We went to King Crab for the seafood boil. I ordered a la carte: 1/2 lb head off shrimp, 1/2 lb crawfish, and a 1/2 lb of sausage. It comes with 2 potatoes and a 1/2 corn on the cob. I chose the juicy sauce at medium heat. My friend ordered the special B, which is a 1/2 lb each of shrimp, crab and crawfish with 2 potatoes and 1/2 corn on the cob. The service is great. They provide bibs and gloves which are absolutely necessary. It was a bit warm in the restaurant and I won't order the sausage again, it is not as fabulous as the shrimp, crawfish, crab and sides. The juicy sauce is sooo good. It has chunks of garlic in it. I love coating the food in the sauce for the incredible flavor. The bar has beer and wine. They provide a frosted glass and a lime with the modelo. This is a great restaurant. It feels like I went to the Bayou for a Cajun seafood boil. I will definitely be back.
Picked up a shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries to go because I had to have something from the South to celebrate Fat Tuesday. Service was very friendly and I appreciated they confirmed the right person was picking up the order. Restaurant wasn't too busy but then again it was almost 9 pm. Liked the casual vibe and saw lots of seating available for large groups. Sandwich was really good filled with an abundance of crispy shrimp, lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo. The bread was warm and toasty but not the French bread that I was used to when growing up on the MS Gulf Coast. Overall enjoyed the Sandwich and had to save half for the next day because the excellent fries filled me up. Generous serving of perfectly fried, not greasy sweet potatoes. I would definitely come back if in the Point Loma neighborhood to try some of their other menu items.
Went in for birthday dinner on a whim and we were happily surprised. Service was great and the food was superb! Started with oysters and bang bang shrimp.. oh the sauce on the shrimp!! Yummmm!! Ordered a modified boil that included king crab legs for an up charge. Well worth the extra cost! Might be the best crab the birthday boy has ever had. We got the mild boil and the most popular sauce because I am a whimp with spice. Delicious!! So glad we stopped in!! Coming from out of state, this was a happy surprise!
THE BEST. Y'all must come here! It is amazing and delicious! I do want to say the service is always outstanding and the food is so delicious! It's better priced than most restaurants doing crab boil and you do get a little more! Love coming here
The Setting: It's Friday night, and after some mild discussion, we decided to walk over to King Crab. We were seated immediately. No silverware, no problem.... Gloves and bibs on & the noshing commenced. Two large waters at the ready. Mini garbage can waiting for us to fill it with our discards. The Feast: Sausage & Snow Crab Legs - Juicy special Sauce - Medium Clams & Shrimp - juicy special Sauce - Medium We received two potatoes and two little pieces of (ears of) corn. (The potatoes & corn were delish!) The verdict: Everything was very good. The juicy special sauce is garlicky, oily, salty, and delicious. The service is attentive. The place is spacious & clean. It was messy eating, but it was kind of fun & very enjoyable. The menu features a number of seafood & land items you can order in your seafood boil, as well as fried items, appetizers, alcoholic & nonalcoholic (including Boba) drinks! There's plenty of parking in the ample lot. I recommend King Crab!
I came here last week with my family. We like coming here on special occasions because we love the service, quality of food and prices. This occasion was my dad's birthday, we were a party of 6 and this place is great since it's so spacious for bigger parties. For parties of 6 or more gratuity is included which is very normal and to be expected. I'm not sure if that's why our server decided to neglect us since her tip was already included, but we were disappointed in her. Food came out quick, food was great and flavorful, the cooks in the back did a great job. However our server, Maria, basically abandoned us once our food came out. Never checked on us, didn't fill out waters. We kept having to ask the other server for things, which they did tell her to check on us but, that shouldn't be their problem when we were her table. And probably her only table since it wasn't busy in there at all when we came. My husband and I used to be servers so we know how it is, and we would HAPPILY tip on top of gratuity if the service was amazing. She also never cleared our table or little trash cans when they got full. Not sure if she was distracted by the Mexico World Cup game, doesn't matter, we'll be sure to request a different server next time.
The service was ok. The atmosphere was very casual but the food was overpriced and underwhelming. There's not a whole lot to say other than I've been there once and that's enough as there are better places to spend your cash and calorie intake.
Decided to randomly stop by this spot and I am glad I did. It is a cute little place in a strip mall in Point Loma and conveniently located right off the I 8 exit. I ordered the King Crab Jumbo Combo for $130. It came with 1 lb snow crab legs, 1 lb crawfish, 2 lb shrimp (head off), 1 lb green mussels, 3 eggs, 6 corn, 6 potatoes, and half a pound of sausage. The menu says it feeds two to three people, but honestly it was more than enough for four to five. The portion was very generous. The flavoring was great. One thing to note though is that their "spicy" is more like a medium level spice. So even if you order spicy, expect something closer to mild to medium heat. Service was fine. Nothing spectacular but exactly what you would expect from a seafood boil place. You do most of the work cracking everything open while the staff keeps drinks and refills coming. Overall I would definitely come back if I am in the area again. I would also love to try their po boy next time.
King Crab Cajun Seafood downtown San Diego, CA Food: We ordered the lobster and shrimp boil which was really good... well delicious even! It was served hot and the seasoning was awesome. The Spicy Thai Wings were delicious, seasoned perfectly with the right amount of sauce. The Garlic bread was pretty good also, only wished it was grilled also. Service: Awesome service, friendly, and accommodating. The place was packed (mother's day) however service didn't suffer. This establishment ran like a well oiled machine! Ambiance: The restaurant was clean and well organized, I couldn't get enough of the shark on the wall... pretty cool.
Quite literally one of the worst crab boil AND service experience I've ever had. Sean, my server, made my dining experience twice as long as it needed to be. First, he comes over within a minute of me sitting down and I say I need a few minutes to decide which he responds by not coming back for 10+ minutes! Then he takes my order and I get my food but then I have to wait for him to bring the utensils?! Then, I get the utensils and I'm eating and I'm real realizing this food sucks!! There's no seasoning, it's literally just a bag of seafood and oil smh. I tried to get his attention so I can get some salt and pepper and it took him over 15 minutes to come over to me?!!!!!!!! Whole time I'm waiting this dude is cleaning dirty tables that are empty!!!!!!!! Mind you, after it took him super long to come back the second time, I asked for a new server and instead of obliging management said he was new and that I should just stop anyone that's walking by and ask for what I need and then proceeded to just sent me over a drink from the bar that I didn't order?? Like thank you but fulfilling my request would've been apology enough!! The icing on the cake was when I did stop someone to get my to go boxes and instead of getting it for me, she went and told him and he came back over and asked me if that's what she said?!! Like whatttt???????????? The overall incompetence was quite infuriating and I would 100% recommend Crab Hut on Convoy over them!! I'm so mad I just wanted to try somewhere new smh Yoooo go read their other bad reviews!! "Management" only responds to threaten and belittle the complainants like they've never heard the word accountability before?! Been here 2x and loved it both times. Service can sometimes be a little slow, but it's well worth it. I love the variety of sauces and the prices of the crab don't break the bank. Neither did the lobster tails. Looks like I have missed some photos that I forgot to upload. For sure will be back!
The restaurant is HUGE. There is so many tables inside and the parking outside is ample. I got the gumbo and it was so perfectly seasoned with a good amount of spice. My party also ordered the peach smoothie and the brown sugar milk tea and both were solid. The sesame balls were also soft and sweet/savory. For the seafood boil itself, we got 1/2 a pound of both black and green mussels. A pound of snow crab, 2lbs of shrimps, a pound of sausage, and we had some corn/potatoes. We had it mixed with the juicy medium spice sauce which wasn't too bad. I could have gone for the spicier option but the seasoning was good! The service was top tier though. The boss of the restaurant was very welcoming upon entering. And from there the server that took care of us was so attentive and funny! I believe his name was Johnathan. He was attentive bringing us lemons and plates without us needing to ask and he made sure we were having a good time and we had everything we needed during our meal.
Delicious seafood boil and great service! Our party of 4 went on Monday night and were seated right away. Tony, the owner, made us feel welcome immediately and we even chatted for a bit. All the staff were very friendly and also prompt when we needed anything. There are a lot of different selections on the menu, we ordered 2 specials and 1 dozen oysters. When I tell you the oysters were super fresh and big, you have to order them if you love oysters. The seafood was very fresh, the shrimp was nice and plump as well. We ordered the medium spice level but it was quite spicy! In addition to the seafood, we also tried the chicken wings - they were juicy and crispy. Definitely recommend. There's also a full bar at the front of the restaurant in case you're looking for some refreshments. They're very generous with the margarita! They also serve boba and tea if that's more up your alley, which is as tasty as a the ones you get at the boba shop. Overall, highly recommend King Crab if you're in the area for some fresh seafood!
Well, for me the service was great, but they also weren't busy at all. And also.....I forgot her name.....was it Emily? The girl handling the front of the house was great. As for the food, I had the B combo, which was the crab, shrimp, and crawfish with the juicy sauce on medium heat. I'll have to get it more spicy next time, but I can't really complain about anything. Good texture on the shrimp and crab. I found the umami of the crawfish to be a tad underwhelming, but for this value, you can't really do much better than this. I also like that they immediately gave me a cracker, scissors, a bib, gloves, extra napkins, and bucket for trash. It should be the bare minimum, but I've seen seafood boil places either forget to give these tools often or straight up not offer them until you ask for it. My second time at King Crab. Both times I got the 1/2 pound shrimp, 1/2 pound crawfish and 1/2 pound snow crab boil. Both times I followed my servers recommendation and went with the juicy flavoring. It's a combination of three of their popular sauces. Let me just tell you, when I'm eating the food. It's a 20 out of 10 stars situation. I'm literally licking up every little bit of that sauce. But then when I go home, my mouth starts to taste really salty and then horrible. Left me with the most disgusting breath and taste in my mouth that night and the next day. Tried it for the first time on a Tuesday night. It wasn't packed, which was nice and relaxing. We were greeted and sat down immediately by the friendly staff. The interior was pleasant and huge. Music played overhead but was turned down low enough to just give it a nice ambiance. We ordered the King Crab Jumbo Combo and we were surprised to have it served in a BIG party tray. There was no way 2 people could finish all the food so we had plenty of leftovers. Chose medium spice level and the Juicy Special seasoning. Taste-wise, it was very good but I would have to say I can name 2-3 other seafood boil places that were better tasting. But we still enjoyed it and would go back if we are back in the area. Portion-wise, it seemed to be much more than the other places though. Another plus is there are lots of parking spaces. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Service was slow. We sat at the bar. We thought to order a couple of appetizers then a tray of mussels, shrimp and crab..... however, the experience became interesting and interesting. We decided to not order more. They have good options available. Wide variety! However, the quality and product were underwhelming. We received gumbo in a deli cup. We were confused.... We decided not to order anything else. Very spacious establishment with lots of seating, even for large parties! The service was pretty good, with the waitstaff constantly checking and making sure we were doing okay. The food was good, but it could have used more flavoring. The Combo E along with the 1lb King Crab was a good portion for two of us! I tried the non-alcoholic piña colada, and I really wish I hadn't!! It was extremely and unevenly icy, with a very syrupy flavor. Not my top choice for seafood boil, but not a bad one either. read more

There was no misunderstanding, I was denied service. That's why a bill was brought to me first of all. Your business was prejudice and wanted to get paid first. All parties spoke perfectly clear English. You're more worried about seeing a credit card?! Really! Because when someone pays with Apple Pay, you then request them to pull out the credit card and show you proof that it's theirs? You're a liar. Who the hell pulls out their credit card after paying with Apple Pay. No one, it defeats the purpose of having Apple Pay! You should be more worried about passing the failed inspections of the Health Department than lying to me how your employees misunderstood. Retrain the male manager who made the call and tell him to stop being so ignorant. At same time, retrain yourself on customer service and how not to lie. I came to you with an issue and instead you claim to need to see the credit card for Apple Pay! , you're a joke. Your karma will come in due time. It was our last night in Diego I had taste for a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich and Cajun fries. I ordered one for $15, my wife ordered a Fried catfish basket with Cajun Fries for $15, my daughter got the kids 2pc Chicken Tender basket with Sweet Potato Fries for $8.50 and my mom got the Catfish Po-Boy Sandwich for $15. The facility much bigger than expected. My sandwich was pretty good, not a lot of shrimp, could use a bit of seasoning on the breading, but the sauce, bread, lettuce and tomato was great! My wife really wanted a catfish with shrimp basket but they don't offer it and we couldn't just add shrimp without buying a seperate basket. If management is reading this post, that's our only suggestion. read more

We got the jumbo tray that feeds 2-3 and it was definitely worth it especially for the price. Restaurant is super spacious and great for large party's as well. I'm giving 4 starts only because our server never checked on us after we got our food and my beverage was forgotten but other than that food was great! read more

Went here for the first time for lunch with my best friend. It was both of our first times and we chose to sit farther back in the restaurant for privacy purposes and for conversation. This place is very good for large groups I believe as they can sit parties of 10 or more. Off the bat I went to the bathroom and it was honestly not that clean. They had no toilet seat covers and there was feces in one of the stalls. I saw a worker come in and she glanced at it, washed her hands, and didn't even think to flush it. Maybe that's not her job, but they should still keep in cleanly. Bathrooms are very big for me because you can tell a lot about the establishment. Then we got our food and me and my friend got special B and C. I really like their juicy special mild. Their food was very flavorful, however they barely put any sauce/ marinade. Halfway done with my food, the bag had no more marinade and I dipped in my friends bag, which had little left as well. For what you pay, I feel like they should definitely add more sauce because my food was starting to dry out. In addition, our server was very kind, but she did not check on us once for how our food was or if we needed refills. If the restaurant was busy, we would completely understand, but there was only 6 ppl max in the restaurant when they can sit almost 60+ people. Not only that, but she gave us our check in the middle of our meal, without thinking if we wanted to order desserts. King Crab has won me over and has been added to my rotation of seafood boils to get my crab legs at! The restaurant is clean, has plenty of space and seating. I came in with a party of 8 and we decided to share the King Crab Extreme Combo which comes with : 1lb of green mussels, 1lb of clams, 2lbs snow crab legs, 2lbs head off shrimp, 2lbs crawfish, 8 corn, 8 potatoes, 5 eggs, and 1lb of sausages. This is meant to feed 4-5, people but we shared that combo along with some appetizers, and it was more than enough for all of us.
