The food is pulled from the Distillery menu so it's great bar food. The atmosphere is a nerd basement with at least 10 pinball machines, board games and active puzzles. Christmas ale and "French toast ale?" You're still good. IPAs, yeah sure of course. At any given time, it seems like GBSB will have between 20 and 25 beers on tap. Is the brewmaster stretching himself a little too thin?? Maybe. I wonder what would happen if they decreased the number of beers brewed at any given time and focused maybe JUST A LITTLE BIT more on quality. Regarding EtOH, they have more than just beer, but every time I've been here, I've only seen people drinking the fermentation of malted barley (and a little wheat). And for good reason...the beer is good! There's no food to speak of, but like most microbreweries around here, you can frequently find a food truck parked outside. The location (on Tedrow in South Toledo) is great. Inside, GBSB is clean and very comfortable. I'd say the taproom could be considered to be a little towards the "sports bar" side of the scale, but still, the TVs are not overly intrusive. Free popcorn. The service has always been great...fast and friendly. The prices? It's craft beer. Regarding the atmosphere again. Great Black Swamp Brewing is dog friendly. You can bring your dog(s) inside.
