Quaint, nestled in the middle of a neighborhood, it seems like this is the place that locals go. The service was friendly, accurate, and fast. The coffee was phenomenal. The food was delicious. Lowbar is exactly this kind of place. Because of its austere yellow exterior ... it reminded me of East Berlin right after the Wall came down. That electric, scrappy energy of a place becoming something before anyone's decided what that something is. The edgy side of town. The happening side. I ordered the Earl Grey Matcha Capp. For some reason I thought it would come with a cream top, but it was still really good while on the smaller side. The matcha had a nice bright color and tasted super creamy and smooth with the oat milk. The Earl Grey flavor was very subtle, but worked well with the drink. Cute little spot and I'd come back to try more of their menu.

While waiting I got a chance to look around the shop and they some cute swag and gift boxes for your tea or coffee lover friends or self. The first sip of the Honey Badger - I was in heaven, wow. This iced coffee had the perfect amount of sweetness from the vanilla and honey, with a kiss of cinnamon. I can see why this a favorite. The traditional meat pie was really good and not heavy. The only thing I didn't like is the crust was very salty. Thankfully, the hot sauce which was a sweet spice completely the tomato based flavors of the meat pie. But my biggest issue was the fact that the dough in the center was very much raw. It was not cooked/baked through at all. Disappointing to say the least. I would not return for a pastry or baked good, as I believe you can find better ones around the area for a better price. But I would return to try the coffee.
