I've had…read morememberships off and on to many different gyms over the years and this is honestly the BEST place I have ever been. I can't remember ever having this much fun getting in shape before. And so much of it is about the community here: teachers, members and truly ALL the staff. I have taken many of the classes , which are all included in the basic membership plan (except the reformer classes). Boot Camp, TRX and Work it Circuit are my top favorites for strength training and the yoga classes are among the best I've ever taken (vinyasa flow, slow flow and restorative). They have a variety of classes for different levels of fitness and goals. The mat Pilates classes are excellent too and if I need a rest from weights I will often take one of these classes. I also started personal training with Jenn Fuji about a year and a half ago. I was having issues with my shoulder that wasn't fully recovering from an injury. She helped me rehabilitate and rebuild my strength back in that shoulder and I am now free of pain and have nearly 100% of my mobility restored. She is incredibly knowledgeable and encourages me to push just beyond my comfort zone and I have gained so much strength, stamina and self confidence. And we have fun too!!! Another aspect that I really appreciate is that they are always adding new classes to spice things up- sometimes they're pop ups for a limited time and sometimes they stay in rotation. But I love that things never stay static and boring. There is truly something for everyone, so give it a try! If not now, when?

From the moment I walk through the door, it feels less like a fitness club and more like walking into my favorite place where everybody knows your name. The staff is absolutely incredible it feels like a real-life Norm from Cheers experience, lol, where you're welcomed warmly every single visit. The sense of community here is unmatched. It is a truly safe and welcoming environment for absolutely everyone, regardless of fitness level. The instructors are fantastic, knowledgeable, motivating; and they really take the time to ensure your form is correct while pushing you to your potential. I'm constantly impressed by the variety of classes offered. Whether I'm in the mood for high-intensity, strength, or something more restorative, they have it all. Plus, the clientele is wonderful so encouraging and friendly, which makes working out fun rather than a chore. I had a gym membership and even though I could workout at my own pace, I had a difficult time keeping myself motivated and coming up with new routines. Then I tried attending various "low-impact" group classes that turned out to be too strenuous. I had lost any hope of getting back into shape and began to gain more weight from eating poor quality food and living a sedentary lifestyle. Then I found Peter Hirsh and he changed my life. My boyfriend and I have been training with Peter for about 3 1/2 months now and this is the best I have felt in a really long time. I've found Pilate classes and working on a reformer has greatly improved my level of pain and actually takes it away. Consistently working the one hour session with her has improved my body composition for a better body overall. Ruthie is very knowledgeable on how to treat conditions and injuries from chronic pain with simple body movements to achieve mobility once again. At 67 years of age, some of us have different projects we work through daily.... I look forward to my weekly session with her as my new Happy Hour! She's amazing! .

I have been working with Ruthie for just over a year now, on a weekly basis. I was looking for a way build my upper and lower core to ease chronic neck pain from a car accident. When I first contacted Ruth via email, not only did she respond immediately, she provided a detailed analysis of the ways in which she might be able to offer assistance. The attention to detail has not changed since that first contact last summer. She is meticulous about planning each session to focus on ways to build upon work from previous week, while continuing to explore new ideas and challenge me physically. The most amazing part is that she is always ready to make adjustments after checking in with me at the beginning of each session. It is such a pleasure working with Ruthie - she is a fantastic personal trainer! I leave each session feeling like I have done well, made progress and learned key techniques for improving my body mechanics. Ruthie is so patient and intuitive during each session, subtly reminding me of key components of each move, reinforcing the correct alignment/positioning. During the COVID shutdown, Ruthie didn't skip a beat! She transitioned into Zoom sessions, which are amazingly effective. I must admit, I was doubtful about doing personal training via Zoom, but it has really worked well for me and she has been beyond flexible in finding a good time the works for us both. For anyone looking for a capable, knowledgeable, patient and truly amazing personal trainer - look no further. Ruthie is a gem!

I…read morewas never particularly fit, preferring to read versus playing sports or other physical activities. So, I was particularly out of shape when I got to the Strength Studio. And, I have had terrible problems with my lower back including a recent 6 month stint in a wheel chair. So, I was nervous as I started to look for someone who could hep me drop some weight and get in shape. Hector (and his team) are particularly non-judgmental and very helpful. It took some time to get into the groove of visiting the studio twice a week. But, in the end, that's the formula for a slow, patient success. I'm never going to be Joe six-pack abs, and never want to be. But I do need to be in much better physical condition. Over the course of this first year, we focused in strengthening the muscles around my lower back to take the strain off. As that started to get better, I was able to begin a gentle weight loss process. Hector is particularly great at making accomplishment possible by offering support, guidance (gently) and a great set of properly maintained and appropriately adjusted machines. I am a very happy customer.

I did a 6-session Access Bars series with Fiona and it was healing and soothing. Fiona has amazing…read moregentle and authentic energy and was so caring, insightful and kind. She worked with me to explore and find peace with two relatives that were difficult for me, who had passed away. I came to an understanding of them and was able to let go of all my complicated feelings and now I just feel love and empathy. It is so freeing. We also worked through some of the collective trauma such as fires and the pandemic. Fiona taught me practices that I use daily to reduce stress and anxiety and manage my energy in relation to other people and outside events. The practices are particularly helpful as I'm trying to fall asleep at night. I highly recommend her.

It's hard work without…read morebeing strenuous, and she is always conscientious of how the movements might affect those with injuries or weaknesses. I sought out classes which would get me moving while allowing me to explore a new dance style. Fiona's way of mixing traditional bellydance movement with cardio workouts allows us as students to build up the skill and knowledge quickly. Her classes don't include mirrors, so we can learn the Tribal method of following a leader, with the added benefit of not having to worry how we look doing so. I'm still getting used to this particular aspect, as it is wildly different from my background dancing in mirrored studios, but it's challenging in a new way, which I'm thoroughly enjoying.
