Egg cheese bagel (top) and salt n peppa jelly bagel (bottom)
    Elizabeth S.

The line was out the door on a Saturday morning - the breakfast sandwiches were tasty, but I don't know if I'd wait an hour in line for it. The salt n peppa jelly bagel seems to be what's unique at this spot. It was delicious and sweet. I enjoyed the pepper house-made jelly but with the mix of everything in the bagel, I couldn't tell it was different from regular jellies. The egg bagel with sriracha aioli was actually my preferred - it's simple and classic, but the eggs are so soft with a tangy sauce. They also don't skimp on the eggs here. Apparently they change their menu out, so this month was bagels sourced from another shop in UES. Service was nice and the workers here were very friendly. There are indoor tables and outdoor, so you can snag a seat if it's not too packed.

Trust me that I say this place offers the best breakfast sandwiches in all of NYC. I've tried almost every one & my favorite has got to be the Fling + impossible sausage. The homemade poppy bun is deliciously buttery & just super well made with all the ingredients. Amazing coffee as well. Workers there are super friendly & food comes out fast!

Each time I come back here I like it more. I looove their specialty coffees. I will go out of my way to try them. This time around I got the maple and palo santo latte and it was perfect. I've previously had some latte with orange shavings which I thought was initially an odd combination but it was so delicious. I also had the pleasure of trying their bagel sandwiches - and tbh I wasn't expecting much since I've had so many bagels but I really enjoyed these ones. The bagels were perfectly warm and salty, and the fillings worked perfectly (also great for a hangover). I got the egg and cheese with impossible sausage and the no-cha. This spot is now one of my go tos when I'm in the area.

The Blue Light Speak Cheesy is the spot to go if you're craving a solid breakfast sandwich. Admittedly, the Salt n Peppa bagel is the only sandwich I've tried, because I liked it so much the first time that I got it again on my second visit. It's the perfect combo of egg, cheese, a little bit of greens (arugula) to feel slightly healthy, and some oomph from the pepper jelly. Maybe someday I will try one of their other menu items, since the menu does change by the day, but for now I'm perfectly happy eating the Salt n Peppa every chance I get. The space is pretty cozy, best suited for small groups, and it gets busy on weekend mornings. In the summer they have additional seating outside.

Went on a saturday and got the bagel sandwiches. We split two sandwiches, and I loved how unique the combinations of toppings were. The bagel itself wasn't too special other than the fact that it's on the thinner side, but honestly, I liked that because I could really taste the toppings. Their coffee was pretty decent too. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings

Cheerful breakfast option in Greenpoint that has indefinitely taken over the former zero-proof Getaway bar's space. They have a rotating menu of options, with tacos available on Wednesdays and bagel sandwiches on Saturday. I had the "Salt n' Pepa" sandwich with scrambled egg, crispy onions, and a very sweet chili jelly which reminded me of a certain infamous fried rice cooking video. The crispy onions were a nice touch, although next time I'd probably opt for a more savory option without the jam.

Rushed here on a thursday morning to try their infamous breakfast burritos and they did not disappoint! The ingredients are so fresh, service is fast, and everything was so filling as well. Here's a rating of everything we got: -breakfast burrito (4/5): really really solid breakfast burrito that tasted really clean. The tortilla was really high quality, eggs were soft, and potatoes were crispy. If I were to be a little bit critical, I wish the exterior was a bit more crispy and there was a bit more of a crunch factor in the burrito, like hash browns, to make the ingredients blend together better. Overall though, the burrito was top tier. -biscoff latte (5/5): phenomenal latte, not too sweet at all because no added sugar, and so refreshing. I was surprised how much this latte blew me away -maple lavender latte (4/5): also good with orange zest... slightly sweeter, but comforting if you get it hot. Has a zesty more citrusy flavor if you are into that. So happy I tried this place. Would definitely come back!

So much to love. Green eggs and jam - pesto, goat cheese, and blackberry on an onion poppyseed bun. Delish coffee and good music taboot. A fabulous way to start the day.

RATING: 8.5/10 Reallly solid breakfast option. Heard about this place for a while and finally got to come here, and while I was hoping to catch them on a breakfast burrito day, I had the pleasure of trying their breakfast tacos instead BREAKFAST TACOS Really really good texture with two types of tortilla so you get a bit of softness and a bitch of crunch like a better gordita crunch (I hate to compare to taco bell). really well decorated, full tacos with soyrizo which I was skeptical of but it did have a good flavor and i wasn't upset at all that it was vegetarian. Good texture-wise. Would def have again. Quality is noticeable here! TANGERINE JUICE Tastes fresh, and really concentrated in flavor. How you would like juice to be, and on the sweeter side. This place is one of the spots in greenpoint that keeps me coming back! CATEGORY : EXCELLENT (terrible , bad, ok, good, great, EXCELLENT)

    Breakfast Burrito (Add Avocado)
    Evan N.

Made an effort to come here on a Thursday morning before work to get a breakfast burrito and wow was it worth it! It was expensive because after adding avocado for an additional charge it was $15.50 but damn was it worth it. I legit will think about it. The honey pistachio latte was made with pistachio milk and didn't disappoint! The place is a cute vibey place with everyone in the staff being so kind and warm and playing exceptional throwback music! Tons of seating outside! I loved it here! It made me happy!

I stopped by Blue Light Speak Cheesy on a Saturday to try some of their bagel sandwiches and they truly did not disappoint! My wife and I tried the Bagel w/ egg & cheese ($9.50), the Marisa explains it all ($12), as well as the Honey pistachio latte ($6.50). Everything was delicious and the latte was one of the best I've had. I can't wait to come back to try their tacos and breakfast burritos. I hope this pop-up stays up for a lot longer. Also, the service is so friendly and accommodating. They also have a self-service water station and restroom.

BEASTED! Such a perfect spot! Everything about this experience today was perfect! We lucked out on finding parking, beating the rush AND scoring a table. We got their sandwich's which were flavor packed and two coffees that were beautifully garnished. This small little joint was packed and busy but the staff still found time to check on us and explain the menu. Loved the big open windows and would highly recommend to anyone in Greenpointe!

    Burrito Bun Breakfast Sandwich (~$14)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Burrito Bun Breakfast Sandwich (~$14): pasture raised scrambled eggs, organic spinach, avocado, Cabot pepper jack, chipotle aioli & crunchy lime red cabbage on an onion poppy bun Aya's take: What a killer of a breakfast sandwich! I was in the area and this was the 3rd place I came to; the others were closed (it's a holiday weekend so I understand). The Blue Light Speak Cheesy has a few tables and almost all of them were full. We were able to snag the last available table while I ordered at the counter. I realize they serve different sandwiches on different days of the week (I went on a Sunday) which could motivate people to come back on other days. On the other hand, it could be disappointing if they're not serving what you want on that particular day. Anyway, onto the sandwich! The Burrito Bun Breakfast Sandwich was so well-balanced. From the soft scrambled eggs to the tangy and vibrant red cabbage to the flavor of the pepper jack to the freshness of the spinach and avocado, it was everything you could want in a breakfast sandwich. I think the only thing that would make it better is if it had a layer of crunch (like a hash brown). Nonetheless, it was so filling and hit the spot. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and I can't wait to come back.

Aside from beer, is there wine served? Thank you

Hi Alex! Since we are a pop up we have multiple locations but this one in Fullerton is open on the first Friday of the month from 6-11pm. Our next one is June 7th. Hope to see you there!

What is gluten free there to eat ? What are my options?

Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
