This is by far the best bar/restaurant and campground in the UP! The owners are personally involved in all aspects of the businesses and it shows. Quality food and beer on tap? Yep! Beautiful, clean cabins and free/fast WiFi? You betcha! The location is literally minutes from Picture Rocks, Big Spring and Manistique. The place is a historic gem with 21st century amenities. Stayed 7/3-7/11/21. Loved this campground! Small, but peaceful and quiet. Spacious wooded sites, some with E/W/S. Clean bathhouse and nice camp store. Loved the Friday fish fry at the lodge and delicious burgers. Food was fabulous. Super friendly staff at the lodge and they hustled to serve the steady flow of patrons. Perfectly located between Manistique and Munising off the beaten path. Highly recommended for some UP rest and relaxation! read more

So as a tourist heading from Mackinac to Munising, I have to start by saying that as far as I can see on my map, there is NOTHING in the area other than this place. So as far as places to stay and eat in the area, it's hard to beat. The cabin was as expected. Not quite as tidy as I'd expect out of a hotel room, but for a cabin in the UP it was fine. The food was really good. I was surprised to see the place fill up so quickly on a Wednesday night. Everyone from grandparents to little kids here. The prices were really a lot higher than I was expecting, but I guess they've got a captive population in this area. Where else are you going to go within a 20 minute drive? But $10 for a pint of local beer? Really? I mean, it was all very good and the staff was very friendly so if you don't mind an expensive night out, this is a pretty good place. read more

Old trees and their roots make seeing the tables in this place worth the drive. Burgers are excellent. Wish they still had the cheese curds. There is supposedly a surprise In The basement. Wanna see that next time we go. Love the pool table here. Great atmosphere. Always a friendly person to visit with. read more

They've changed the menu since my last review, and although they don't have the delicious grilled cheese they used to have, they've made quite a few things to the menu. My husband adores the smoked turkey sandwich. As a vegetarian I was quite pleased with the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. read more

I will be real: I am vegan. So I was a bit worried about how comfortable I would be staying in the Yoop for a few days (and what I would eat), but from the first call to book a cabin, Jack Pine was friendly and awesome. They even have a really delish vegan burger on the menu in the restaurant, which was conveniently located just a few steps away from our cabin. The cabin fit six of us perfectly, and it was clean and full of all the necessities like cups, plates, pans, etc. My only complaint is that we had a few issues with locking the door, which was a bit stressful. Overall the staff at the lodge and restaurant were super nice and welcoming, even to us city folks. ;) I would stay again and definitely recommend! read more

Just got back from the Jack Pine Lodge about an hour ago. I had a pepsi, cheeseburger, and an order of the mozz sticks. The burger was off their new charbroiler, but I've had better. The cheese on the burger was a little dry. Could have used more flavor also. The mozz sticks were perfect, I am a fan of those. My father order smoked bbq beef brisket and an order of the fried mushrooms. He rated the sandwhich 10/10 and said it was excellent along with the mushrooms. The atmosphere was awesome along with the service. I'd go back for seconds. Next time I'll try the new smoked chicken. read more

Stopped in for my birthday dinner, as we were staying locally in a cabin in the woods. Got a free shot of JD for my b'day drink. Had the Burrito, wife had the Jack Pine burger. Burger was great - it had that char-broiled taste and was cooked to order (med-rare), but burrito was not served as hot as it could have been. Pricing was reasonable. Close to snowmobile trails - lodging also available, but we are not juding on the basis of that. We would go back - jukebox was great, atmosphere about what you would expect for a place in the UP. read more

My husband and I have lived in Michigan our whole lives and have never been to the UP! We decided to take a long weekend and the search for reservations began. It is hard to find cabins that only hold 2 people - but then I stumbled across the Jack Pine Lodge website and ordered our room! We had such an amazing weekend!! The room - although small - was perfect for just the 2 of us! The room was fully furnished, had a picnic table, fire pit, outside chairs and was just as cute as could be! We walked over to the bar and had a few drinks throughout the weekend and was greeted by friendly, welcoming staff. I can not comment on the food as we brought our own and BBQ'd all weekend - but from what other campers said, the burgers were awesome! We are already planning on coming back next year for a longer stay - and will definitely come back to Jack Pine!! Thank You for making our first visit to the UP an amazing one!! read more

We were warned about our 2 dogs being on a leash tied to the camper for 1 hr. The next day we went to Tractor Supply and bought cages for the dogs. Which I hated but it would keep them under control. They told us to put them in the camper. As long as they were in the camper it was ok. We put them in the camper with food and water and with the air conditioning on. Went to Pictured rock from 12:30 to 4:30 came back and they kicked us out because dogs barking INSIDE the camper. NOT outside. They have no rights to the inside of your camper. It clearly says outside of camper dogs can not be unattended. They do not have the rights of inside camper. If they hate dogs or dislike them this much maybe they should say no pets. Never again. I am currently in dispute with the money. The owner threatened me to come over with police because of animal abuse. He found out it was not the case and then offered us a cabin where we could leave our dogs in while out. What is the difference if they are in the camper vs their cabin?? Still confused about that one. At this point, I was already mad and responded you just accused me of animal abuse and I am not staying here! The owner stated he didn't want to ruin our vacation and wanted to resolve this situation. I said 6 hrs of driving, kicked out 2 days into our vacation on Thursday with our other party joining us half way here crossing the bridge is a little to late. We left. Over $2400 in dispute. Just to think, he could have made a lot more money. For all of us left 2 cabins 1 cottage and 3 campsites. The next day our cabins were rented out! Beware of the camp host for when she has it out for you she is nothing but NOT nice!!! Trying to find anything and everything to complain about as well to put the icing on the cake.... read more

Stopped here at the recommendation of locals. We snowmobiled to this place on a Monday afternoon. It was a quiet little place, but with great burgers and drinks! Maybe one of the best burgers I've ever had. Staff was super friendly. Be sure to see the Indian downstairs. Would definitely go back again. read more
