Waitress not bad. Wish she would have told us what they were out of when we sat down instead of when we were ready to order. Food was good and very large portions, however a little pricy. Weird so I asked for the bun since I asked for the sandwich and I was charged $1.50. Then we got two sides and I asked for a baked potato... they don't service baked potatoes until 5pm. Decided to try this place out since it was right next to where we were staying. It looked promising, reviews were good so we thought we were in for some good BBQ. For the prices we saw on the menu we were expecting Goodwood BBQ quality or Bam Bams. But what we got was overpriced food for not so great quality. ($13 mozzarella sticks seems a bit overkill). All my meats were dry, as well as cold and our sauces were given on the side. I ate both my sides which were better, gumbo and cheesy potatoes. I did have to ask to get the meats taken off my bill though because I could not enjoy any of them and did not feel right paying $25+ for something I really did not enjoy. read more

Alek (I believe that was our server) was very professional while she took our order, and the wait was exactly as what was mentioned despite the how busy they were. The food was delicious: we ordered the 2 meat combo (tri-tip, brisket), baby back ribs, and philly sandwich. It was filling and made well, and the sides of fried okra, slaw, gumbo were great! One word to describe this BBQ - incredible! Boyfriend and I have been on the road for 7 days, roadtrip from PA, eating out twice a day. This has been the first place that has blew our socks and hats totally off!! We tried the ribs, pulled pork, turkey, and brisket - all were great. Not the bean eating type but wow their beans are made with a little bit of heaven! 5 stars review really comes down to the service of Joanna!! She was on top of making sure our food was great and drinks were always full. And she enjoyed her job which made our experience so wonderful! Seems like a tourist trap. We were starving after driving all day and this was the first BBQ place we saw. We were hoping for authentic BBQ but seems more like a trap for families or tourists. The food was meh and the prices were Ridiculous. After seeing the menu I wish we could have just walked out. I got a burnt ends sandwich with a 'side' of Mac and cheese. The bottom of the bun was so greasy that I just ate the meat (maybe 1/2 cup of tough burnt ends.) And the side was really about a 1/4 cup of Mac and cheese, seemed more like a sample to me?... my meal was $18 before tax or tip. And my husband got the brisket sandwich with fries which was also $18, but then added A DOLLAR to add a slice of yellow American cheese.. all in all the prices are crazy when you compare them to other local BBQ joints. Just don't fall for it, keep driving. Also the bathrooms were gross, dark, and blasting blues music?... I honestly saw nicer bathrooms in some of the truck stops during our drive. read more

I traveled from California to Utah and visited one of the top rated bar and restaurants in the area. I expected decent BBQ because that's what they offered (blupig) and I also expected good *brews Nd drinks. We ordered very basic wings and pulled pork tacos with shots of whiskey. The wings tasted like dog feet, and the tacos tasted like horse-head. Although the dipping sauce was good, our shots were nothing but capfulls of stale liquor. Two smart things were done with the pulled pork. First, the smoky meat had sweetness - probably from a fruitwood. Second, the simple presentation kept the meat pure by not soaking it in sauce or chopping it to death. On the downside, the lack of pork fat reduced moistness. The properly fatty burnt ends didn't have the same appropriate level of smoke as the pork. Lacking enough bark or char, they were like eating deep-fried cubes of fatty brisket. Of the four sides we tried, the best was the fried okra with an even fry coating and no sliminess. Lacking a southern casserole feel, the hash brown casserole was like under seasoned mashed potatoes with bits of corn and onion. The smoked gumbo was clunky with a mishmash of ingredients. The house salad annoyingly needed to be eaten with a knife. Please cut the ingredients because I'm not your prep cook. Live music starts at 7P, but is only heard in the separate bar area. The hostess stand missed the time estimates to be seated for both us and other diners - extra bad considering that people put their names on the waiting list and then bailed without letting the hostess know. Empty tables took 5 to 10 minutes to seat which is either an issue with the hostess or intentionally slowing the tempo due to not enough servers (the kitchen seemed to have kept pace). Drinks arrived mid-meal. Entrees tasted like they'd been sitting in the pass under the heat lamps for a while (a probable cause for the dried edges on the meat). We came during a slow period for Arches National Park on a weekday after Easter. During the busy season, I'd image this Moab restaurant must be like ground zero of a MOAB (Mother of All Bombs or Massive Ordnance Air Blast). PS-Moab's busiest month for tourism is probably not May as the owner commented and definitely not April when I was there. Although there are other attractions in the area, the majority of Moab tourists go to Arches. Using data from the Arches website (see https://irma.nps.gov/Stats/SSRSReports/Park%20Specific%20Reports/Visitation%20by%20Month), the busiest months for the last eight years are June, July, or August. read more

Mixed review. Of the bat, I will say the Staff was super friendly all the way around! We drove to town for an event, and caught the kitchen just before closing, and although they were out of most of what we wanted, we ordered tri-tip sandwiches & a desert for take out. The wait wasn't too bad, about 15 min. After leaving I noticed the bag didn't have ketchup and napkins as I asked, so I quickly walked back and got those. Then I get to the hotel room, which was in same parking lot, and notice they completely forgot the bbq sauce for the sandwich that I even asked for extra of, and my desert wasn't in the bag and the little souvenir shot glass I bought was cracked. Sooooo down again I go, this after a 17 hour drive here, & very hungry! The manager came right out and apologized and she could not have been over about it. They quickly got the sauce and desert and replaced glass and even threw in a large pint glass too. The food: by now the fries were just cold and soggy so I can't tell you if they're good or now, but the tri-tip meat was cooked well and we heated it up off the in in our microwave and tried both sauces they offered which were, spicy and sweet and black pepper spicy. Both delicious and I believe I was told .. made in house. The bartender was super friendly and while I waited and had a beer, he took the time to converse with me over the beers that are local to the area and state for them and also explained the difference of buying in liquor stores, VS convenience stores, which there's a difference . Went in around 3 on a Monday. Was promptly seated, received my drink quickly, and had two questions answered right off the bat. The server even let me sample the coleslaw (tasty, although not creamy; I was pleased). The restaurant was not busy, but even so, my food came out SUPER fast. Like, within five minutes, long enough to fry the okra. I ordered the 12oz pulled pork with coleslaw and okra, intending to take half of it with me for road food. I think I may have more than half of my meat left. I did splurge and get the smoked pecan pie for dessert. The smokey flavor is super subtle, and the pie was not too sweet. The crust rim was slightly overdone; the server told me that isn't normal.
