As a distance runner, I sometimes get minor aches and pains. I stretch, foam roll, take some Aleve, and move on. While training for the Chicago Marathon this year, I was healthy and felt strong... until a mere 12 days before the race. I began to have aching and pain in my left groin area, and unfortunately, it spread all down my inner thigh, hamstring, quad, IT band, hip flexor, and lower back. Perfect. With less than a week to go before the race, I was panicking and extremely stressed and upset. BUT THEN I MET TRANETTE! Within the last 6 days before the marathon I had Tranette work on me twice! She was extremely flexible and open to helping me whenever I needed since my race day was so close. Even on days when we didn't have an appointment scheduled, Tranette would contact me to see how I was feeling and was constantly providing me with tips, stretches, and home remedies to do between sessions. During sessions, Tranette was professional, friendly, and boy does she know her stuff! I was worried that I was having too much work done on my injury so close to race day, but Tranette was aware of the situation and knew exactly what kind/amount of pressure to use. I did end up finishing the marathon, and although it hurt like hell (duh), it was a lot less painful because of the work Tranette did on me. I even ended up setting a new personal record by almost 33 minutes! I couldn't have pulled through at the end without all of Tranette's help. Post race, she has continued to offer assistance with my recovery, demonstrating her genuine care and concern for her clients. Who doesn't want a massage therapist like that? Bottom line: call Tranette-- you won't be disappointed! read more
