This campground looks unassuming at first glance, but it really has everything you need. Our site was equipped with outlets and water hookups, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Firewood is available for purchase at the little camp store. The whole campground sits on the edge of the lake which provides great sunsets. It was oddly quiet in the morning (minus a rude couple using drills to tear down their setup at 6AM, but that was not the campground's fault as they do have quiet hours)-- which is unusual for a family campground. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

After the first night of my stay, I went to the office to inquire about the campfire policy because…read morea neighboring site's smoke had been blowing through mine for several hours (this was in the daylight, it was warm out, AND the group had left their site and left the fire unattended). The person working laughed at me and essentially told me 'f-you, we don't care about your experience, we aren't going to do anything about it'. Each subsequent night, fires were left burning and unattended while the site occupants slept. On top of the reprehensible customer service and fire safety, the sites are crammed on top of one another with no trees and zero privacy. Also, the water and electric pedestals are shared between 2-4 sites each. On the plus side, it is right on the beach (assuming you can stand being around all the smoke long enough to enjoy it) and close to town. So much for spending time outdoors to enjoy the fresh air.

The spots are decent sized and I did like they were spaced apart. I don't like vault toilets but this spot was a compromise for a camping trip with my boyfriend. I need showers and actual bathrooms but for a day in a tent this place was actually really good. The toilets didn't smell but definitely take a light with you as there isn't one in there and even in daylight it's a little dark.

I would recommend the campsites on the river, good views of the River and your own spot to launch your water craft. I would recommend site 13. The loop around the site is paved so good for pushing a stroller. We stayed a couple nights in September, colors were great and the kayaking was excellent on the Indian, I would recommend putting in closer to Steuben. We did the stretch from McCormick to the access on bass lake road, awesome water and scenery to float, fishing was poor but end of September was too late, I'm sure action would be good in the summer. Maps located at access points on the River. There is a very friendly convenience store just south on 13 where the lady was glad to let me fill up my camper with potable water and has gas, another one just north that looked nice too. As other reviewers mentioned, there is absolutely no shade anywhere on the grounds, people were literally sitting outside the bathroom building with chairs just to escape the sun. There's a small playground for kids, but not much else in terms of activities. Road noise is noticeable while tent camping, so expect a steady hum of traffic. One positive: they don't seem to care what you put on your site. We had an RV, a tent, bikes, and a car all together, and it was completely fine.

Camp Seven Lake was a beautiful spot for our annual friend camping trip this year. Our friend's…read morecoworker and her family have camped here every year for the past decade, and I can definitely see why. Getting to the campground was a little dicey as we didn't have great cell service for our map - I recommend writing out the turns beforehand and taking screen shots of the map route to help. The drive in was super pot-holey and a bit rough so take it slow and watch for craters! The sites at Camp Seven Lake are huge and not packed in super close like some parks. Lake Seven is 60 acres and great for boating and fishing, plus there's a really nice, small beach. There is lots of grassy space for picnics and bocce ball/yard games as well. The vault toilets were kept fairly clean and I never had to bring in extra toilet paper with me. The camp host stopped by a couple of times to see if we needed anything and was very friendly. The whole camp seemed really quiet and I never had any complaints about noise. There were lots of families and campers but it made for great tent camping too - our site had plenty of shade. It rained a bit on our first and last days, but the sites are made of small gravel that drained really well, so the sites weren't holding water. I had been worried about bugs, and they weren't too bad but I did use a LOT of DEET due to allergic reactions to insect bites. We were on sites 29 and 30 which was a great location - super close to the beach and vault toilet/water. Another thing we noticed was that the drinking water was by far the best we've ever tasted at any campground! No iron taste or sulphur smell. Just clear, clean tasting, pretty cold water. The beach was very clean and never really that busy; our friends told us that it never gets too crowded. Pack an inflatable tube and float in the swimming area! The only downside of the area is that there's not a ton around. Usually we like to check out breweries and sights when we go camping or at least hit up the camp store for ice and firewood. There's no camp store but Linda's Bread Box is a convenience store nearby, and Kitch-it-i-kipi is a big natural spring that is definitely worth a visit. Otherwise you can go to Manistique or up to Munising. We were traveling with a baby so we mostly stuck close to the campground, which was still great fun. I would love to go back to this campground again next summer!

This place was just a great as described by others. The cozy log cabin feel was so inviting. Our room was clean and homey - such a pleasure to discover after arriving in the middle of the night. There's a real sense of personal charm - even family members of the owner who run the restaurant next door. So much better than any chain motel we stayed in on our trip. The restaurant serves the UP favorite - pasties. I totally recommend this place for travelers looking for a great deal and a warm atmosphere.
