Adorable two level Italian place with brick oven pizza, pasta and full bar. I'm from Chicago and the decor reminded me of a speakeasy downtown from the 20s. The cocktails, wines and beers seemed higher end than similarly priced restaurants, the crowd was mixed young and middle aged.
Provolone al forno: This is a must order. Cheese was mild due to it being provolone, tomato sauce very liberally applied. Was like a tasty high end pizza in a puffed pastry shell. 5/5
Burrata: Super soft, with good accoutrements. Sun dried tomatoes, some greens, avocado, anchovies. 5/5
Gnocchi 4 formaggio: Very very Gorgonzola-y and blue-cheesy. I love strong cheeses, but the taste was tiring after a while. This was edible but definitely not the stand out dish. 3.5/5
Tiramisu: Another must order. MUST. Not very strongly coffee flavored but oh so creamy. If I could give it 10/5 I would but to remain loyal to my system: 5/5
If I can squeak in another visit I'm gonna get the Faggottinis de Pera con Trufa. read more
