Check-in was a breeze, the owners are very accommodating. As we were very late booking, we got one of the unrenovated rooms, which yes, is dated, but they were clean. And we were barely in the room at all. Just showered and slept, as Munising is all about being outside. The rest of the motel grounds are super chill, with plenty of space to spread out outside, a cool dog, and interesting folks to chat with. The best part is that it's walking distance, a couple blocks, to the brew pubs and such in downtown Munising, so was the perfect location. Looking forward to seeing the changes in store for the place. Best of luck to the new owners!

Perfect little spot for exploring Pictured Rocks! We stayed…read morehere while visiting Pictured Rocks, Miners Castle, and Lake Superior, and it was exactly what we needed for a night on the road. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice shower/bathroom, mini fridge, and some sort of hot-water thingy that I never quite figured out . Check-in was super easy. I was able to check in right from my phone, and they sent us a numerical code to get into the room, so there was no hassle with keys or waiting around. They also have a community fire pit, which would be such a nice place to relax after a day of exploring. And they're dog-friendly, which was one of the reasons we chose this place! We ended up leaving our dog at home this trip, but I love having that option for future adventures. The staff was friendly, everything was clean, and the whole experience was easy and convenient. If you're looking for a simple, comfortable place to spend the night while exploring the Upper Peninsula and Lake Superior, this is a great choice. We'd definitely stay here again!

Room was spacious and luxurious with second floor deck to view two lakes. Upon arrival to our room we were greeted with refreshing limeade and the best tasting spring water you will know from their own well. Our hostess and host made us so comfortable and gave the best recommendations for sites and restaurants in the area. Our breakfast each morning was incredible and very healthy ranging from fruit bowl, homemade yogurt with berries & nuts, great coffee, oatmeal and also bacon and other items at your request. Our room was very private and impeccably clean and decorated. Bed was very comfy. We would recommend this B&B most certainly and give it a 5 Star rating. See our photos.

It's nestled on the shores of Lake Au Train, which is much warmer than Lake Superior but puts you close enough to explore all the best of the UP & Lake Superior cruises. Each cabin has a fire pit and grill, you can buy wood on site, and many of the cabins have been completely remodeled to include both charm and amenities (AC, tv with streaming options etc). The resort itself is small and would be a great place for a family reunion. There are plenty of boating options and the sand family that owns the resorts also owns a business up there road renting kayaks and canoes. There is a convenience store and pizza place within walking distance and the Pictured Rocks and downtown Munising are just a short drive away. We loved our visit and we'll definitely be back!

Reservations were by phone and I received a confirmation email with instructions on where to meet. The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We walked the 1/3 mile up the road to the put-in, though the resort offers a free shuttle as well. The river is glorious: a 7-mile easy float through mostly uninhabited areas in the U.P., with clear water, towering pines, sand beaches, and wildlife. The ducks are very friendly and will approach looking for handouts. We enjoyed our 2+ hours on the river and will definitely be back.
