This was so much more fun than I anticipated!…read more Sabrina (hostess/art teacher/lovely woman) led us through a fun filled 2 hours of my first ever nude sketching session! She was upbeat, informative, respectful to both the sketchers (us) and the models. Made sure there were no photography during class unless it's through them to make the models comfortable. (takes guts to be nude in front of a bunch of people drinking and looking at you!) She brought out the artistic sides of everyone in the room, guided us through different sketching exercises (1-3-5 minute sketch sessions) so we're busy drawing instead of JUDGING what we were drawing. such helpful tips! I think we were all VERY impressed with our own artworks! I really thought I'd be drawing a little more than stick figures before coming here. I had a blast and this would make any gathering unique, fun and explorative! I had an amazing time!

I would recommend The Artful Bachelorette to anyone looking for a fun activity to do (whether…read morecelebrating or not!). Like our host said, they do it all from engagement celebrations to happy divorce parties! All skill levels are welcome, and your host will walk you through a variety of different exercises at different speeds. Our model was graceful, poised, and cool as a cucumber. I would love to do this again someday with a group of friends for a girls night! (P.S. I would love to see photos from the Boston event if the host has them!)

Customer service, friendly. Rules and polices, AWFUL. They make it impossible to rebook. Had to…read morecancel due to an illness and was given a time to rebook, but the time wasn't enough, especially with the holidays around. They were not willing to be flexible to allow for rebooking. It's truly the easiest way for them to KEEP your money. As parents with NO VILLAGE and no one to watch our children we are extremely limited with timing. Very disappointed that I couldn't experience this. And very disappointed that I couldn't enjoy this. I gave the rep the exact date and time that I wanted to book for but because it was "out of their window", they didn't allow me to book. That said, if you ever think you're going to have a MINOR inconvenience. DON'T BOOK HERE!!!

My family went yesterday for a girls' day, and we had a great time painting together. The girls…read moreworking there were wonderful--very friendly and helpful, which really added to the experience. However, we were very surprised by the drink prices. The board only listed single prices, and there was no pricing shown for doubles or larger drinks. After looking later, I saw that the full price breakdown is on the website, but I wish we had known this before ordering. Being charged $29 for an espresso martini, and 29 for a mule served in a plastic cup with no garnishes was pretty outrageous and definitely took us by surprise. I understand now when I put my apron on and found 3 empty nips in the pocket why this happened. Clearly the person that wore it before me had been before and paid too much! Overall, the painting experience and staff were great, just would wait next time and get a drink at the capital grill for the same price after.

I'm…read moreimpressed how they were able to quickly bring the program online in light of the unexpected challenges of the virus. They even offered to deliver the supplies until shipping was available so people could participate. The teacher broke the steps down to simplify a complex painting, and carefully demonstrated each of the techniques. They even broke the class out into breakout rooms so friends could work together from home. Overall, it was a terrific experience.

The Paint Bar is a lot of fun, and no matter how little talent you have (I can't draw a circle…read morewithout Powerpoint), you can indeed create a masterpiece (ok, maybe it will only sell for $2 at your garage sale in 10 years, but your very small children will be impressed). I suggest arriving 30 minutes early, so that you don't get stuck in the line waiting for paints and can focus on importing things like buying a glass of wine. It also helps to be seated near the small stage in front so that you can easily see the example completed painting on the wall. They rotate through a selection of different ones, which are specified on the website when you buy your tickets, so don't pick a class that will paint a lame one like the happy dolphin! Also, you need to see the instructor, who will demonstrate painting an additional example on the stage. The instructor was quite funny, and fairly clear in explaining the individual steps one by one, although she went pretty quickly. The full 2 hours are necessary to complete the painting, and if you fall behind, you will miss some of the tricks or paint combinations. If you bring a date, be sure to praise how much better his or her piece is than yours, over and over again. Artists are sensitive, and who knows, you might get lucky later. If you have talent, maybe your painting will end up in Somerville's Museum of Bad Art, and not in a garage sale!
