stick and all the rest hit the spot. Looked at the menu and decided on a mushroom swiss burger. We didn't order a split, but the server was nice enough to bring us both a plate, and it was all divided up already! The burger was hot and fresh and the swiss cheese pull was on point. Fries were sour cream and onion wedges, split on our two plates as well. It's a neat little place with good/friendly service. Check it out on a road trip! Bonus- There are some nice deer heads in this place as well. As a hunter and WIsconsinite, I appreciate that. :)

The pretzels come in 4 sticks and they must make them fresh there because they were so soft and painted with butter. Not the box kind. I wanted to take a picture of the curds but they were gone before I could. I got the plain chicken sandwich. I loved the fries, nice and hot and balance of salt. Wanted to save room for all of the desserts. We got the chocolate cake and pumpkin cheesecake. I was expecting a ridiculously large piece but they were kind of small. I will say, the perfect size for one person. We shared them between 4 of us. Will go back when we are in the area. Great pick! You will agree I am pretty sure ;)

And service is hit or miss - sometimes, its a student that'll offer perfectly adequate service in lieu of speed, and sometimes its senior employees that play nice only on their good days. A grumpy older woman handed over my food and then demanded that I use the almost-empty ketchup bottle before opening the newer one, which is ... fine, I get it. But not a shining star of hospitality. As far as the food goes, it's pretty good. The burgers are satisfying, and most of the appetizers are adequate despite obviously being straight from the freezer. The jalapeno poppers in particular don't taste like much at all.

They have daily soup options, sandwiches, and dinners. Plenty of seating and parking as well. We had great service today, very attentive with refilling water and bringing takeout boxes. We enjoyed the baked cod dinner with homemade coleslaw, and fries. (Their fries are always good.) Another family member enjoyed the Reuben, also with fries. The menu offers several burger or grilled chicken options, which is great -- we enjoyed a chicken sandwich with avocado, bacon and cheese with an upgrade to the sweet potato fries. (Their sweet potato fries are also delicious.) Only criticism is the bacon was very fatty and not crispy. This is a nice sit-down option for families, and a great alternative to the fast food places in town. One of our favorites in Whitewater.
