Plenty of prejudiced customer service & vintage books. The bald white guy behind counter chose to completely ignore non-white customers. He chose not to speak a single word to us our entire time in the shop. He did, however, choose to greet a teenage white girl who wandered into the shop with his entire spiel, including "Welcome to The Book Store." She left a few minutes after, not purchasing a thing. I passed him several times in the 30 minutes we were here on 8/12/15 at around 5pm. Not a single word towards us; not a single greeting acknowledging our presence, despite being the ONLY two other people in this tiny shop. If you are going to ignore the customers...ignore ALL of them. Not just the non-whites. I almost bought something, but his service spoke volumes. Decided against my possible purchase, since this place wasn't worth feeling devalued as a customer. The guy continued to ignore us as we left, cackling loudly at something on his computer. Creepy. As for the book selection here, check out my pictures. Lots of vintage books.

What I ended up buying today, 34 dollars total

Visited the store for the first time. I don't know much about rare books, but this store is apparently more of a rare book seller/dealer than a current book seller. I enjoyed the antique ness of the place, just browsing with the "let's see if they have something I want" kind of mentality. The store definitely does not stock complete collections of contemporary authors or genera. You'll see a handful of each category, some more and some fewer. I didn't meet the shop owner. The younger guy with glasses didn't watch me like a hawk like the other comments mentioned. He did let me pet the cute dog Elke behind the counter I'd definitely visit again, and just buy whatever I happen to find interesting to me at the moment.

    Indeed.

I am a huge fan of reading books…read more I listen to audiobooks when I work out in the gym or go for my daily walks instead of listening to music; however, I truly appreciate the feel of holding a book in my hands and turning page by page to really get into what I am reading. This is the reason I enjoy visiting this bookstore. I can be selective in whichever category I wish to purchase and read at the moment. I also have a paid membership to their discount program, which offers various benefits, including discounts on my purchases. This store is always fully stocked and well-maintained, and its employees are friendly and ready to assist customers with whatever they need. The selection of books and topics to read is endless, and they even offer a clearance and discounted section at the rear of the store. As for me, I have, and will forever, love being around books, which is why I will remain a loyal customer.

The good: the store filled an order I'd placed through the app quickly; the bad: half the order wasn't able to be completed because it wasn't actually in stock. I don't know if this was an app error or store error, but it was a bit of a bummer and now I'll have to visit another location for that item. My favorite section to visit as a crafter is Arts & Hobbies, which is on the store's left close to the stationery and gifts area. The cafe is to the right of the entrance. Fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy are toward the middle, while music and collectibles are located toward the back. Something to keep in mind, unlike the Long Beach and Del Amo/Torrance locations, Glendora doesn't have as substantial a bargain book and DIY kit section, which I like to frequent for my nieces. However, the kids' section is pretty sizable and can be found in the back left. This B&N is in the same plaza as Best Buy, PetSmart, and AMC theaters, so it can get busy although there is plentiful parking. I haven't tried the cafe at this particular location - maybe next time!

Scholastics was the leading authority when it came to giving children access to a cheap book. In the last year the moral has been low and I had to drop them. The woman that ran the warehouse I think her name was "Rachel" gave her very BEST for years! Clearly it showed that her heart was in the right place. That day came to a dead end when she "Quite!" The day she took off crying! That day was probably the saddest day ever for Scholastic's in Anaheim CA. Another woman behind the scenes as known as "Dorothy" gives nothing but her blood and soul to deliver only the best. I am compelled to talk about all these fine girls behind the scenes. That it is clear that not one is appreciated. Things have change for the worst in Anaheim CA warehouse. To the authorities of Scholastics Bookfair "You are doing a good job in destroying" this warehouse location. Basically you cut off the wings of your staff and blind folded their eyes. Now! If you can drive to the Anaheim warehouse to access books sales that is as fantastic as it realistically will get. Good luck!

The workers are pretty nice there are no complaints there. My complaint is the prices of things as a lot of the stuff there is quite overpriced, especially the textbooks, hoodies and school merch, and the school supplies. The snacks are also pricy and is a bit or miss depending on what you're getting but you're paying for the convenience I guess. Also keep in mind that they have no bags so bring your own.

Although this bookstore is very clean, organized, and have a variety of items you need on the first and second floor - I recommend you buy your school supplies somewhere cheaper (like Walmart, daiso, amazon) & save yourself some money. Books will be really pricey & other school supplies cost around $5-$20. I only shop here for scantrons & pencils, as they're the cheapest items & every student needs them. And as any other university bookstore, be aware during the beginning of each semester, midterm & finals weeks as lines will be long wait before you cash out your items. TIP: BRING A BAG OR REUSABLE BAG if you're purchasing more than a few items. They don't give you plastic bags.
