She transformed my curiosity for sewing into a full blown hobby and skill. She not only can teach you everything you need to know to get started making your own wardrobe, but the amount of tricks and tips she can share to make sewing easier or overcome obstacles is priceless! You're not going to get that kind of teaching from a book or a 1 day Joanne Fabrics sewing class. It also helps she is hilarious and we often laugh as we sew. If you really want to learn and grow your skills I highly recommend sassy sewer classes with Blondell!

Everyone I've met there is exceedingly friendly and professional. I had tons of alterations and repairs done there by BJ and I'm so tickled. I picked everything up yesterday-- my pants were hemmed perfectly, and she repaired a family heirloom vintage dress for me in a manner that you couldn't even tell it had been redone. This dress was hard for me to hand off to a stranger because it means a lot to me and she did such a wonderful job. I'm even having her use an old pair of favorite pants to make a pattern to make a couple new pairs. I was shocked how inexpensive it was! If you have sewing needs, this is the place to be.

I explained my level of care, to which she reprimanded "I TELL EVERYONE NOT TO USE THE SWIMSUIT SPINNER." I replied that she had not, in fact, informed me. She then pointed to care instructions taped on the counter which I read carefully and pointed out that they mentioned nothing about the spinner at all - good or bad. She said my only recourse was to call the manufacturer myself. She provided the number and I called from in store. The TYR rep asked me the store name, and when I said Cy's she stated "they are a great customer, why aren't they helping you with this?" I repeated that I didn't understand why myself, but that was the situation. I was then told I needed to provide photos and proof of purchase. When I asked the owner to provide proof of purchase (we easily located my purchase in the system and it was less than 1 year old) she told me she didn't know how to do it. She printed a blurry screenshot and told me that was the best she could do. I then looked at the system and found the place to reprint a receipt. TYR was great - they reviewed the photos, immediately determined it was a defect, and sent me a replacement at no charge. I chose Cy's specifically because it was locally owned and (I thought) stood behind their product. I will never shop there again nor recommend it to a friend. This probably does not matter to them as, in the repeated words of the owner "we outfit dozens of swim teams," but the absence of customer service afforded to me as a customer with a defective item as well as the punitive exclamations were appalling and inexcusable.

It's really a shame that some of the bigger swim teams don't go out of their way to support small local family owned business like this.

I stumbled into Melba's on a Friday evening around 6:30 PM, not long after they had opened. The…read moremusic wasn't even playing yet when I walked in, but the place already felt welcoming. I sat at the bar and quickly realized it was cash only, so I stepped upfront to use the ATM. The fee was $3, so I definitely recommend bringing cash ahead of time. I ordered an $8 drink, which was strong and very much needed--and shoutout to my bartender Tiffany, because she definitely took care of me. That drink was good, okay? After the first one, the drinks kept flowing, and the night really picked up. For food, I had the lemon pepper wings with fries and ranch. Even though I was already a little tipsy by that point, the wings were really good--flavorful, perfectly cooked, and hit the spot. And somehow, I even ended up with free food, which made the night even better. Just to be clear for anyone planning to come: they charge at the door after 8 PM daily, so make sure you have cash if you're arriving after that time. They also have happy hour, though I can't remember the exact hours--it may be 5-7 or 6-7--but they offer $2 off drinks, which explains the $8 price during happy hour. Also, while the bar is cash only, the food is separate and you can pay for food with a card. As the night went on, the music was on point--a great mix of old school and new school--and the vibes were just right. I made my way to the back where the dance floor is and fully immersed myself in the club/lounge atmosphere. I came around 6:30 and stayed until about 12:30, and honestly, I didn't want to leave. I had other plans later, but if I didn't, I probably would have stayed and danced all night. Even if you come by yourself, you won't feel alone for long. As long as you have an open personality and good energy, people will talk to you, dance with you, and make you feel right at home. I haven't been on a Monday yet, which is what they advertise for my age range (I'm 28), but I'm definitely planning to check it out. I also heard Sundays are house music, so if that's your vibe, it's worth stopping by. Will I be back to Melba's? Hell yeah. Did I have a great time at Melba's? Absolutely. It was a whole vibe. If you're looking for a vibe--go to Melba's.

A group of our friends are hoping to put together a Friday night gaming extravaganza in their home, and while I have no interest in D&D, I do look forward to watching/listening as the others play. Jeremy was inside the store for less than 10 minutes. I was surprised how quickly he returned, but he said that there was nothing interesting in the store and that he had bought a collapsible dice tray because he felt bad for interacting with the store employee, and decided to buy something. Scammy Practices, systems and behaviors SELLERS BEWARE…read more On first glance this is a simple, little retro game store with charm and all the vibes you want from a place like this. So I go there for the first time with the intentions of doing business. I call ahead tell them I have a small retro game collection I found in my storage unit and I'd like to sell it if they are interested. I drove over and bring the games in. I will show pictures of this collection. Including a working ps3 slim and about 30 games across various platforms (ps3, ps2, GameCube, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox one). At 2 pm The clerk there told me she was the only one there and they had an event at 6 and need time to look through everything and can I come back later and leave the games here. No one in the store at the moment however... Ok sure. I ask if they will give me a receipt or voucher or something stating they have my collection and haven't paid for them yet. They tell me they are making an office waiver but don't have it yet..... ok so wtf. I'm supposed to just trust you people. But like I said it looked like a nice lil mom and pop store. I've run my own small business for a decade so I trusted they were above board and not going anywhere and I had already documented all the games so why not. Let's trust them to be professionals. She tells me I can come back tonight and she will call me when they are ready. 9pm close rolls around and no call yet... I wait the night and call at 1pm the next day. Same story. They aren't done yet. I say I'll call back later. They say nah we will call you. Literally. I wait till 8 pm again and now they call. They tell me the offer is $44 in cash or $60 in store. I say. WTF I estimated the value conservatively and with them Turing a profit in mind and had the whole collection at about $450. I'm a business owner and not new to commission businesses or wholesalers or buy and sell places. I do it myself. I know the basic ranges of things and market value. So I say f it. They are joking imma go get my games back since they aren't serious and have now wasted 2 days of my time I coulda took them somewhere else. Or EBay. I drive back now for the 2nd time. The lady there is the same and says oh here's your games, what do I wanna do. I decline the offer and ask why is so low. She says she doesn't know she didn't check them. Highly annoyed I just take the box and go. I get home and the next morning I go to list the games myself on eBay. I notice the highest priced game in the collection is missing.... Folklore for PS3. Easily valued at $80-$120 And these ppl wanted to give me $40 for the whole thing.... SCAM I double check to make sure the game hadn't fallen out in my trunk and that I'm not jumping to conclusions. I'm not. I go back to the store. Now my 3rd useless time wasting trip there. I finally meet the guy who did my product evaluation. I go in and immediately ask where my f'n game is and what are they playing at. I got a bs offer after you waste my time and now yall stealing my best game too. Dude says "oh the case was dirty and I was gonna clean it and forgot to put it back with the rest, I forgot to tell the last girl to give it back to you too, my bad"....... wtf. Sureeeeeee ok. Give me my stuff. I got it back and then asked him how he got to that nonsense offer and was told that's just how the system they use ranked the priced for each game. They didn't even really do any research themselves. SMH So I take my stuff home and in the first 5 min of listing the items on eBay I sell two (manhunt and RE4 GameCube) for more ($55) then the entire offer these rip off artist tried to give me. Don't sell anything to these ppl. Just go play D&D and leave. They didn't know this but I'm actually an influencer (600k YouTube , 400k ig, 300k Snapchat, etc) and I shoulda flamed them on line but I'll spare them this time. Check out the pic of the collection and let me know if you think $40 was a fair offer. I think not and very bad business on their end. Not professional at all. Way more worried about they table top nights then any actual customers or potential clients I guess. Oh well. I won't be going back.

By far, Party on the Avenue is the most inviting and memorable. I have been to POTA twice and both times, have walked away feeling satisfied. A couple of things you should know: 1. The party is upstairs - so if you walk in and no one greets ya... it's because who actually parties on the main floor? 2. The paints provided are legitimate paints. They don't run and it's not the cheap paints you get from these overpriced paint nites. 3. The canvas is flat, which is nice... especially if you want to frame them after you've finished your masterpiece. 4. Amy is so energetic and helpful. She always has a big smile and music playing, so she can dance her way around the paintings. 5. You can bring your own booze. SOLID. 6. These "parties" will last you a solid 3-4 hours, because you're usually relaxing and enjoying your time but you're also painting a more difficult photo usually. 7. The calendar on the POTA site let's you know the "event" days. My favorite, obviously is Paint your Pet night. Amy drafts up a pencil sketch or your pet and you paint it... really is an awesome experience! So who's ready to paint, hon?
