Seafood boil spread. Crawfish, shrimp, rice, and sweet potato fries.
    Linda N.

Came here on a Sunday night because the girlies and I were craving seafood boil. We came here during Super Bowl and it wasn't crowded until we finished and left. The game was playing on every single TV so we weren't missing much. Normally boiling crab is always super busy (and for good reason) but we only had to wait like 5 min for our table to be prepared and then we were seated. Our waitress took our order but skipped over me by accident. I thought it was strange because my friend didn't order a lot of food prior. Not sure if she thought we were sharing or not. She just ordered a pound of crawfish. Weird. I ordered one pound of shrimp in the whole sha bang with medium spice. It definitely had a kick but was enjoyable. I took one star off because my shrimp was overcooked to the point it was mushy. Taste wise it was fantastic. Strong garlic flavor - just the way I like it. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries on the side and a bowl of rice. The sweet potato fries came out hot and crispy. In the past it's always been soggy so it was nice to get it fresh. I'll be back once the craving hits again for seafood boil. The sauce is what keeps me coming back. I've tried other places and I don't like it because the same tastes sweet.

Service and food is amazing From all boiling restaurants this definitely is my favorite one! The flavor is unique

LOVE boiling crab! Checked out this location, and it was as amazing as the others. Wonderful service and it definitely is a popular place on a Friday evening (~2 hour wait on peak times). We joined the waitlist in advance so it was just a one our wait for us. The quality of the shrimp and crawfish were amazing! The sauce also had chunks of garlic in it that I loved

I came for lunch for a birthday party. Everyone ordered a variety of menu items including crab legs, Cajun hot wings, Shabang Bang shrimp, Shabang Bang scallops, corn, and fries. I ordered the clams in butter sauce. I wanted the Cajun seasoning on the side so I could control sodium levels but they wanted an $5 up charge for a small little side of seasoning. I thought that was ridiculous, so I passed. The clams were pretty good. The garlic butter sauce was tasty and each clam had a decent amount of meat in them. The only problem is that they disappeared quickly. Thankfully I had ordered a piece of corn. At over $20 both items, the meal was not filling. I went to eat elsewhere when I was finished here because I was still hungry. The service was good. The employees were in high spirits and had good attitudes. The place is fairly loud and they don't give you plates.

They are always busy! It's best to set a reservation ahead of time or try to add yourself to the Yelp waitlist beforehand. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Considering how busy they were, our service was excellent. They used to offer pretailored seafood bags but not anymore. Everything is ordered as a la carte now. Prices have sky rocketed and can become quite expensive. The seasonings of everything we ordered were quite tasty but some seafood were well overcooked, which made it hard to peel and eat. Warning for those who'd order mild flavor: it still has a good spicy kick.

Boiling Crab will always hit! I originally used to go to the one back in Rowland Heights/ LA area - they definitely need to open more locations because it's always so popular but always so far! I'm a foodie so I'll make the drive, but I'd go even more if it was closer. The line is what gets you every time, but if you're down to wait, it's so worth it! It's always fun bringing people here who've never tried a seafood boil before - they never know what to expect, and watching their reactions when you're all eating straight off the table is the best part. Messy, spicy, buttery goodness everywhere. The calamari is amazing! The Cajun fries are an absolute 100/10 - dangerously good, honestly could eat them all day. I tried the rice once too - super fluffy, soft, and hot. The menu's pretty easy to follow: you pick your seafood and your sauce. I always go with mussels and shrimp in the Whole Sha-Bang sauce, medium spice. I add potatoes, egg, sausage, and sometimes corn - it hits every time. One thing I've noticed though: the last few times I've gone, they've gotten a little skimpy on the sauce. They used to be really generous with it, and now they charge extra if you want more. I usually don't take pics here since the food's already messy as is, so the picture ends up looking the same. You just gotta get in it and enjoy the moment with this one! They do provide gloves, but I always end up just using my hands - part of the whole messy experience. Service is okay - no complaints here! Everyone's usually pretty quick and friendly once you're seated. Parking's easy too; there's a big lot, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a spot. Oh, and FYI - you can't bring any outside drinks in. I think that even includes water; they might hold your tumbler at the front. Just something to note before you go so you're not caught off guard.

The absolute best service I've had at a restaurant ! I joined the waitlist on the website which was helpful to view the queue and wait time. The staff made my experience absolutely amazing!! It was very very busy we had to wait about 25-35 minutes for the two of us (first date). And I fully recommend I admit the prices are a bit..expensive $45/lb for snow crab and $75/lb for king crab They were out of dungeness & blue crab as well as crawfish which was a bit disappointing but I really appreciate that the staff highlighted what Was available. From the servers to the host everyone was extremely attentive and helpful. Our server was Lau and she explained the menu with detail and patience. She even let us know when she was leaving for a little break and who we could speak to in the meantime. The team work was so beautiful staff that noticed me looking around asked if they could help with anything . When bringing out crab legs they explained exactly how much they weighted and what to expect. I was thoroughly surprised by the service especially because it was so busy. Everyone was professional and welcoming. The food was AMAZING perfectly seasoned with quick service (once seated) . I recommend for a date night or even family dinner if your pockets can handle it !

One of my favorite seafood boil restaurants! My usual order is Shrimps, mussels and sausages, mild. We always get the whole sha-bang with extra garlic! Unlike the other seafood boil restaurant I've went to, you have to order the corn and potatoes separately. My son loves the soft shell crabs! Sometimes we spoil ourselves with the king crab legs or Dungeness crabs but it's pricey! They are always busy but service is fast and the place is clean!

The food here is excellent and definitely worth a visit if you're looking for quality. That said, the service could use some improvement. Our server seemed like he didn't want to be there and wasn't very helpful. With a little more hospitality, this place would be top-tier."

    Finish product!

The crawfish took some work to eat ;however, the over all experience was awesome! I highly recommend if you are in the area this is the go to !

This is a review of the fry side of the menu. Our grandson enjoyed the gumbo with rice. We shared family style soft shelled crabs, scallops, calamari and fried oysters. Two of the dishes came with fries, both ordered Cajun. One not spicy one moderately spicy. The seasonings were perfect and the seafood was tender. Our grandson enjoyed the fries so much we ordered an extra one. The features IPA was perfect for a West Coast IPA Lover. The service was impeccable. We Waitlisted on Yelp and were seated immediately upon arrival. The servers worked together as a well oiled machine. The ambience was cosy with lots of graffiti everywhere. There was even a humorous sign about a $100 fine for writing on the walls. Will return with a larger group to try the boils.

We sat inside, though there is also a lovely patio outside with umbrellas. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. It was a bit noisy inside since there isn't much to absorb the sound, so you may need to speak a little louder during conversation. I did find the lunch menu to be expensive. We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday, and everyone seemed happy with their dishes: a shrimp po' boy sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and pasta with tomato cream sauce and shrimp. I ordered the chicken po' boy sandwich. The sandwiches were served with seasoned fries, but unfortunately the fries looked and tasted like they had been sitting for a a while--dry and not very fresh. My chicken po' boy was disappointing. The sandwich had tomatoes and some iceberg lettuce, but no sauce, which made it very plain. While the chicken itself was tender, it lacked flavor and the overall dish felt like it wasn't prepared with much care. For a $21.50 sandwich that was essentially a few pieces of chicken breast with tomatoes, lettuce, and old fries, it felt like an expensive mistake. Perhaps other dishes on the menu are excellent. However, having grown up with a father who was a top chef, I tend to notice when simple dishes--like sandwiches and fries--aren't executed well. These are usually some of the easiest things to get right, which made the experience even more disappointing for me.

The place itself is chilly, clean, and comfortable. I've been to many crab boil spots where it's humid and sticky, but this one was the complete opposite. Owner correct me if i got the days wrong. Between the four of us, we had beers, lobster tail, king crab, unlimited crab boil, and tip, and it was only around $300. That's very reasonable considering the quality. Definitely not cheap food, but high quality at a fair price. I'd definitely come back. As I was leaving, I noticed customers walking in with big smiles maybe the munchies ahem ahem, but I definitely ate a lot myself. Highly recommend everyone to try it out!!!

We did a total of two "full rounds" with the maximum amount of seafood that we could order in that round, along with the miscellaneous sides and add ons. The eggs and corn were delicious and helped retain that saucy flavor. I do not recommend the French fries, that did taste like freezer food and it did not hold a nice after taste. Surprisingly one of the tasty things was the fried shrimp! The parking is very limited so I can see this as a potential issue to many. The best seafood boil in all of San Diego in my opinion, and I've tried many places (yes, including…read moreCrab Hut). The main reasons why this is my top spot are: -Seafood Quality - the clams here are BIG and don't fall out of the shell, and the shrimp is always perfectly cooked and not mealy. The crab clusters are big and juicy as well. -Sauce - I always get the Torpedo Sauce (the house mix-of-all-of-them sauce) but instead of just tasting like garlic, lemon, old bay, "the sum is equal to more than the parts". In other words, the flavors meld together and are magical. I have heard some say that the sauce here leans sweet, and it definitely does have sugar, but I find it balanced. Also, it is mostly emulsified and does not have a thick layer of pure oil that runs off the seafood like some places' sauces. -Other Factors: they used to have a free fries deal for posting on social media (gone as of Feb '26 though), but they still have $1 oysters on some days, I like their fruit tea pitchers which are great for large parties, and they also give free Vietnamese chè for dessert! I rank this higher than Crab Hut because a) it's cheaper, Crab Hut is expensive even for seafood boil, and b) I prefer the sauce here. But Crab Hut is also S tier in San Diego so you can't go wrong with either.

The flavor overall was really good--the sauce had a nice depth and was well-seasoned. If you're…read moresomeone who enjoys spice, just note that the heat level wasn't very strong, even when ordering it spicy. That said, the shrimp and crawfish were unfortunately overcooked and came out pretty mushy, which took away from the experience. With seafood, texture really makes a difference, so that was a bit disappointing. There's definitely potential here because the flavor is solid, but hoping for better execution next time.

We came on a weeknight in January and easily found parking out front. The restaurant is more of a bungalow, and it's quiet and really pretty on the outside. There is a door on the left of the stairs that leads to a small, old timey dining room, and it's going to be weird...I'll warn you about that. When you open the door, it feels like you just walked in on someone's private dinner party. It's super quiet in there and it's just a bunch of tables. No host/hostess. You seat yourself if there's a table. A server comes in and out of the room to serve the tables. The Mac and cheese was meh, we ordered it for a toddler. The crawfish étouffée was so good, they did not skimp on crawfish. I like it a little spicier, but this was what I needed. I would definitely come back here! If it's a cold night, dress accordingly, this bungalow is not insulated and the server comes in and out, so it was freezing. Can't imagine the heat in summer, but the food is worth it.

We called ahead and made a reservation. It was a Friday afternoon. We showed up on time and were…read moreseated promptly. Had wine and beer, and also got a bread basket with (softened) butter. The picky eaters ordered Mac and cheese with andouille sausage and we got both sizes: petite and regular. You can tell it was made from scratch and it was very cheese and runny. We got the dark roux gumbo with shrimp, chicken and sausage. The flavor was on point; however I wish it was more of the holy trinity and that the sausage was cut in medallions vs pieces. Our waiter was so helpful and patient and since we paid in cash the 4% surcharge for credit cards wasn't charged. I recommend!

Juicy special sauce is TOOOO BOMBBBBBB. The flavor is top tier. Have not been to a seafood boil with this flavor and this consistency. Shrimp is also nice and crunchy and they also cut it in half to make it easy to peel. Parking easy. Friendly service. Music poppin & not too loud. Will come here again and tell more friends to eat here! Edit: if u like sausages, probs don't order that here, it's just sliced hot dogs. Probs only downfall. Seafood bomb tho Edit edit: Individual baggies IS TOP TIER!!!!! They even rebag for u if u don't finish.

Came here for the seafood boil and left mostly satisfied. Got the headless shrimp with the "Juicy"…read moreflavor -- a blend of all their seasonings -- and it was genuinely good, solid 8/10. The Cajun fries held their own too. Prices are fair, actually a bit cheaper than comparable spots in SD, and the space itself is large, clean, and nice inside. We were seated quickly with no wait. That said, a few things brought the experience down. The staffing was clearly not enough for the volume of guests -- as the night picked up, service noticeably slowed, and it felt like the waiters were stretched thin through no fault of their own. That's a management issue. The sausage portion options are oddly limited too -- only a half pound or full pound, nothing in between, which feels unnecessarily restrictive. Biggest miss: the calamari. One bite and I was done -- it had "frozen grocery store bag" written all over it. Skip it entirely. The garlic bread is in the same boat, obviously store-bought, though it's passable enough. Stick to the seafood boil, avoid the appetizers, and hope you visit on a well-staffed night.

The fried shrimp had great flavor and seasoning on the breading. I personally would've liked them fried just a little harder for a bit more crisp, but they were still very tasty and fresh. The mac & cheese was creamy, rich, and definitely one of the highlights of the plate. The red beans & rice had a good hearty flavor, though it was a little on the salty side for my taste. For dessert, I had the peach cobbler. The flavor was really good and comforting, but I would've liked a little more juice in it. It would also be great if they offered an option to heat the cobbler, which would take it to another level. Interior is cute , screams New Orleans. They had one person working counter she was busy in the phone trouble shooting some software so I just ordered on the tablet. Overall, generous portions and good Southern comfort food. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu.

Breading was lightly seasoned (would have liked a little more flavor) on the catfish and shrimp. The shrimp were super plump and sweet. Catfish was a bit funky but both were best with the hot sauce. Gumbo had good flavor and a dark roux, just too much salt and the chicken was a bit chewy. Nice pieces of okra and really good sausage. Will come back for a shrimp poboy.
