I was stoked, the store was packed with people because of the crawl, but the store was so welcoming had a good assortment of book genres. I ended up picking up A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab. It was really hard to choose which book to pick up and my best friend picked up a magazine and a book to meet the Crawl criteria. Definitely going to be coming back!

Fortunately, they had a mermaid one and it was very large and exactly what I was looking for. They have so many cute toys here... It's really a kids Wonderland. But don't judge me, I went looking for a kite for myself. The prices are decent considering that it's in a very popular spot, and it really just depends on the items that you're getting. I called in advance to see if they had any kites because another store recommended them, and they were extremely helpful. I'll definitely be back..

Date of visit: July 24, 2024…read more As part of Comic-Con 2024, Now Or Never Comics was participating in the festivities in two ways - by having a raffle for three CGC-rated books with purchase of the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book... and a free pizza party. AUTOMATIC FIVE-STAR RATING! Okay, besides that, Now or Never is one of the few (if not only) comic book stores in Downtown San Diego. It's actually cleaner and more organized than the ones I frequent, but the relatively small size of the building means they don't have as much in stock as I'd like. Case in point, I wanted to show my appreciation for supporting SDCC by getting a couple of graphic novels of Trese and Usagi Yojimbo, but the ones I wanted weren't in stock. But, given how I was surprised to see a comic book store a few blocks away from the Convention Center, I can see myself probably checking it out again whenever I'm in the area.

There was only 3 people in there with me. Cashier mostly stayed at the desk and do paperwork. And only gave us a quick hi and bye. I stopped in when they did a drink pop-up for Comic Con and Tokidoki's 20th anniversary. They had the table at the front with the drink vendor and it was quiet with no line. The shop had exclusive items for Tokidoki's 20th so I bought a tee from them as well. Regarding parking, usually you can rely on street parking or might be able to find a lot where you pay to park.

It's neat that they have fair trade items. The two women employees that were there were super friendly and fun to talk with. They knew a lot about what they were selling, which is always nice.
