The living room In our cabin had a queen bed-comfortable for sleeping but we either had to sit at the table or on the bed when we were just hanging out inside. It worked great for us! 4-6 minutes from our kayak tour, the sunken ships tour and the ferry to Grand Island all in Munising.

Sitting on the porch an enjoying the sun in the morning was great. Cabins 1 and 2 are by the water but the rest if the cabins do not have a place to access the beach. We came to kayak so it was not an issue for us but if you are looking to hang out at the lake you definitely want cabin 1 or 2.

I think now it's the cleaning schedule they have for it Maybe to run in the middle of the night while you have renters. then the day we leave after going through thier check out list multiple times which is to basically clean the house for the house keepers so they dont have to pay them. they message us stating there was a dog there and we now owe them more money. I have picture, gps, and video proof all my animals were at home being cared for. if there was any dog hair from us it fell of our clothes and was absolutely minimal. we have huskies and st Bernard's they shed alot even with fresh cleaned clothes there is a small amount of hair on my clothes and we were there for a week. it is entirely possible a few dog hairs fell off our clothes but not nearly as much as my own post partum hair I bet. if you have animals I don't suggest staying with them or they will attempt to charge you more if they find a dog hair.

It's nestled on the shores of Lake Au Train, which is much warmer than Lake Superior but puts you close enough to explore all the best of the UP & Lake Superior cruises. Each cabin has a fire pit and grill, you can buy wood on site, and many of the cabins have been completely remodeled to include both charm and amenities (AC, tv with streaming options etc). The resort itself is small and would be a great place for a family reunion. There are plenty of boating options and the sand family that owns the resorts also owns a business up there road renting kayaks and canoes. There is a convenience store and pizza place within walking distance and the Pictured Rocks and downtown Munising are just a short drive away. We loved our visit and we'll definitely be back!

Reservations were by phone and I received a confirmation email with instructions on where to meet. The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We walked the 1/3 mile up the road to the put-in, though the resort offers a free shuttle as well. The river is glorious: a 7-mile easy float through mostly uninhabited areas in the U.P., with clear water, towering pines, sand beaches, and wildlife. The ducks are very friendly and will approach looking for handouts. We enjoyed our 2+ hours on the river and will definitely be back.

Ages 2-80 and there was something nearby for all to do. They also have cable and WiFi in the cabin as well so if you want a little down time it's available to you. It was a 6-6:30 hr drive for us but it was worth it. I definitely recommend this place if you have a large family looking to enjoy some time together out in nature. They do offer a smaller cabin next door to this place as well.

If you want to make epic family memories, look no further…read more I am not certain I can iterate the whole experience here but I am going to try: I'd like to begin by saying this was not our first time using a vacation rental; we have done so many times. Each experience through reading reviews, researching the property, and communicating with the property owner has been worthy of five stars. However, I'd give this one ten stars if I could. From the beginning, the communication and organization of our reservation, planning, and execution were easy, comfortable, and trustworthy. Upon arrival, we were blown away at the property, the facility, and OMG- the views! We had a group of six adults and seven kids and there was more than enough room. It is only 30 minutes to Marquette where we found a bit of a foodie-scene, shopping, hiking and mountain biking as well as any necessities you might need- Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. The mountain biking is remarkable - one of three areas we turned pedals while we were there. A half hour in the other direction you find Munising, Grand Island, and Pictured Rocks which you can research on your own, there is too much to tell of here but we hiked an out-of-this-world waterfall, and biked some super fun trails with something for the whole family. So, back to the Lodge... If you are coming from an apartment in the city, a farmhouse in the country, or living in your van, this place feels like home. Why? Because they have it all. Anything you are looking for in the kitchen, a legit coffee maker, comfortable beds (yes, comfortable beds), cozy corners and window beds for reading, trees for hammocks, deck space, a beach, a theater, a sauna, kayaks and paddle boards for rent (way fun!)... it's all there! Oh, and if you are a sunrise person, they have 'em. Maybe you are a sunset person, they have those too! North-facing onto Lake Superior, every time you look out it is a postcard-view! The room had a microwave and fridge as well as a grill outside for those that prefer to skip fast food and want home cooked meals! The best part was the location!
