Love the southern flair! Great fried chicken sandwich. Great Mac and cheese. Great pulled pork. Great brussel sprouts... I could go on. Service is good, although the Bethlehem location is small- it's worth a reservation! Drinks are good, as well- jalapeno margarita - yum! read more

Great place for lunch. The food was made-to-order, so very fresh. We did shared apps, and all were delicious. The Hush Puppies are a must! Co-worker thought greens & rice that came with the catfish was a bit salty. Overall good ol' creole dining. read more

Great service and amazing food. Always looking to try something new when in Bethlehem and this restaurant transported us straight to NOLA. We had an assortment of small plates and nothing disappointed. Next time (yes, we've already planned our next trip) we'll try the favorites from the larger plate menu. Try. The. Beignets. read more

The food here is always amazing and even during covid they've kept a really clean, comfortable atmosphere. Love it here!

Just driving through and saw the reviews. The fried chicken...AMAZING! The brisket po-boy is equally great! Highly recommend.

Best food in bethlehem and the staff are cool as hell. 1. The Bayou 2. Blue Sky 2a. The Wooden Match 3. Horns 4. Full of Crepe 5. Hello Burrito read more

Great food and atmosphere. Been there a few times but most recently we split 6 small plates and they were all excellent. The good was very flavorful and presented very nicely. The staff also did a great job serving drinks, and making sure you didn't wait for anything. Another trip tried their burger and Po Boy Shrimp sandwich, both were again very tasty and didn't leave anything to be desired. Keep up the great work! read more

Ken Jones- This is my first "Yelp' review, as I am now jumping into the 'foodie" scene. I spent time in the south, west and northeast from my Military experience, and have experienced a lot of local cuisine. The Bayou definitely will expand your palate in what you think southern creole cooking is all about. When you come here and if you are from the south, try the Grits with cheddar cheese, spiced corned bread, and you must have the collard greens! I could eat a bowel of them all day. The Chef is so talented and receptive you your responses. I love it and when I find a problem with it I will report t, until then, enjoy wonderful food! read more

Made a reservation for Saturday (and suggest you do) and hoped for authentic Nawlins faire way north of Mason-Dixon! And while the exterior doesn't fit the name at all, the menu and food quality doesn't disappoint. Ambience inside is more northern than southern; the outside patio is quiet and more fitting the theme. Don't go for quantity, but instead for quality. Catfish and seared salmon were both perfectly prepared with interesting side ingredients. Prices are reasonable, and the beer menu is large enough. I'll return again. Thumbs up! read more

We have been there twice and have enjoyed the food, drinks, and service. Looking forward to going back read more

THE BAYOU has really fantastic food! Hands down. I frequent the Bayou but run into slight issues when trying to order take out. If I call and staff says they don't deliver, I usually just call back in 25 mins or so hoping that I get a staff member that will honor my order for pick-up as it states here on Yelp. Thanks for the great food-always! read more

Last night (10/20) was my first experience at The Bayou (embarrassed to say). My dear friend and I shared the gumbo, mac-n-cheese, pulled pork sandwich, braised oxtail, and beignets. Being lucky enough to have visited New Orleans a few times, my expectations were low... and was I WRONG! How wrong you ask?!?!? 1. You know THAT couple who's PDA is border line NC-17? Well, my taste buds were THAT couple last night. Every bite had my taste buds in a romantic frenzy that turned my mouth into the biggest snuggle battle ever! EVER! 2. My taste buds told me, "Hey Mike, there's no reason for you to ever go back to NO. Just bring us back to the Bayou." 3. The atmosphere is inviting and the vibe is really relaxed. Dress the way you usually dress and be who you are... but make sure you check any pretentiousness and arrogance at the door. They are not tolerated at The Bayou. No joke. The Bayou brings the taste of NO to Bethlehem. Props to our waitress Misty and the manager Kevin who made the experience even better. CAN. NOT. WAIT... to come back for the fried chicken! read more

Amazing rotating craft beer selection, equally amazing food. My favorites are the mac & cheese, crunchy black-eyed peas, shrimp & grits, corn bread, and definitely their fried chicken. The service is top notch. What I really love is seeing Mo (one of the owners) meet & greet his customers; I wear he lives there sometimes. My husband takes his employees to lunch there and makes me jealous constantly. read more

My wife and I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The food, the service, the beer, the cocktails-all excellent! We usually get the regular fried chicken, but this time we had the Nashville hot chicken and it was delicious.Very flavorful and hot,yet not overly hot.Next time(and there'll definitely be a next time),we'll try the chicken and waffles. read more

This was one of the best meals I have had. The food was phenomenal...Our server, Misty, was fantastic. She was so nice and made perfect recommendations. We ended up taking food to go just so we didnt miss out on anything. And when the manager, Steven, heard us raving about the food he came to talk with us, he was a really great guy...such a great culture there. Even the hostesses and the bar tenders seemed to be having a great time. This is going to be one of our "Go To" places for special events now (just because we dont live that close). read more

Great vibe/music. Good food. The small plates are great for sharing. Food is fresh and hot. It was our first trip but I get the feeling that the food/service is consistently good. Looking forward to trying the other one in Easton and returning to the Bethlehem location. Skip the food at the casino down the road and try this place. read more

Just got back from New Orleans and found a little New Orleans in Bethlehem PA. What a pleasant surprise! The Gumbo could compete with the Gumbo in New Orleans! It was great. I had fried chicken and waffles. The syrup was very flavorful and lightly infused with some type of liquor, possibly bourbon and not sweet at all Had the poppers and devil eggs which were very good as well. I recommend the Apple Barrel cocktail. It was very unique. My friend had the Jambalaya which he said was awesome. I wanted to try it but by the time I looked it was gone! Eaten. If you miss New Orleans the way I do every day, this is a great place substitute for creole food. The burgers looked assume as well. I highly recommend it! read more

We've been to The Bayou twice and nearly every dish we tried was amazing: Pork Belly, Fried Oysters, Hanger Steak, Oxtails, Beignets, Flash-fried Black-eyed Peas, Confit Duck Leg, and Shrimp n' Grits. So great. It's worth the trip just for the Pork Belly alone. read more

I went here with my parents and got the Oyster Po'Boy and I swear I could eat like five of them. The inside is definitely warm and inviting and the place has a lot of character. Also, if you are of drinking age, there is a drink there called the Cucumber Fizz (something along those lines). it's not cheap, but boy is it good. They have a number of options for vegetarians, meat eaters, or people who only eat fish (me) which is something I appreciate. Sometimes it isn't the first thing to come to mind when you think traditional southern food. read more

Food was good, delivered on time, the amount was less than a kids value meal at McDonald's. No adult would get full or satisfied from this meal. $24.00 including delivery fee for $12.99 meal, that added up to a small aopetize, now more than that!! read more

This place was so good. The cornbread was delicious I wish that there was more but the best part of it was the butter. It just put the whole dish above and beyond. I also had the fried chicken sandwich which was great. It is very easy to mess up but the chicken was moist crunchy and cooked to perfection. The waitress was really and nice gave great service. Would definitely come again to try something new. read more

Seriously- the food here is amazing!! The fried chicken- the grits- the cornbread- the fried green tomatoes- the Brussels sprouts- the mac'n'cheese- the beignets. The hardest thing to cope with is - every time you return, you want your favorites from last time - but you also want to try new items, and gluttony is a sin, right? Our only issue- we had a 5pm reservation. We weren't seated until well after 5:30, and we had a show at the casino at 7. We arrived late to the show. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time to expedite. Our waitress was amazing! read more

Great atmosphere and food. The buttermilk fried chicken was amazing, gumbo was on point, and my husband said his steak was delicious. Highly recommend. read more

I've been coming to this spot since it opened! I really enjoy the fried green tomatoes, and their specials are always fantastic. Drinks are made well. Haven't been to the one in Easton, but I've heard fabulous reviews! Looking forward to venturing that way to visit soon! read more

We went there for the first time with friends. Well, I'm surprised they still are in business. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere but food is a different subject. We wait over 40 min for appetizers. After then forever for main course. We took chicken, fish and pork. Chicken was pink inside, pork chop was pink and the fish was burned! They tried to fix chicken and pork but the dishes came back undercook again!!! We did not get bill. It was first time when we went Chinese please after visit in restrain. read more

We have eaten here numerous times and have done take out a few times. Each time we try to order something new from the menu and of everything we have tried there had never been anything we didn't like. It's harder and harder to order because we love everything it's so hard to choose. I will say though their wings maybe my favorite here in the area and are so under rated. If you haven't tried them you need to! read more

Good food, not so good service. We visited for the first time last Friday and had a 6:30 reservation. Our server, Tanya B., greeted us promptly and took our drink and appetizer order. Drinks came quickly but the corn bread took a bit (worth the wait). We shared the fried chicken and a side of brussel sprouts. It all tasted great, but I was a bit bothered by having to scoop the mashed sweet potatoes off the flat board the entree was served on. I didn't like the fact that they seem to use food runners, rather than having your actual server bring the items. We didn't see our server frequently enough. We were never asked if we wanted seconds on drinks, and she never offered coffee or dessert (I had to ask). We ended the night with our server and another moving tables and sweeping up around us. Apparently you're not allowed to have a two hour dinner, even when there are plenty of available tables. We took the hint and left, moving to the outside high tops, trying to talk over the loud music they piped outside. I'd return for the food, but hope for much better, more attentive, service. read more

First time at the Bayou. What a great experience. Our waitress Emily was awesome and knew what she was doing. She had a passion for her job and helped us with our selections. The shrimp and grits were terrific and the catfish was spot on delicious. Hush puppies and fried green tomatoes were a great starter. We ate so much and decided to take home the mac and cheese. ...good call Emily! Thanks for a wonderful experience! read more

Cocktails are awesome, atmosphere is great. Food is just OK. Huge portions, can share most plates. Friendly staff.

I stopped by for food a few times when The Bayou first opened, it was fine but never impressed me much. Things have settled in nicely and the staff is awesome. I find myself craving items off the menu now and stop by somewhat frequently. read more

The first time I went, it was great. Second, pretty damn disappointed. After being seated it took a good 20 mins until anyone even came to the table. I kinda felt bad for the bartender, she was both bar tending, and running around serving. Order the hush puppies because they were awesome the first time. This time, however they were burnt, literally black over-fried balls that were very dense and dry. Not even close to what they were the first time. We then ordered the orange glazed chicken wings. They were soggy, looked like they were reheated in water. It seems that that they brine their wings, but a little to much, pretty salty. The orange flavor was good and the marinated celery was nice as well. Not sure if I'll be going back for food. I want it to be great, but am afraid of the same outcome again. read more

The whole experience is so much fun. Great decor / style, staff is friendly and upbeat, food is crazy good and the drinks are on point. Mary, our server, was very fun and knew how to interact with us. Annie is THE BEST bartender around. She's so sweet. Will be back with more friends and family. read more

Pros- excellent food, creative menu, fun and inviting atmosphere Cons- working out the kinks The decor and finishings at The Bayou are on point; instantly setting a high bar for not only great food but a great experience. I was not disappointed! You can't go wrong with any of their signature items such as the mac and cheese or corn bread and the fried buttermilk chicken is AMAZING. The drink menu is creative and delicious but the liquor was a bit inconsistent drink to drink. We had a slight issue with the server not knowing our table was in her section but once rectified she was attentive and friendly. A must try if you're in the area. read more

I've been here a few times with different family members. I would go here everyday if I could. The food served is what you expect from a restaurant: way better than what can be cooked at home, in an environment that is fun and exciting. There is a reason that you need reservations here. One time we walked in at 9:00 PM and was told it would be an hour wait. If you're going for dinner, you need a reservation. I went here for lunch once and was seated right away, yet the food was just as good. I recommend the fried chicken (seriously the best I've ever had), catfish, mac and cheese, po' boys (the brisket one is awesome!)... it's all seriously amazing! My only complaint on the food was I tried the gumbo the first time I went and wasn't a fan. Perhaps my expectation on gumbo is different than what it actually is (?), or perhaps it was a bad night for the gumbo. Other than that, I haven't had one bad dish! The service is fantastic and the drinks are great. It is a little pricey, however I'd rather pay for good quality food and be happy than pay a little for substandard food. They are accommodating to children, however my child can be overly picky and isn't able to find something that she likes. We just go without her on date nights :) This is the place the LV was waiting for and it absolutely deserves all the 5-star reviews that are on Yelp. read more

I'd give a million stars if I could. Tried this place out for something different on an overnight stay in Bethlehem. The atmosphere is awesome and our waitress Misty was amazing. My husband and i shared the mac and cheese, which was out of this world, and we had the fried chicken and flank steak. Both of our meals were the best we've ever had, hands down. Even though we were stuffed, Misty had us try the beignets and WOW. If you want to try something different, you have got to try The Bayou! Our only complaint is it isn't closer to home! Thanks for an amazing meal! read more

Tried the bayou for the first time the last night of music fest. Not a lot of people there when we got there at 8 so we figured service would be pretty quick. The bar service was so slow we were only able to get one round of drinks in the two hours we were there. The kitchen was not any better taking a little over an hour to bring out our food. The place only had 4 tables being served with ours being 5 because of the festival. The manager came to our table once to talk to us and not because we asked for one but because of the look on our faces. He did not come back to our table and instead sent the waitress over to tell us we got a free desert. It was 10 pm and all we wanted to do was go home. Worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant this year. read more

Food is delicious! I got the brisket po boy and it was really tasty! Food is moderately priced and restaurant has a really cool atmosphere!
