Cajun wings
Eric W.

We ordered 3 pounds of shrimp and 1 pound of crawfish with Sha-Bang sauce. The sauce was still as delicious as always, flavorful, buttery, and spicy. Chicken wings were decent. Unfortunately, the seafood quality was disappointing this time. The shrimp did not taste fresh and some were mushy. We never had this issue before, but lately the quality seems to be going downhill. Many of the shrimp were also full of poop veins. I noticed the The Boiling Crab location on Main Street slices the top of the shrimp to clean them better, and the quality there has been much better. Another frustrating thing is their live crab and live crawfish are always sold out. It feels like they only stock very limited quantities. The wait time was also extremely long. Service was not very attentive either. We had to wave our hands multiple times just to get attention, and even then the server kept forgetting our requests. The Sha-Bang sauce is still the main reason we come back, but the seafood quality and service definitely need improvement.

Seafood Boil at Boiling Crab has become a household staple. Ordered the following: 1. 6 Piece Wings Cajun 2. 6 Piece Wings Lemon Pepper 3. 1 lb Shrimp 4. 1 lb Mussel 5. Three Corn 6. Sausage 7. Catfish Basket Love that the food comes hot and the spicy level was bringing the heat. I always ask for their BBQ sauce and it is so good :)

Long wait... just go to one of the surrounding stores and come back when the wait is done. I didn't see any additional sinks other than the ones in the bathroom. The food was good! Service was good. We got the house seasoning. They were out of blue crab and live crawfish. We ordered 3lbs of shrimp and crab legs. Cajun and sweet potato fries along with steam rice and margaritas. This was split among 5 women.

Whole Shabang shrimp and sausage. 5/5

Listen when it comes to Boiling Crab, I am loyal to only two locations: Rosemead and Alhambra. Tonight I brought my brother here for his very first seafood boil ever while he's visiting LA, and of course I had to introduce him to one of my ultimate favorites! And WOW -- tonight's food was extra better than usual. The flavors were so on point. My shrimp were all big and plump, perfectly cooked, and the corn (which has been hit-or-miss for me) was perfectly sweet and juicy. I put my brother onto my usual order: * Half lb shrimp + sausage, Whole Shabang mild. * Separate bag with corn & potatoes, Whole Shabang no spice. * And of course, some lemon pepper fries as an appetizer! My only complaint? The fries took 5ever and didn't arrive until after our bags hit the table -- not ideal when your hands are already covered in sauce. But honestly, our server's personality totally made up for it. She was super sweet, attentive, and had such a great attitude. Love when the service matches the vibes. Just a reminder for the uninitiated: this location gets PACKED. Like, "2+ hour waits while you question your life choices" packed. Make. A. Reservation. Your future self will thank you. Another fantastic experience and a perfect intro for my brother's first seafood boil. This will always be one of my go-to TBC spots!

Catfish

****BEWARE**** Cashier was very helpful in locating our to go order. But unfortunately the food texture and taste was very old. Crab tint was brown instead of light reddish. Shrimp very mushy. Then catfish was undercooked (image shown). Seasoning is not the original flavoring. Did not notice until I saw the reviews of customers getting really sick, undercooked or rancid foods.

Less then half fills juice very misleading not getting moneys worth.

Let me be very clear the only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because of our server Katie. She was genuinely kind, attentive, and did her job exceptionally well. Everything else specifically the management was unacceptable. I am a regular loyal customer, and this is the first time I've had an experience like this. I ordered extra juice and was given a cup that was less than half filled. I was told it was still the "correct" 8oz portion but if that's the case, why serve it in a cup that looks empty? I've been coming here regularly and my cup has always been filled up all the way so this explanation didn't make sense and felt misleading. What made it worse was how it was handled. The manager Steven showed a lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service. Instead of resolving the issue or even acknowledging the concern the response felt dismissive. At the end of the day, customers should feel heard and respected. The saying "the customer is always right" exists for a reason. it's about trust, service, and making things right when something doesn't feel right to the person paying. Steven definitely needs to be retrained. If the standard has changed, then be transparent use appropriately sized cups so customers aren't left feeling shorted. It's not just about the amount, it's about honesty and presentation. As someone with management experience, I know this is not how you handle loyal customers. Owners should be aware management like this directly impacts customer trust and retention. One poor leader can undo the hard work of an entire team, including great servers like Katie. I will return because of the service staff, but if this is how management continues to operate, it will drive regular customers away. This needs to be addressed.

Cajun shrimp with potato and corn.

Everything was perfect, food, service and ambiance, definitely recommend. One of my favourite spots ever.

Boiling Crab already has a great reputation in SoCal, and this location definitely lives up to it. The food is super consistent every time : flavorful, messy in the best way, and always satisfying. Service is quick and attentive, with staff always checking in even when it's busy. The place is also clean and well-kept, with none of that strong fishy smell you sometimes get at seafood spots.

I hadn't been to this location in over 10 years, so it was cool to see what's changed. First off, they no longer hand out bibs or gloves automatically, but they do have them--you just have to ask. Other than that, the place looks about the same as it did years ago. We joined the Yelp waitlist and walked around the plaza, ending up with about a 20-minute wait at 6:30 on a Wednesday. As for the food, I still see Boiling Crab as the standard for Cajun seafood. It's never the absolute best I've had, but it's consistently good. We each ordered a pound of shrimp with corn, potatoes, and a rice to share. I got mine with the Whole Shebang sauce at XXX spice (which, in my opinion, isn't all that spicy). The food was tasty overall, though a few shrimp were overcooked and turned a bit mushy. Still, I left satisfied. Service was fast and overall solid for Cajun food.

Stopped by on a Saturday evening and joined the Yelp waitlist at 6 PM and got seated around 8 PM. If you're coming during peak hours with a party of fewer than six, definitely join the waitlist 1-2 hours in advance. Parking was easy with their private lot. Service was attentive, and the overall vibe was super casual. This is your classic seafood boil spot. They provide bibs and disposable gloves at the start. They're known for their Cajun sauce, and I would say it lived up to the hype- probably my favorite of the sauces. I also appreciated being able to customize the spice level according to your taste. My favorite menu items from the meal were the raw oysters, shrimp, clams, and sausages. The oysters were very fresh, and the seafood was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Cajun sauce was bold, rich, and savory. Garlic butter was a bit heavy but worked well with the potatoes. The lemon pepper was a lighter, zesty contrast- perfect for switching things up. The snow crab legs and Dungeness crab were on the pricier end and not particularly standout, so I would probably pass on these the next time I go, but if you're feeling a splurge, I'd recommend going for the fresh Dungeness over the frozen option if it's available (it's commonly sold out). I would probably pass on the lobster roll as well (one of their newer menu items), as the portion was kind of small and lobster flavor was subtle.

These guys do great business and I remember when it was only the one location near Valley and Garfield... Good flavors, long wait (possibly) so be patient and use Yelp online wailist to help.

We were…read moreable to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. This is a great alternative to the popular Newport Seafood, so don't sleep on this place!

Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Price for everything (except the lobster) was pretty good. Food tasted amazing for the most part. Typical Chinese customer service. Pay at the front. Massively large portions. Solid authentic Chinese food.
