Have been for a meal before in the past about two years ago, remembering it to have been quite a good place to eat. This time though it seemed to have lost some of its sparkle. It was a Tuesday night, so it was not overly busy, which was however to our liking. All though the staff were pleasant enough, and the courses arrived on time, the place comes over as a little sterile, lacking in character. My wife likened it to being like, having a meal in a friends freshly painted dining room. When you first arrive, the menu is written on a large chalk board from which you choose your courses, then after ordering you are taken to your table. This is slightly odd as there are two dining areas that are split from one another. I remember that the last time we ate there, we were seated on the left side of the reception area as opposed to the right side this time. I remember the other side being more cosy and welcoming. The food was nice, but the menu had not changed much from two years ago as I suddenly realised I had ordered the same main course that I had on my last visit. It is hard to sum it up really, but just to say that I have given it three stars, which is A-OK. Thats the point really, its just OK, but not that special place I was hoping for a wedding anniversary meal. Prices were good, but I would have paid more for that extra quality, instead it was good " Pub Grub", at a fair price. But I was looking for something better. read more
