As Charing Cross is an option for me going home most days, there are those days where I just miss my direct train and have a 20 or so minute wait. When the decision is to either catch several trains or go for a quick pint, the decision is easy. This is where The Beer House comes in.
Located on the far left of the Charing Cross station near platform 1, the Beer House is a small pub with a really extensive selection of craft beers. I've had beers from the likes of BrewDog, Meantime, Lone Star, Sam Adams and others. With a selection across tap and bottle, it is always worth a cheeky one in here between trains.
The downside is that during the peak evening commuting hours, the seats are limited as there aren't a lot to start with. Also, the price of beers reflects that it is a pub in a busy train station. I've paid between £4 to £5.80 for a pint of delicious nectar here. On the upside, they have takeaway mini-cases, great for a long journey or a boozy return home! read more
