Deep fried mushrooms

What an amazing gem! This place is so cute inside. We stopped by in a Friday. They had an amazing two piece fish fry for $13.50. They also had pull tab happy hour where you draw for an amount off your drink! The bartenders were amazing!! The martini was top notch! Donna is the best :) didn't get a picture of the fish because we devoured it but it was amazing! And so were the fries. I can't wait to come back and try their extensive menu.

What a neat find in Cambridge. Loved not only their menu but the fact they are taking the time to make things in house. Their home made crab rangoon was a great starter with a house blend of their crab and cream cheese. I opted for their cuban. Served on a telera toll, there made have been too much bread for my liking. A harder press/sear on the flattop may be of benefit. A very solid drink and beer menu rounds out an excellent meal. In summer months, they have a great patio to sit out on. Definitely did not disappoint.

Elote nachos

Wonderful little bar out in Cambridge, WI. We stopped here so we could watch the women's Olympic gold match in soccer and were really happy with how queer friendly and wonderful the space was. The elote nachos were delicious and they had so many great things available on their menu as well. They also had a wide range of beers, cocktails and THC drinks. They have ample seating and a very clean space as well as several tvs to watch the game on. Would definitely stop in here again!

Goat cheese balls!

I love this place, always something new and fun to try. Events to go to, and everyone is welcome. Also an awesome outdoor area with nice tables and umbrellas, right next to the golf course.

Donna makes a great drink! Makers and ginger beer.

Stopped into this place as we were passing through on our way to Madison. It was fantastic! So glad we stopped! Donna the bartender greeted us with a big smile and "welcome in!" when we walked in the door, which really set the stage for our expertise there. We were just going to grab a drink but stayed for a couple and ordered some food because we were having such a great time. We ordered onion rings, bang bang shrimp, and crab Rangoon. It was all delicious! There were a few regulars at the bar, and everyone was so friendly and the environment was so welcoming, we didn't want to leave. We are already planning on stopping here again on our way back home.

Excellent Friday fish fry. Now includes salad bar. Cheap mixed drink prices and great service. What more could you want?

We opted to sit at the bar where there were only a few other patrons. We were amazed at how nice it was inside. Everything seemed to shine, it was so clean - and there was a lovely amount of natural light. The bar was large and there were plenty of seating for dining only - sort of in the same area. There was a smaller back room with some slot machines and a golf game as well. I thought everyone that was working looked genuinely happy to be there. Our service at the bar was phenomenal from the second we got there. Our drinks were poured nicely and refilled quickly. I ordered the 2 piece fried cod with sour cream and chive french fries. My husband had the fried blue gill with sweet potato fries. The fish was breaded perfectly, cornmeal maybe?? Everything came out really fast - almost too fast. I'm sure they were just getting ready for a busy Friday night and wanted to turn tables over. People were consistently pouring in while we were eating. I'm positive this place is on a wait every Friday night after 5p. We both thought that the amount/quality of the food was superb for the price. I had debated ordering the 3 piece cod, glad I didn't. We were both stuffed when we left! If we're ever in the area again, we will absolutely be stopping here.

Tyranena Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale: Although I've become less of a beer guy since my college…read moredays, I like to try at least one new pumpkin beer each fall. Tyranena was founded in Lake Mills, WI by Rob Larson in 1999. Although that's within my lifetime, it was well before my beer drinking days. Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale (PLPSA) comes in at an above average 7.25% ABV with an IBU of 22. The bottle depicts multiple pumpkins painted with makeup to resemble women. The term "Painted Ladies" has a few different meanings. It was chosen for Lake Mill's "The Painted Ladies Fling" because the word is often used for Victorian and Edwardian buildings that are painted in ways that help to enhance their architectural details. The fling helps to highlight business and building owners who have embellished and enhanced their buildings throughout the year. Alternatively, it can be used as a synonym for prostitute, and that's why it was chosen for this ale as some of the more adventurous women in Lake Mills dress as painted ladies during the Fling event. PLPSA is an amber ale that pours an opaque copper color with surprisingly little head. There are notes of caramel and toffee, along with pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove). I found this to be an easy beer to drink as the none of the flavors were overly pronounced (although this could also be a criticism for some). I would say it's a relatively average pumpkin beer, but that's high praise from someone who doesn't drink much beer. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My favorite Pumpkin Beers: 1. Southern Tier Pumking Imperial Ale 2. Saint Arnold Pumpkinator Imperial Stout 3. New Belgium Pumpkick Ale 4. Cold Brew Coffee Pumking Nitro 5. Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Shandy

Stopped in on a recent Saturday for lunch. It was relatively quiet so bellied up to the bar…read more Sauer's is pretty spacious inside with the requisite gaming machines along the wall. My server/bartender was attentive and very welcoming. A solid selection of taps, cans/bottles and your standard offering of booze. They do have a menu of different old fashioneds for those inclined. Their menu is your standard pub options-appetizers, pizza, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and fish on Fridays. I opted for one of their daily specials-steak sandwich. I opted for the upgrade for the side of fries that came with and selected the pickle chips. I am glad I did as they are some of the best I have tasted in quite sometime. Thinly sliced, they were perfectly fried with a thin batter that didn't hide the flavor of the pickle. The sandwich also hit the mark-tender steak nestled between a ciabatta bun. It was great. Highly recommend checking out Sauer's-a solid pub with some great food.

My spouse ordered the grilled cheese, which said on the menu it came with a choice of two cheeses. When he said which two cheeses he wanted, the waitress said that would be an extra charge. When he pointed to the menu, she said "she'd have to check". She never came back to tell us if he got two cheeses or not. We weren't given any utensils, so I had to get up and get my own from the hostess station. My burger had a very strong taste of livestock and barnyard. I also ordered an ice water which was almost undrinkable. At least invest in a faucet filter, guys. The homemade chips with garlic cream cheese were very good, though. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought our check, but then came and took it away from us because she forgot to add the beer my spouse ordered because their water had such a bad taste. Since she had already dropped the ball so many times, this could have been an opportunity to extend a gesture of good will and give it to him on the house, but alas. In addition, they have kind of a snotty little sign in the entrance demanding you wipe your feet as if you're a child, and they proudly display that they do not offer any service for their ample patio seating. Just not a great experience.
