    Fish fry

We were seated right away. Wasn't super busy on a Friday night and we were looking for a fish fry. We had Moscow mules and a few of their beers. The mules were so delicious! We started with cheese curds to eat, HIGHLY recommend. Sauce was tasty. I was super surprised their fish fry was so delicious as well! Salem Mac was very good, definitely a huge portion. Wouldn't recommend the wings unless you like them not as crispy. The inside is "Salem" themed and we really enjoyed it. My mother in law enjoyed the gambling machines as well!

Stopped in for a late lunch after an event at UWW. Plenty of parking in the lot. Seated right away, bartender served us quickly. The food came out hot, and everything was tasty! The honey sriracha chicken sandwich was the favorite. Refilled our drinks without having to ask. Relaxed atmosphere, had the basketball game on - great place to grab a bite.

Stopped in with a friend for a beer and some appetizers, and we weren't disappointed! It was my first time in downtown Whitewater, and it's a cute area. Second Salem was very empty when we arrived, and remained that way pretty much the whole time we were there. My guess is that students are gone now, but it was surprisingly a ghost town during Memorial Day weekend. My friend and I both opted for the Old Main Golden Ale on tap, and it was very tasty! This beer has a smooth, hoppy taste with a finish of white wine and flowery notes. For appetizers, we ordered the cheese curds and Bavarian pretzel. The cheese curds were AMAZING! I love that it was very lightly fried, so you get more of a mouthful of cheese than breading. The ranch tasted homemade, and I LOVE homemade ranch. The pretzel almost seemed deep friend, although that isn't a complaint from me! It was accompanied by mustard and beer cheese, and the mustard was very flavorful - the beer cheese, not so much. Overall we had a great experience, and I would return again if I am back in the area!

The service was friendly, but in end, that is the only positive. We didn't partake in any food, but we did partake in a flight of beer. Firstly, the place is kind of dirty. That is a not going to make me want to order food. Secondly, the beer is ok at best. The art work is interesting and kind of spooky/evil. Plenty of pics from others to display that. I get it, it's Salemesque. The beer names and art are creative and cool. In end, the beer didn't wet my whistle, and I feel the establishment could use a good swabbing. Also, I came on the Harley, and that parking lot was rougher/wavier than the Atlantic Ocean in a Nor'easter. Beware.

This was great little brewery! Awesome service and the food was great. It had a great feel and was very relaxed. I had the fish fry seeing I went in on a Friday night. The fish was cooked perfectly Ann's the breading was perfect. The fries that came as a side were nice and crispy. I tried the Vienna Brew beer that was recommended by the guy behind the bar and it was one of the best beers I've ever had. All the beer is brewed by them. If I didn't have work I definitely would've tried a few others... If your ever in Whitewater, WI this spot is a must. Like I said the service is top notch, the eats and delicious and the beer is smooth going down.

We stopped here for a quick drink on a Friday night. Small-ish spot with a full bar and menu. We all ordered specialty cocktails and they were delicious. We had already eaten dinner, but decided to get some cheese curds anyway. Not sure what they are served with but it definitely didn't taste like ranch. Other food photos look good so maybe we just got an off day.

    The Apparition IPA

A quick Yelp search found me this place, & the "Mac & Cheese" on the menu brought me in. Stepping inside, it's an open, clean, and inviting space. Started off with the "Apparition" IPA (can't go wrong with an IPA) and some cheese curds to start. Ordered the "Mac & Cheese" with chicken as my entree, and took an "Oreo Cheesecake" home for later. Overall, I'm excited to come back here, and if you're looking at this...do not hesitate to stop in! Pros: attentive service Variety of options (beer/food) Vegetarian friendly (beyond burger) Portion friendly (I took about 1/3 of my Mac home)

I met my dad and sister here for dinner and it was a really nice spot. I had the Apparition IPA and the southwest salad, both very good.

The food was excellent! We didn't know what to expect, being a slow holiday weekend. The beer I tried was great as well.

It smelled dirty. That's like the biggest turn off. The food was not terrible, but it did smell dirty.

Tyranena Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale: Although I've become less of a beer guy since my college…read moredays, I like to try at least one new pumpkin beer each fall. Tyranena was founded in Lake Mills, WI by Rob Larson in 1999. Although that's within my lifetime, it was well before my beer drinking days. Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale (PLPSA) comes in at an above average 7.25% ABV with an IBU of 22. The bottle depicts multiple pumpkins painted with makeup to resemble women. The term "Painted Ladies" has a few different meanings. It was chosen for Lake Mill's "The Painted Ladies Fling" because the word is often used for Victorian and Edwardian buildings that are painted in ways that help to enhance their architectural details. The fling helps to highlight business and building owners who have embellished and enhanced their buildings throughout the year. Alternatively, it can be used as a synonym for prostitute, and that's why it was chosen for this ale as some of the more adventurous women in Lake Mills dress as painted ladies during the Fling event. PLPSA is an amber ale that pours an opaque copper color with surprisingly little head. There are notes of caramel and toffee, along with pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove). I found this to be an easy beer to drink as the none of the flavors were overly pronounced (although this could also be a criticism for some). I would say it's a relatively average pumpkin beer, but that's high praise from someone who doesn't drink much beer. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My favorite Pumpkin Beers: 1. Southern Tier Pumking Imperial Ale 2. Saint Arnold Pumpkinator Imperial Stout 3. New Belgium Pumpkick Ale 4. Cold Brew Coffee Pumking Nitro 5. Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Shandy
