History

Established in 1967.

Originally built in the early 1940's, (with several different owners in between), West Branch Resort was purchased in 1967 by Ed and Margie Schoenborn, and has become a protected gem of Michigan's wild and wonderful Upper Peninsula. Now owned and operated by Ed and Margie's daughter, Sharon, the resort continues its tradition of renting cabins, boats, canoes and adventure to those who are determined to experience the captivating qualities of the Hiawatha National Forest -- and to those who are hearty enough to make the trip.
