We visited Boiling Crab for the first time to celebrate my nephew's 10th birthday, and we had such a great experience! It was a little of a wait because we were such a large party but they made up for the wait by getting our drinks and food out quickly! We were a little disappointed when we found out they don't normally do birthday celebrations, especially since it was such a special birthday for him. But our waiter, Luke, completely turned that around. He gathered his coworkers, and they all came over to sing Happy Birthday to my nephew. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made his night! We were so thankful for Luke's outstanding service, kindness, and attention to detail throughout our visit. The food was great too, but the service is what really stood out and made our first experience memorable. Management should definitely consider making birthday celebrations part of the dining experience because those little moments mean so much to families celebrating special occasions. The restaurant was nice and spacious with ample room to wait for a table. I ordered to go and the food was ready in 15 min which I appreciate. The staff were nice and helpful and the food was great with the whole shabang. I got a lb of shrimp with sausages and cajun fries which scratched my seafood boil itch! One gripe I have with my dinner was with the cajun fries.. I found a piece of hair stuck to one of the fries (refer to pic below). On 9/19/2026. Paid at 9:00PM. Didn't get my food until 9:10PM I'm a regular customer at this restaurant, but I was very upset with my last takeout order. The order was already finished and sitting on the pickup rack the whole time. The female server who was supposed to hand it to me spent those 10 minutes chatting and laughing with about six male coworkers one after another. She walked from the register to the rack and then over to me while still talking with them. My friend and I were standing right there waiting and watching her, and she clearly knew we were waiting. If it had just been busy or a little slow, I would understand. She was not busy at all! This wasn't slowness! It was putting a conversation with different coworkers ahead of a customer who had already paid and whose food was already ready. Something that should have taken a couple of minutes took ten because she chose to socialize first. Poor service and even poorer awareness of the guest standing in front of her. Reply to the owner: So are you saying I was lying? I checked the time when I walked out, and it was 9:09. Did you investigate her, or did you just look at the POS time and decide my complaint was wrong? Did you check the whole camera recording rather than just comparing the POS time and the so-called handover time? If you checked the camera, did you see your server talked and laughed with 6 other severs one after another while just picking up our food which was already ready on the racks? Did you see she even still wanted to talk to one more coworker while walking back to us at the end? Was putting long time socialization before customers right to you? We ordered 3 pounds of shrimp and 1 pound of crawfish with Sha-Bang sauce. The sauce was still as delicious as always, flavorful, buttery, and spicy. Chicken wings were decent. Unfortunately, the seafood quality was disappointing this time. The shrimp did not taste fresh and some were mushy. We never had this issue before, but lately the quality seems to be going downhill. Many of the shrimp were also full of poop veins. I noticed the The Boiling Crab location on Main Street slices the top of the shrimp to clean them better, and the quality there has been much better. Another frustrating thing is their live crab and live crawfish are always sold out. It feels like they only stock very limited quantities. The wait time was also extremely long. Service was not very attentive either. We had to wave our hands multiple times just to get attention, and even then the server kept forgetting our requests. It's Memorial Day and the place is packed at 3:00 PM. The food is especially good at all the Boiling Crab locations, but this location feels right, and there is so much parking, compared to the other locations. In this particular case, I was taking out, as I bought some shrimp myself, and wanted to use the sauce to try out on some extra jumbo shrimp. Listen when it comes to Boiling Crab, I am loyal to only two locations: Rosemead and Alhambra. Tonight I brought my brother here for his very first seafood boil ever while he's visiting LA, and of course I had to introduce him to one of my ultimate favorites! And WOW -- tonight's food was extra better than usual. The flavors were so on point. My shrimp were all big and plump, perfectly cooked, and the corn (which has been hit-or-miss for me) was perfectly sweet and juicy. I put my brother onto my usual order: * Half lb shrimp + sausage, Whole Shabang mild. * Separate bag with corn & potatoes, Whole Shabang no spice. * And of course, some lemon pepper fries as an appetizer! My only complaint? The fries took 5ever and didn't arrive until after our bags hit the table -- not ideal when your hands are already covered in sauce. But honestly, our server's personality totally made up for it. She was super sweet, attentive, and had such a great attitude. Love when the service matches the vibes. I hadn't been to this location in over 10 years, so it was cool to see what's changed. First off, they no longer hand out bibs or gloves automatically, but they do have them--you just have to ask. Other than that, the place looks about the same as it did years ago. We joined the Yelp waitlist and walked around the plaza, ending up with about a 20-minute wait at 6:30 on a Wednesday. As for the food, I still see Boiling Crab as the standard for Cajun seafood. It's never the absolute best I've had, but it's consistently good. We each ordered a pound of shrimp with corn, potatoes, and a rice to share. I got mine with the Whole Shebang sauce at XXX spice (which, in my opinion, isn't all that spicy). The food was tasty overall, though a few shrimp were overcooked and turned a bit mushy. Still, I left satisfied. Service was fast and overall solid for Cajun food. read more

If you're coming during peak hours with a party of fewer than six, definitely join the waitlist 1-2 hours in advance. Parking was easy with their private lot. Service was attentive, and the overall vibe was super casual. This is your classic seafood boil spot. They provide bibs and disposable gloves at the start. They're known for their Cajun sauce, and I would say it lived up to the hype- probably my favorite of the sauces. I also appreciated being able to customize the spice level according to your taste. My favorite menu items from the meal were the raw oysters, shrimp, clams, and sausages. The oysters were very fresh, and the seafood was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Cajun sauce was bold, rich, and savory. Garlic butter was a bit heavy but worked well with the potatoes. The lemon pepper was a lighter, zesty contrast- perfect for switching things up. The snow crab legs and Dungeness crab were on the pricier end and not particularly standout, so I would probably pass on these the next time I go, but if you're feeling a splurge, I'd recommend going for the fresh Dungeness over the frozen option if it's available (it's commonly sold out). The wait was atrocious for sure but the food is worth the wait. It was a 3 hour wait for a party of 12, so you need to make sure someone in your party can come in and put their name on the waitlist. The Yelp waitlist tracker is really helpful, so you can gauge when to come back. The customer service was amazing and we were always getting checked if we needed more sauce or water refills. The food was delicious and very filling because of the potatoes and sausages. I really enjoyed the Cajun seasoning and the sauce that the shrimp was presented in. Unfortunately, several items were not available the day I went. I ordered a pound of mussels and a pound of snow crab. I asked for lemon pepper and non spicy but they came in separate bags. The snow crab bag came with better sauce. The server was confused and switched the mild and non spicy snow crab orders. Haven't been to boiling crab in so long but no disappointment! I was surprised at the shrimp, they felt small but I only got a 1/2 lb and feel like I still got a lot of shrimp even if they were small in size. I felt like there was so much food in my bag- I gave a lot to my boyfriend and I was still overly full. The food was tasty, sauce was good as always. I think I'll always be a fan of The Boiling Crab because truly nothing compares to their whole sha-bang seasoning/sauce! I swear I dream about it. I've been a long term customer of Boiling Crab for many years, and I really appreciate that this location exists! It is conveniently located off the 10 freeway and has plenty of parking because it is in the Target plaza. If you are planning on visiting, I would recommend Yelp waitlisting at least an hour or two prior to your planned visit as they have long wait times during the weekends. As for the food- I don't think you could go wrong with anything on their menu. On my most recent visit, I got a half a pound of shrimp (whole sha-bang and medium spice level) with a sausage link and corn. I split cajun fries and fried calamari with my friends, and I also got their lime margarita.
