Plus, her clinic is as relaxing as a spa: I feel soothed the minute I step inside! Upon separate occasions, Lisa greatly helped me recover quickly from two knee replacement surgeries as well as a hip fracture from a serious fall. Furthermore, her cutting-edge, e-stem acupuncture has been immensely healing, much more effective than dry needling. In fact, my physiotherapist told me I healed very quickly and he always found his clients who use acupuncture heal more quickly. In addition, Lisa provides other organic supplements, holistic therapies as well as topical pain relievers. These have been key for not only for my illness / injury recoveries they have helped me remain healthy as well as feel and look youthful. When Lisa opened Healing Foundations, I had been seeing another acupuncturist for over ten years. After seeing her, Lisa soon became the acupuncturist my I recommend to all my friends. I truly can't say enough about Lisa, she is a gifted acupuncturist!

Normally I expect to receive the full amount of massage time I paid for, aside from a few minutes to undress and dress. But unfortunately, at every visit here, I've lost at least 10 minutes of time due to delays from the therapists and excessive time for getting situated. Therapists were either late coming from breaks, had gone overtime with a prior client, or didn't seem to care about being on time.

Started the New Year off on the right foot (:D) with a visit to Sunshine Foot Spa. I had never…read morebeen before, but my sister had, and she suggested we both go for the 60-minute Combo treatment, which includes foot, scalp, and body massage. There are a handful of massage tables all in a row in a cozy, dim, communal room. You keep your clothes on, other than your shoes/socks, throughout the treatment. It might also be a good idea to wear looser clothing and pants that easily roll up past the knee. My sister said they used to have you relocate to one of the private massage rooms for the body massage, but it seems they changed the model and you just do the whole service clothed in the communal room - at least, this was the case for the 60-minute Combo treatment. Or maybe it was just done this way because we were the only clients in the whole spa at the time. My massage was pretty much as relaxing as any I've had in the area, and with all of our health insurance co-pays going up this year, it's probably a better self-care proposition than a session of therapy. ;) The cost was $50 for the 60-minute Combo treatment, plus $2 card processing fee and tip. Do note there may be a language barrier, in case that is a concern of yours. I didn't find this to be a problem.

I have been going to various chiropractors for the last 15 years, and I can say that Dr. Thill not…read moreonly takes the most time with each visit (up to four times longer than my adjustments with other chiros), but is also the gentlest of all of them, the most personal of all of them, and the most interested in teaching me stretches and exercises to use at home. While his visits are a lifesaver when I'm in pain, his focus is on pain and injury prevention, any many of the techniques and stretches he's taught me over time have helped me to treat myself at home between visits. His advice even extends to nutritional supplements and topical pain treatments. Many chiros will snap, crack, and pop you until you look like the textbook skeleton they have in mind, but Dr. Thill doesn't push, strain, or force my body past the place it can go. I appreciate this, especially as my experiences with the medical community have not always left me feeling listened to or cared for. I'm happy to have found a chiropractor whose approach is modern and integrative, but also flexible, both in the billing accommodations he makes and his willingness to schedule evening appointments, send text message reminders, and fit me in at a moment's notice. I'm happy and have no plans to switch from my "headache/backache/hula-hoop-injury-ache guy of choice!
