I love the feel of the place, largely because I love the vibe of an ice cream parlor. This one has an old time feel to it as well with an antique soda fountain and a Wurlitzer jukebox. The service is and always has been good here. They draw a crowd here but manage it well. The ice cream ranges average to really good depending on the flavors you select, and is a bit on the pricey side. At .90 an ounce, you can see where a cone will typically run you $7-$10. For me, their Butter Brickle is worth it, but on this past visit my Cookies & Cream was not.

We had gone to the location on University but when we caught them trying to stay closed and dodging customers, we decided they didn't need our business. Everything was spotless, except for the stained ceiling tiles and the ice cream freezer, which had an old rundown appearance. I was kind of bummed this location didn't offer the $5 lunch deals or the $6 lunch deals, that made for an $18+ lunch. They did have the blizzard of the month, and THAT'S what mattered! My husband went with a Hunger Buster and fries, his hunger was indeed busted and he enjoyed his meal. My chicken strip basket did not come in a basket, but in a Styrofoam container... womp, womp! When I pointed out their behavior at the window, she started yelling at me, prompting me to raise my voice in response. Another employee, an African American male, intervened, but the situation escalated as the rude staff member continued to shout over him. I expressed my disbelief at how unprofessional everyone was, but instead of resolving the issue, the male employee yelled at me to leave, cursing as he did so. I made it clear that I would be reporting their behavior, but they continued to be aggressive and disrespectful. Something needs to be done about this!!!
