We were walking back to our hotel after having visited the Guinness Storehouse when we saw this place. The name intrigued us so we decided to stop in for a drink and a bite. The place is really popular, especially the outside seating. There was none available when we arrived so we found a seat inside. It was a very sunny and warm day so it was very warm inside the pub. The 2nd floor was much warmer than the 1st floor. Thankfully we found a table on the 1st floor and snagged it before someone else did. The pub offers board games which the people next to us were playing while we ate and drank. We ordered the bacon with fried mashed potatoes with cabbage (except we got salad greens instead of cabbage--not sure what happened) and fish and chips. The fish was nice and flaky. My boyfriend tried the Galway Bay Brewery drink Of Foam and Fury which he really enjoyed. Service was sporadic because the place was so busy but our waitress was nice when we had her attention.

This spot was the best find everrrrr! I love independent craft beer and they had it. Flew in from California and needed a spot close to my hotel to imbibe. I went back 3 times during my stay because the service was top notch and the beer cold and tasty. Each visit I showed my vax card, gave them my contact details and ordered local Galway bay beers. I told my beer buddy and she wanted to come too. Twice we stayed until they kicked us out. Love this spot and highly recommend. Food was also fantastic. I had sweet potato fries and I can't remember what my buddy got...lol. #pints

I booked a hotel at the very last minute for our stop in Ireland...and it happened to be right across the street from this beaut. What are the odds! The Beer Market was my first stop in Dublin and potentially also my favorite stop. It was such a chill scene with a whole bunch of local crafts on draft. Our English bartender (the long-haired guy) was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He even noticed when I started checking my beers in on Untappd. Nice. I only ordered a couple drafts but it was definitely the type of place in which I could've spent hours trying all the local flavors. I'm so bummed I couldn't find time to return after that first visit, but if I'm ever in Dublin again, this place is on my must-visit list.

Elderflower pale ale - can't get more hipster than that. But it was delish and washed down the lovely sharing platter. The platter could easily feed 4 but of course Brian and I took it upon ourselves to finish it between us! Bartender was very knowledgeable - give him an idea of what kinda ale/lager/stout you like; he'll recommend a few on draught and let you sample it before committing to a pint. Sound!

They are living up to this motto. Certainly not the cheapest

My modus operandi here us to have one drink and move on. Select something unusual that I haven't had previously. What is becoming clear now is craft beer is bring used as a opportunity to charge way over the odds. I don't drink macro beer any more but I would like to see greater competition from a price point of view. 12 euro for a 33cl glass of beer? I know what this costs in the UK US etc and even add our extortionate tax regime import and shipping costs it's still out of alignment. The marketing of craft beer = higher price isn't sustainable.

There's a lot to really like about The Beer Market. They have a large selection of beers on tap, all clearly numbered and listed on blackboards. The staff are very friendly and ready to give advice on what beers they have in. They'll happily give you a few samples before you make up your mind. Don't expect to be getting a pint for under €5.50, however, it's the city center and you're getting quality world beers. As with the other Galway Bay bars, the food here is pretty solid for pub food and is reasonably priced. The servings are huge, we got the snack board (€15) between two and didn't manage to finish it. They have a lot of deals on sharing platters for parties which looked very reasonable too, definitely worth consideration as a party location for beer lovers. The only negative I had was the atmosphere, compared with the other Galway Bay bars, it is lacking in The Beer Market. I'm not sure if it's the layout of the bar or it's location, but it doesn't seem to have the same buzz.

You want craft beer...? New or a seasoned craft beer drinker... This place is for you! endless options available here from on tap to bottle options, they staff are always on hand to help you choose a beer. Their recommendations have always went down a treat. I actually did the craft beer tasting here, a group of 4 of us... We had a barman serve us up some delights from the on draught range, he talked through the history of each and the brewery. Really knowledgeable, we had a craft beer fanatic with us and with the most unusual questions, the barman was ready with the answers. As the tasting session moved along, I liked how he worked with what we were liking/not liking and actually at one point mixed it up, offering one of the party different ones from the rest of us. They serve pieman pie's here... Not heard of them... Boy, you are missing out, I kid you not. Pop on down here for a beer and a pie... You will not be disappointed.

The newest Galway Bay Brewery bar opened in Christchurch this week (same chain as The Black Sheep, Brew Dock, Against the Grain, Alfie Byrnes and Dark Horse) Came here to try Founders' Blushing Monk as I had spotted they tweeted this before they opened but unfortunately they'd ran out the night before! Still they had another raspberry beer on draft - Lindeman's Framboise. I've had it before and it's good. Was pretty quiet when we went but to be fair it was early enough on a very wet Saturday afternoon.. Food wise they're serving Pieman pies all day / night. No nonsense really as its all about beer here! This seems to be a craft beer heaven!! They're only doing craft beer here. They've 20 taps and I think I counted maybe 40 different bottles on the blackboard.

The newest of the Galway Bay bars, doing something different from all the others. Instead of branded beer taps like you'll see in every other bar in Dublin, here you'll see a list of numbered taps. The beer in each tap is listed on chalkboards around the top of the bar. Expect to see some spectacular beers that are rare on these shores. The beers also tend to rotate quickly so there's something new every day. They also have a large selection of bottles if none of the 20 taps take your fancy If you're peckish, they sell a selection of pies with gravy for €7.50 as well as crisps. The only downside to this place is it's a craft beer only bar. No wine, no spirits, no macro breweries. The bar staff are always more than happy to let you sample a beer before you buy if you're unsure. Next time you're going to a show in Vicar St, call in and give it a go. If you're a beer fan, you'll be in Nirvana.

If you want a break from Guinness and want to try some crafty Irish beers definitely check this place out. Lots of beers on tap from Galway Bay and lots to choose from in can/bottle. Plus their food is great!

If you like good beer...go to The Beer Market! The newest addition to the Galway Bay Brewery family doesn't disappoint! I went to try the Blushing Monk as kriek is something I follow around Dublin like a desperate One Direction fan but unfortunately they were out of it. The barman did recommend a lovely raspberry beer they had on tap, it wasn't as sweet as I had hoped but it was really good, good enough for me to have a second- which is saying something given the extensive selection of really good beers here. I also had a bottle of La Chouffe, a lovely Belgian pale ale before trying the Foam & Fury which was also on tap. The refreshing thing about this bar is that the taps change on a regular basis meaning you have the opportunity to try different beers you might not find in many other places. The atmosphere is relaxed and there was a nice mix of the after-work crowd and people who came to try some of the great beers on offer. If you get peckish, they serve Pieman pies here, the perfect partner for beer. The only criticism I have is that it's not that big so it gets packed very easily.

Ok, so how could I resist? The sign outside said "devoted to beer". I had to take a peek. It is a craft brew establishment. Based on what I saw, looks like it is run by the Galway Bay Brewery. I wanted to try craft beer from Ireland, so I ordered a flight of 3 for about 5 and a half euro. Not too bad. I really liked all 3. #1 - Of foam and fury - a double IPA. Touted as an award winning beer was pretty good. #3 - Dortmunder - a lager, probably my favorite of the three, yummy. #5 - Buried at sea- a milk chocolate stout was really good. I tasted coffee. The taster tray is only for the Galway Bay Beers and I do recommend. The bartender writes the number of the beer chosen on the tray, lest you forget. I cannot review the food so much, I only had the chunky fries which were true to their name but a bit gritty, not sure why. Nice beers nice vibe.

The signs outside tell you everything you need to know. Beer.

The signs outside tell you everything you need to know. Beer. We stopped here after visiting the Guinness Storehouse. We each tried a Galway brew to start, then asked the bar keep to suggest our next choice. He suggested a nice Belgian dubbel that was delightful. My husband had a porter that was described as tiramisu in a glass and lived up to it. Great little spot for a quick pint or two.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.
