This hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed at!!! The vibe feels more young adult (I saw in some reviews that if you come with a larger family the, rooms might be a bit small). We came for our honeymoon and we had an amazing experience. The lobby itself and restaurant are all super clean and aesthetic with a pleasant la labo scent drifting around. The staff were all super nice and receptive. We did not get Sagrada Família tickets in advance as they were sold out but the hotel was able to get us tickets on our trip there. They always opened the door for us when we left and upon us entering. The room itself was super nice and clean. The bed was large (looked like a king size) and pillows and bed was VERY comfortable. We got complimentary breakfast and the food here was SO GOOD. It was honestly better than some restauraunts in the city, we were both shocked at how good the hotel food was for being hotel food. We also went to rooftop and got a drink one night and it was super romantic with a lovely night view of the city. They use le labo for shampoo conditioner soap and lotion which is super nice. All the details are super nice too and feels expensive. Highly recommend!! They also sent up champagne and a small cake for me a on my birthday.

Modern, well designed room. Roof top bar and the Punch room are excellent for drinks and good conversations. The nightly rate compared to other options was very attractive. Located next to Mercat de Santa Catarina, a great place to visit and admire the meats and seafood on display and taste some in-the-market cooking. L4 is a few minutes away so you are near public transportation. Barcelona cathedral is a block away. At night, musicians will be singing, playing to entertain tourists and locals alike. This will likely be my go to Marriott property when visiting Barcelona.

The Barcelona edition is a luxury safe haven within the bounds of the city. Service is noticeably attentive and kind from the minute you walk in the door. Even before check in, I was offered water, tea, and/or coffee. The evening turn down service was a nice surprise, complete with a handwritten note and fruit basket. When I asked for more water, plenty of boxed waters were waiting for me around the room. Unfortunately the gym and punch bar were under renovation, so I wasn't able to check it out. The restaurant bar downstairs serves food until 10:30pm; even when I was the only person in the restaurant, I didn't feel rushed. The king size bed was HEAVEN to sleep in, and I woke up feeling refreshed! I was also floored at the quality of the complimentary breakfast--it was fine dining, no continental breakfast here!

The Barcelona EDITION is in the Gothic Quarter in the old section of Barcelona. It is within walking distance of La Rambla, the main street that stretches from the marina to Catalunya Square. We booked a 3 day stay. Vlad, the doorman, greeted our taxi and offered assistance with our luggage - a really nice touch, considering that the taxi was on the opposite side of the street. Laura at the front desk greeted us with a wonderful smile and checked us in quickly and surprised us with a one class upgrade, even though our room would not be ready for a few hours. In fairness, it was 0900 in the morning, and we had just gotten off a cruise so a delay in getting into the room was expected. The room was ready for us at noon, which is as advertised for a Titanium Bonvoy Elite member. The room was small, for a luxury hotel, even in Europe. What made it an upgrade was a bump-out window with a seating area, otherwise it was the standard room. There are some nice finishes in the room such as the leather headboard and deep wood paneling but was offset by a flimsy plastic desk chair and cheap desk and stained throw carpeting. For the price of this hotel, the room was a disappointment. The bed linens were of good cotton quality, but the foam pillows were lumpy. The feather pillows were very nice. The bed felt like a discount hotel mattress. The bathroom had a large shower with rain shower head and additional wand but had no where to put anything. The sink area also lacked storage. The shower toiletries (shampoo, etc.) were from Le Labo and were of exceptionally high quality. The rooftop lounge is very nice with a beautiful view of the city or towards the beach. The drinks are nice, but the atmosphere is a bit pretentious. We arrived at the lobby one day to beautiful Brazilian Jazz. The duo was so good that we wanted to get a drink at the bar and enjoy their music. We wanted to sit on the side of the bar that allowed us to look at the entertainers, but a server was using that area to roll silverware. We asked if we could sit there, and they said NO. We moved to a seat on the other side of the bar that was in the traffic lane, only to observe a couple coming out of the elevator to sit in those exact seats. They were not waiting; they had just arrived. We felt as if we did not belong, so we left, but called Michael Osorio, the Manager on Duty. Mr. Osorio told us they were waiting for that table, which we knew was not true and offered us a table and complementary drinks. We felt so slighted by this whole experience that we turned down the offer but appreciated the gesture. The next day we waited an hour and a half for a bucket of ice after multiple calls and texts using the Marriott chat app. For the price of this hotel and the 5-star rating that they advertise I can unfortunately only give a 3-star rating. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at the Barcelona edition for three days. Great location close to food market, plazas and museums. Staff provide good recommendations and great service. Roof top bar and pool provide excellent views especially at sunset. On Wednesday night the first floor bar/restaurant had a jazz combo playing some classics (ie frank Sinatra Tony Bennett). With wine and food pairing as option. Close to museums and historic sites.

The accommodations were neat, clean and comfortable. The hotel location is central to everything- very convenient. The taxi station is on the corner if you are heading somewhere too far to walk. The staff here were absolutely amazing. We felt like family. They made our stay so enjoyable. The rooftop bar is terrific, with great tapas choices, and Nelson, Matteo, Marco took such great care of us. Downstairs, the Bar Veraz was perfect for breakfast or dinner. Again the staff, hostess Nerea, manager David Sancho and the entire staff made our time so much better! The front desk staff - Giorgio, Rodrigo, Martin, were so kind, friendly and helpful in making our stay a truly memorable one. We would definitely stay here next trip!

Had the best stay at the edition. By far one of the top stays on my list. The service was impeccable! The entire staff made our stay the best! I would stay here for the location, food and service! it's close to everything including the beach and the rooftop. The rooms are a bit small, but we had so much luggage from our travels so if we didn't have that it would be a perfect sized room. This hotel felt like a little sanctuary. I will definitely be coming back.

I would recommend you stay here, dine here, have brunch here, and I would recommend staying more than one night! This was by far the best experience I have had at a hotel EVER!! I don't know if they got trained by Will Guidara or if the management team read his book, but the experience I had at this hotel from the moment I walked in to the moment I checked out and left was by far above and beyond! 10/10 I will be back and I will tell everyone how amazing this was!!

Our hotel stay here was great. I have alot of great things to say about this hotel. First of all I love that they bring water, tea and I believe coffee to the rooms twice daily. They have a cart and inquire if you would like a beverage. This is a great touch because I surely was thirsty at about the time they came by! Second of all the reception desk gave me excellent referrals for coffee which I appreciated. Third, the bar downstairs makes great espresso and lattes. The bar has fresh water available for the public at the counter which is helpful. Fourth the public bathrooms are very clean. Fifth, the second floor bar is fire. Bartender gave me free soda water because my stomach was hurting from all the food I ate earlier. The hotel also offers turn down service before bed.

Everyone that works there is really nice from the moment you check in we were greeted which champagne. Rooms were nice and clean. The bartender downstairs was very friendly and gave recommendations. I wish I remembered his name, I think he was from Venezuela or Colombia. Highly recommend. Safe area

Centrally located in gothic quarter and yet off the main paths, this is a great home base for Barcelona excursions. With a school on one side and mercado on the other, there is a mix of locals and tourists. Room is comfortable, modern and manager sent a nice welcome gift. Roof has a small bar providing city views and a small soaking pool and space to sit out poolside to take in siesta rays of sunshine. Consider skipping hotel breakfast fare and sit down at the several local offerings next door. Friendly staff and concierge. Highly recommend!

Such a fab hotel! My husband and I just stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small but that is to be expected for a European hotel. The location is perfect- a short walk to the Gothic Quarter, the beach, Arc de Triomf, Plaza Catalunya, etc. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and we enjoyed all of amenities offered. The gym is a great size with a lot of equipment. The Punch Room on the first floor is not to be missed...swanky vibes and awesome cocktails and appetizers. Shoutout to Rita for the incredible service! The star in my opinion is the rooftop bar! Incredible views and vibes. Keep in mind there is only a very small dip pool. We will definitely be back!

The Barcelona Edition has a great location - close to public transportation and within walking distance of so many things to see (including the hop on/hop off bus stop). The staff is welcoming and helpful and seems to genuinely want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The lobby has a modern, homey feel - like you're visiting a friend. Room 603 was very comfortable with lots of electrical outlets (they will give you an adapter if you need it) and a nice bathroom. There was a window between the shower and sleeping area - which I've seen before but never really understood. Fortunately the shutters closed easily for privacy (shower time = MY time). And I always love the switches next to the bed that run the automatic shades on the window. The window seat was a nice touch too. The free WiFi was excellent and consistent. I didn't watch TV but there was a large, flat screen with cable. The restaurant area (Bar Veraz) on the main level was small but never got crowded at breakfast - they have a typical European menu, heavy on the ham and cured pork. I could easily see why this hotel is listed as a 5 star luxury hotel. With so much to see in Barcelona, I really didn't see much of the Barcelona Edition - they have a roof top bar and restaurant, a cocktail themed restaurant (Punch Room) and a basement Cabaret that I never got to. That just might be reason enough to definitely go back.

Stayed here at the end of a work trip for four days…read more The Good Great location within walking distance of anything and everything. Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

The location is truly unbeatable - just a block away from Plaça de Catalunya, a couple of blocks from a major metro stop and several main bus lines, a few blocks from great shopping and with good casual food scattered throughout. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. The room was spacious and modern. We slept well in their comfortable king bed. We were given slippers and a bathrobe along with the typical amenities like hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was even a bathroom scale! Something I rarely see in hotel rooms these days. Our package deal included breakfast at their daily buffet. And it's one of the better buffets that actually has a made-to-order-eggs table. I love that there's a personal chef for those who like their eggs a certain way. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.
