I don't think this place has been cleaned in years. You can feel the grease and smoke that clings to the walls. And service is hit or miss - sometimes, its a student that'll offer perfectly adequate service in lieu of speed, and sometimes its senior employees that play nice only on their good days. A grumpy older woman handed over my food and then demanded that I use the almost-empty ketchup bottle before opening the newer one, which is ... fine, I get it. But not a shining star of hospitality. As far as the food goes, it's pretty good. The burgers are satisfying, and most of the appetizers are adequate despite obviously being straight from the freezer. In an effort to get to know other work staff better, we decided to grab a couple drinks and socialize here--BIG MISTAKE. A smiling old woman sat at our table and greeted us. She was fine until she inserted herself into our conversation and wouldn't allow us to continue our staff outing without her. She began to poke a member of our party and belittled her, "you're a snobby Chicagoan, aren't you?!" continuing to touch and poke her. "An experienced bartender and bar manager for over 30 years..." begins the owners statement. As the situation escalated she declared, "This is my bar, you aren't about to back me down in my own bar. I own this place--this is my place!" She continued with name calling and profanities. Owner was drunk, pulled a chair and sat down at our table. She said hello and we all said hi but continued to try to get us to hang out together when we just wanted to be alone. She was rude and got heated when all we wanted to do was be by ourselves. She kept touching one of us and bugging us with personal questions. Stopped in to have a burger with friends and it wasn't even edible. It was Gray and tasted funky. The fries were soggy. After trying to explain this to the bartender , he walks away saying nothing. Manager I think comes out and says "idk what to tell u " no apology or anything. Staff customer service was non existent. Will never eat there again , and recommend to eat any other place when stopping at this place. Had dinner here. Wife had the 1/4lb burger and I had the 1/2 lb cheeseburger. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer. Burgers delicious. One of the few places that doesn't over cook patty. Nice atmosphere and staff were attentive. read more

If you are in Whitewater, you need to go here. No ifs, ands, or butts about it! Massive burgers sandwiched between two slices of texas toast. Fried delights such as onion rings and cheese curds and bloody marys so tasty you'll be begging for more. It is a bar, but our family including my son and mother-in-law were able to get a table and enjoy our massive lunch there. There was also a christening party there with a baby in tow as well. The owner was there behind the bar cooking and clearing tables and entertaining as well. Great place, great food, great people! read more

A fun place with an interesting blend of towns people and college students. If you're looking for a quiet place you should probably look someplace else , as this is a college bar as well as a town bar with inexpensive drinks and specials as well as good burgers and traditional Wisconsin Tavern food . Yummy ranch fries and chicken strips. The service is fine during the week, but I've found that during the college year it's usually understaffed after 9pm. Definitely a good lunch spot though. Poor customer service...... My boyfriend and I went here for the first time today. We walked in and didn't know if we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, so we just stood there like idiots. The bartender was the only employee we saw and she didn't even notice us. After standing there for about five minutes, we decided to leave. Also, they didn't have their a/c on. I'm sure their food is good, but I haven't had a chance to eat it yet........ I will give it a second chance. read more

Took my girl out for a drink for her 21st and we got there at 1:15 when they said they close at 2 but their doors were locked. Ridiculous.
