Wow. I have been to a number of massage therapists over the years. The only thing that makes me sad is that I found Brian after leaving a job where I had insurance that would have paid for massages. Now I have no insurance at all. I should have checked Yelp sooner. I first went to Brian after spending a week not being able to make a fist with my left hand. Having no insurance and not being able to do my job in such a state, I did the logical thing. I googled my health problem. I have had various RMI problems with my hands and wrists over the years, ( thank you ( GiantCoffeeCorporation!! ) and figured it was more of the same kinds of stuff but worse. One of the things I found talked about massage, and yoga and all of that good stuff. Being someone who does believe all of that can help, I thought, "Hmm. Massage. That probably WOULD help a lot." When I saw Brian's Yelp reviews and his location, about 1 block from me, I decided to try him. Wow. He found a knot in my shoulder. When he worked on said knot, I could feel the release in my hand. I've been working with Brian for about 6 months now and I'm becoming a bigger fan with each visit. As a hair stylist I spend about 10 hours a day on my feet. On my first visit he accurately pinpointed some of the common issues in my industry; something I was definitely impressed with. Since then, we've gotten much more customized to what my specific issues are without having to rehash an in-depth consult on each visit. On a service level, I really appreciate Brian's professionalism and attention to detail with a laid back demeanor. He's all about welness, posture, and stress relief, and he has a comforting presence about him. If I could afford it, I would come see him every day. Brian is a miracle worker. I have been to different MT's in the past and he by far is the best. His knowledge and complete understanding of the muscular and skeletal system provides him with the tools to individualize your problem and target the area that most needs work. I set an appointment with this guy on Saturday I informed him that Sunday is cool to move my massage to. So on Sunday I missed my appointment and before I could say hey I will pay for my time even though I missed my appointment. I first went to Brian on the recommendation of a musician friend of mine who also suffers from severe tension. As a performer myself, I carry a lot of tension throughout the whole of my body. Brian is wonderful, a real professional with a gift for intoning healing calm and relaxation in his clients, a thing of which I am in great need. One of the things that struck me immediately is how quickly he can pinpoint exact places in need of release, also his attention to detail not only of what the body needs but the levels of pressure that the person can take. Brain is fluent in various techniques (including reflexology) and uses them throughout the sessions. He's also adamant about a "no-after-pain" massage, he wants to know immediately if something is not feeling good, during and post massage. Seriously, just the nicest guy too! Brain's good. He's really good. Never rushed, he spends plenty of time on a great massage but also on two-way communication. He tries to get at the root of problems and gives advice beyond the massage session. And he's just a really nice person. By the way, he uses real music. I only saw Brian for 6 months and I had to take a break. I regret that. Brian Chambers is kind and non judgemental. That's important to me because I don't need anyone making me feel weird about my posture and my body. He approached things realisticially and gently and was transparent with me about what I needed to do outside of the body work and what he was going to be working on. He's great. As for the massage...wow! I've had massages where people do give the options of gentle and deep massages and I can never feel the difference. With Brian, the difference is there.
