The Beach Inn is a delightful motel. It's simple and quaint. We really liked George, but everyone was wonderful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. They offer a free breakfast each morning and free bags of ice for your cooler. Gorgeous flowers everywhere and nothing can beat the view. A cute little shop to buy your swag and conveniently located to town and pictured rocks. We will be back! read more

We were so happy with Yelp reiews, so we called and and they only had two rooms left. We had great service from the phone call to check in. The room was clean and cozy. We were upstairs and all rooms have a view of the lake. Complimentary breakfast was cereal, bagels,fruit, yogurt,etc. We were so happy with our stay and will definitely book again. Adorable motel from the outside and great Lake Superior lakefront lawn with chairs, picnic table, and grille. These same amenities are avaible at the pier-side park downtown. Room left a lot to be desired. Paid $200 for the smallest lakefront room and was not worth it. Bedding was clean; however, room was not and maintenance was poor. Cobwebs in most corners and up the walls behind doors, dirty coffee pot, coffee splattered on window sill. Weatherstripping separated from door and daylight coming through, pine trim not sealed before painted so the sap is coming through, drywall coming apart in multiple areas, shower caulk and drywall separated from the shower, 1/3 of the bathroom ceiling was patched and repainted leaving the rest to not match, sloppy painting and patch not painted. Had a frig and microwave but lacking typical amenities like iron, ironing board, alarm clock and outlets. Literally one outlet available and none by the bed. TV great for the deaf because ability to turn off closed captioning was disabled. See pics for examples. I'd suggest finding other lodging. Perhaps rooms other than 125 are better. While this is close to town, there is a motel and hotel in town that are comparable to the cute outside of Beach Inn Motel. read more

Small, quaint and perfectly situated on the water. This small hotel/motor lodge has really nice rooms with sliders leading out to a giant grassy area with a lot of great little areas to sit and watch the sun set. The ladies at the desk were so sweet, Accommodating, wanting to talk about the area and just all around great stewards for the UP and Munising!!! Breakfast was great- no complaints at all! Great little inn that is more secluded and located a ways from town - on the east side of Munising Bay, which provides excellent sunset views. The hotel has an ample picnic and lounging area, furnished with tables, chairs, and even a bbq, right on the bay. The room was perfectly adequate. One word of caution - there is currently construction on the only road to the hotel. The only way to access the hotel is from the east, which the hotel should have advised us in advance, especially when they texted me the day before to confirm my arrival. read more

Almost perfect! Great view of the bay (that runs into Lake Superior). Since it is a motel, ALL the rooms have a view! The staff is SO friendly! Although not listed on the website they offer continental breakfast, nothing spectacular but a must if trying to save a bit of cash on vacation! All rooms have coffee, microwave and fridge. Doesn't seem like much, but some don't so it's great when they do. Also here are grills for use, tables and seating outside. They even have FREE ice bags for your cooler, and forget your cooler? They have those for your use too! The staff is VERY knowledgeable and helpful about the area too. Great stay! I'm coming back! read more

Very comforting stay and such nice inn keepers! They're continental breakfast is on the small side, but the location is so nice and peaceful! They are also pet friendly and allow you to keep a pet for a $20 fee in the lower level rooms. This place was also the perfect location for all the falls in the area! read more

We stayed two nights (last week) and yes the view is great and its in close proximity to all activities but not having hot water to shower for two days is sucky!! We were in room 114 and told by the lady at the front desk that because our room was at the end we have to wait for the water to warm up. We even tried showering at non-peak times like between 2pm and 4pm - nope not even lukewarm just cold !!! Also make sure their electrical sockets actually work - I charged my phone overnight and it was dead the next morning! read more

I stayed here at the end of June 2016. I grew up just a couple of miles away and wanted to stay at a hotel on the lake. This place was fairly new and looks very nice from the street. Upon arrival, the woman at the desk seemed quite grumpy and unprofessionally dressed. Throughout our stay I typically only saw her at the end of the driveway smoking and texting. The room had a great view. That's the only thing it has going for it! The walls are paper-thin, there are NO artwork or mirrors in the room (except for the bathroom mirror). There isn't a closet, ironing board, iron, nowhere to hang clothes, or really any storage space beyond a small dresser. The microwave was dirty with melted cheese, something that wasn't cleaned up throughout our stay. The railing on the balcony was broken so my 2-year-old could push it out and fall, possibly to her death. Housekeeping didn't vacuum our room or wipe down the surfaces while we were there, kind of bad considering we're at the beach...and kids with sand. I believe there were code violations in the form of not having a sprinkler system in the rooms and there was no emergency exit strategy posted on the back of the doors. All in all, the room was a depressing place to be and we eagerly looked forward to checking out. Completely regrettable considering the peak-season rates we paid! Don't be fooled by the hotel's curb appeal. The inside isn't as gorgeous. read more

The pictures online make this motel look like a gem but don't be deceived. The continental breakfast was a big reason we chose this place but it was literally a sheet of paper posted in the lobby with a choice of: yogurt, granola bar, apple or packaged danish. We did not get house keeping service because we only stayed two days. I had to go to the lobby again and ask "miss attitude" for extra towels and new coffee packs. Apparently you have to stay 4 or more nights to get house keeping services. The tiny bathroom was dingy and dirty. The mini coffee maker in the room was fine but the pot still had the previous guest's coffee remains in it! Clearly not cleaned out. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the view. Thankfully we didn't spend much time in the room. read more

We loved it! We were looking for a nice dog-friendly hotel for a good price and we found it! Very clean, very attractive, right on the bay. You can sit outside on the balcony connected to your room or on the chairs down by the water. Very quiet and the staff is super helpful. Continental breakfast is satisfying and they had granola bars you could take with you on your Pictured Rocks adventure. It's very conveniently situated near Munising, waterfalls, and Miners Castle... when we visited there was construction on the entrance road which just meant a slight detour, and the hotel staff made sure we were aware of it well before our visit and reminded us just before our arrival as well. The rooms get really warm and stuffy over the day but easily fixed by the AC or opening the back door for a bay breeze. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel. read more

We stayed at The Beach Inn Motel on Monday, September 26, 2021. We experienced some concerns with our room. I showed pictures to the desk clerk when I checked out and sent a letter to their web address too. No one responded to my letter. 1. I tried to turn up the air conditioner / heater and found the control was broken. The temperature unit was not able to be adjusted. 2. I then tried to take a warm shower. The fiberglass tub finish is flaking off! The drain stopper was a rubber stop plug! 3. The shower control valve is not functioning properly. It is loose and will not rotate to get a warm shower. I was only able to get a lukewarm shower. My morning shower went from lukewarm to cold then back to lukewarm. 4. The drywall repair behind the bathroom door is not finished properly. It was first coated and never sanded and finished coated then painted over. 5. The bed pillows are worn out. Even with two they did not give the proper neck support. 6. The beds. Both mattresses are worn out! I could feel the springs while laying on it. My wife had to take Tylenol the next morning for pain relief. So much for a restful night's sleep! This was the most expensive motel we stayed in on our Upper Peninsula trip. With that being said, the motel had the worst accommodations. It is not worth the view of Grand Island Harbor Bay. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with The Beach Inn. My husband and I always stay at Hiltons or large chain hotels, but you don't find too many in THE U.P. The hotel was very clean and had a beautiful view. I understand they are seasonal hotel, but if they are going to continue to charge around $200 per night, they should put some Art Work(ie. Pictured Rock Pictures) and window treatments to help block out sunlight. I do have one complaint, we went when it was 90 degrees and checked in around 6pm. The AC unit had not been running. The room was so hot and took hours to cool down. When the hotel knows a room is booked and it's that hot, turn on the AC in the room for your guests. read more

You had to ask for towels, Kleenex or anything else you may need. They didn't service the room every day...only when asked. The internet was very intermittent which was frustrating. Kids and pets were making noise by running up and down the aisle way in front of our window. Dogs were allowed in rooms and they barked a lot. The noise from kids, pets and people on the beach went on until 12:30 am and began again at 7 am. No rest on this vacation. The cost of the room was very expensive for the lack of service, amenities and noise. The rooms were far from updated. The blinds didn't work so the light peeked through the window all night. It didn't feel clean. My advice is to spend a little more and stay and the Holiday Inn Express on the Beachfront right down the road. read more

The best place to stay in Munising. New motel, just outside of the main business district. There are not too many place that offer beach front lodging. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. Be sure to ask for a room on the first floor, so you can access the grounds directly. Plenty of lawn chairs, picnic tables and grills for your use. Nice view of the bay. The outdoor space is great for relaxing after a day's activities in the area. Sand Point beach is a coupl.e minutes away by car. read more

Adorable motel outside of the main business district. Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The motel is set up in such a manner that all rooms have a view of the bay. You enter your room street side & have a second door to a nice area on the bay. We had a ground floor room & were able to walk out to the water. The outdoor area is nicely arranged with plenty of chairs, a couple grills & a stunning view! No actual beach, despite the name. You would have to step over a couple rocks to get in the water, but a short drive would get you to the beach. We loved it & would definitely go back! read more

I give a 5star rating for the location and view. The staff was sort of friendly. I found all the week in the UP that business hired people who were too bothered to be there. I really don't get it. The rooms were clean. Plain. But they looked updated. Continental breakfast was to be expected. But not gross. Good coffee. We will stay next summer for our trip. The price was a bit steep but not unreasonable. Beds were really not comfortable. Sheets were clean. We were on the second floor. I think being on the first floor, I would have heard the people walking above me. read more

This place was cute and a great value, around $120/night. each room opens to the parking lot and the waterside, get a patio level room and you can walk right out to the lawn. In the back you had a big grassy yard that looked out onto Lake Superior, there were outdoor chairs, a fire pit, a charcoal grill (They had charcoal available free of charge). The fire pit was fun, we met people from all over and it made the experience more enjoyable. They have a simple continental breakfast (Yogurt, Pastry, Cereal). It was easy to find and a great location, no beach but beach access on sister property 1/4 mile down the road. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights because of booking a kayaking trip in the area. It was such a great hotel. Clean, generous room, breakfast included and very friendly staff. The view...gorgeous view of the bay. This is definitely the place we would come back to anytime we will be in this area. We loved the outdoor area and the sunsets across the water. read more
