Stayed here for four nights on a recent trip to Barcelona and it was truly excellent. It's a boutique hotel tucked into a side street of Plaça de Catalunya. The location is truly unbeatable - just a block away from Plaça de Catalunya, a couple of blocks from a major metro stop and several main bus lines, a few blocks from great shopping and with good casual food scattered throughout. It's a great central spot for sightseeing where you're primarily relying on public transit, but also quiet and safe if traveling solo. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. Experienced Pulitzer Barcelona briefly for the gym. When staying at Hotel Regina, you have to go next door to Pulitzer Barcelona for the gym. Pretty solid gym. From resistance perspective, includes dumbbells, open rack, and a cable machine. Water machine with disposable cups. Solid lineup for all the essentials and enough weight for a great workout. Very aesthetic gym vibe. read more

Pulitzer has a fantastic location in central Spain. Extremely close to all of the shopping you can imagine and fantastic restaurants. Now, as for the hotel... The last time we travelled to Barcelona we were in the Gothic Quarter, my chief complaint was while it was a nice hotel the beds were rock hard. Pulitzer Hotel's beds were a dream come true and soft as can be. The staff is extremely kind and the wonderful people at the bar were kind enough to fill my water bottle with ice every morning. The decor of the hotel is very forward thinking and as far as hotels go, I think Pulitzer is my new favorite in Europe. read more

Recently visited Barcelona and chose this hotel due to the proximity to the city center and all the attractions nearby. Didn't want to venture too far away for the necessities, so figured a central location was best. This hotel fit that bill. Additionally, I also took advantage of coming back here to take a break during the middle of the day and it's easier doing so with a hotel that's centrally located. When you enter, there's a small reception to your left and the proper lobby to your right that leads into the bar and a lounge area to do work and such. This hotel attracts business travelers and Americans alike, so be on the lookout for them. Not hard to find! I used to come down here to enjoy the vibes a bit to wrap up the night or to relax a bit during the afternoons. I spent a little extra on a room with a balcony and got it. Truth be told, the balcony is so small it may not be worth it, but at least you can see the city center to your right. Room is of a decent size with a sitting area and good size bed. Didn't have an issue with sleep. There are a few power outlets, but they're a bit weirdly located under the nightstands so make sure you keep some of those smaller adapters as your big charging blocks (universal adapters) won't really fit in there. Also, there aren't any USB ports, so plan accordingly. Bathroom was clean and had that signature blue tiles. There's also a window which you can open after showering. You have a proper tub with a half-glass. Only nuisance with this is that you'd still have water spill over after showering. That was a bit of a nuisance. Each floor has a spot to refill your water bottles. They give you a large container which you can fill up at your pleasure. The water bottles in the mini-fridge are not free, as well as everything else in there. The rooftop seems cool, but it was never open whenever I was there. Oh well. read more

This location can't be beat! Just around the corner to Las Ramblas and Placa de Catalunya, this hotel is centrally located and perfect for our first trip to Barcelona. The room and bed were decent sized, and clean. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We are here end of Feb 2023 (off season) and our room with balcony was just shy of $160 per night. read more

This is a hotel that also has a rooftop bar/restaurant. The rooftop is lovely. It has a really cool vibe with a variety of tables, chairs and sofas. It's a great place to hang out and meet up with friends. Their sangria was great. It had a cinnamon flare, which I loved. They have a variety of food options too, although it isn't the most extensive that you'll find other places. Later in the evening, the terraza turns into a night club vibe with a DJ. read more

Pros: location, cleanliness, service, rooftop bar This week was my first time staying in Barcelona and the Hotel Pulitzer made it very easy. The hotel is located steps away from the city center of catalunya so it couldn't be more convenient and easier to get to from the Aerobus stop from the airport. The design and decor is modern and comfortable. Rooms are standard size for Barca which is smaller than the US but more than enough. Malin & Goetz amenities were on point. Only downside is that the shower design, while very cool & chic, makes it impossible not to create a mini hurricane-like splash zone in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast food was high quality with great service. The rooftop bar and lobby bar are also comfortable, well designed and chill. To top it off, the service was excellent with great maid service, friendly front desk staff, and very approachable waitstaff/bartenders. Definitely recommended! Hot tip: go to the rooftop bar for happy hour. Try to get a street facing balcony room, street noise is not bad at all and people watching is fun read more

I stayed at the Pultizer Barcelona for a couple of nights. I arrived after midnight from the airport and check in was super smooth. I was up to my room in no time. The rooms are nice, the tile in the bathroom is probably the most impressive. I was provided with a couple of small bottles of water but on my second evening there I called down to the front desk to ask if water and coffee were out for guests on a certain floor and was told no, I asked if I could have a small bottle brought up and was then connected to room service who said it would be 5 euro. This was probably one of my biggest pet peeves with this hotel, as the other hotel I had just stayed at around the corner had a floor dedicated to light snackies with coffee and water out 24/7 for their guests in addition to a very large morning breakfast. Pultizer does not have any of this. I later went out for a late dinner and picked up 2 bottles for 3 euro so I'd suggest coming with water, if you plan on staying hydrated because they surely won't help you in this department. The front desk staff are all friendly and helpful, welcoming with warm smiles which is always nice when you're in a new city. I asked about a map and some highlights my first morning, as I was going to take myself on a self guided walking tour after deciding I wanted to sleep in a bit and missed the walking tour I'd signed up for. They pointed out several destinations and how to easily walk to them. I had the best day out exploring and came back mid day to drop off some shopping then went out again via the metro. I didn't eat in the restaurant but I did have a quick free welcome glass of red wine at the bar. All in all this is a nice hotel but I'd like if they offered breakfast with your stay and if they kept water out on the bar for hotel guests to have throughout their stay. I wouldn't rule out staying here again, and they are located in a great bustling area where the A1 and A2 bus also pick up and drop off from, making it a breeze to get back to the airport. read more

We found this hotel after we discovered that the first hotel we booked (H10 Marina) had rooms where the guests could not control the AC (it was controlled centrally by the hotel, and NOT adjustable!). The weather when we were there (July) was quite hot (90s) and the temp setting would only go down to 21*C (70), which was not enough to cool the room at night. No bueno. I looked on Yelp and found The Pulitzer Hotel. I called to make sure we could control the AC, and they said "Of course!" We came over immediately and were very happy we did. The location is fantastic- central to the hustle and bustle of the main part of the city, and right off Catalunya Plaza. You can walk to so many great shops and restaurants from this hotel. The street itself is pretty quiet, considering it is in the center of everything. There are always taxis waiting right out front, which is very convenient. The hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. The rooms were small, as is normal in europe, but very clean and charming. Our room had a balcony (I recommend)- great for a cup of coffee in the morning watching the action on the street down below. We did end up extending our stay in Barcelona, and stayed two nights next door at the Regina (their sister hotel), which was not as nice. We will definitely stay at the Pulitzer the next time we are in Barcelona! read more

Three nights here, paid for with points I earned on my Chase Sapphire card. The location is top notch, a block away from Plaça de Catalunya. This is a high-end European style hotel. My room was smallish but still comfortable. I arrived early and checked-in at noon. My room wasn't ready yet but I was offered a different room if I did not want to wait until the regular check in time. So instead of one large bed, I had two double beds pushed together. And really, that was fine. After a long flight, I just wanted a shower and then a nap. So that's not a complaint - it was great that they were flexible. The room was a little small but still managed to fit in most of the main things you need for a hotel room. A large comfortable shower (3/4 glass door), large vanity in the bathroom, plenty of storage for suitcase and clothing, a mini-safe and a coffee service tray with a hot water heater. One comfortable chair but no work desk. Two large glass doors that opened inwards with a lovely view of the street. The room was very quiet despite being in downtown of a large city. No noise from neighbors and on the 5th floor, no noise from upstairs or the hallway. The housekeeping team did a very nice job of resetting the room each day. Hotel staff were very nice and efficient. Everyone spoke terrific English and they did have a European power adapter for my cell phone. I did not visit the bar and I did not add the breakfast to my room rate. There's plenty nearby, so why get locked in to breakfast here? I would stay at this hotel again for my next visit to Barcelona. read more

From the reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, I expected this place to be so much more. In fact, they even made it sound like it was an apartment than a hotel, but to my dismay, it was a hotel, a 3 star one at that. For one, it's in the center of everything, which makes it great, but if you're new to the area, it's not very easy to find. We wanted to check out the roof deck bar but every night we were back, it was closed, it closes around like 10pm, very early if you ask me, considering Barcelona doesn't start serving dinner until 8pm. Our room wasn't anything impressive, a simple bed, they put up the baby cot for our kids and it was wooden floors with an armoire and tv. Free wifi was nice, but there wasn't much else to it. My husband told the concierge when we checked in that it was my birthday, so the next day, I got back from touring around Barcelona with some baked brownies and some cut up grapes with a paper that says "happy birthday" on it. It was a nice little touch they added there. Our view was nothing more than a roof top of another building right next to it, so nothing to rave about. We decided to get breakfast at the restaurant downstairs the last night, and it was a buffet of foods, but it wasn't included in our hotel stay, so we had to pay about $32 for the 4 of us, honestly wasn't worth the price. read more

I've been to Barcelona a few times and stayed the entire time at this chic boutique hotel. It was conveniently located half a block away from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. Just minutes away from the tour buses pickup and other public transportation. They served a hearty breakfast buffet in their in-house restaurant, happy hour at their beautiful rooftop area, small courtyard, bar lounge and a very cozy sitting/meeting area. Just like any European hotel, the room was small but it was very clean, the design was minimal and chic but the bathroom was nice and roomy, equipped with quality essentials. Very nice, clean and in the center of everything! This is a great hotel in the middle of all the action, close to the metro and the city tour bus. Just a short walk to restaurants, the open markets, night life, the pier, the heart of Barcelona. The rooms are great, they have free WiFi, there's a Starbucks less than a couple minutes away, nice bathrooms, very urban views from your tiny balcony, temperature control is wonderful. Blackout curtains to sleep in. There's a his and hers toiletry set (love high quality toiletries - I have a fetish for mini toiletries) with all the essentials that you may have forgotten to pack. Oh yea, the price was right. I believe it was 400€ for the three nights over the weekend. 30 minute taxi ride to the airport. There's a restaurant and bar but sadly we didn't try out either. We were eager to explore the city since we were only here for the weekend. Not sure but I think this place definitely falls in the four star, if not more, category. This is a very chic hotel in the perfect location for a tourist, yet on a side street so very quiet. Between metro stops Universitat & Catalunya. The front dest very knowledgeable, booked reservations and had a picnic breakfast made for us, for we had a 6am flight. The room had every amenity you needed. The Wi-fi was speedy and no need for passcode. I don't know why others complained it? The breakfast was a huge breakfast buffet, not like others in Spain. Had many employees working and continually replenishing it. I have only 1 complain about this hotel and it was the pillows and comforter, they were a foam , not down! I've stayed at this hotel a few times now, and continue to be very pleased with it. It's in a great location (right off Las Ramblas near Plaza Cataluña, on a safe, quiet side street), the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and pretty (although not large...it IS Europe, after all), they have both a lobby bar and a cool rooftop bar, the breakfast available as an add-on is well worth the price, and the fabulous water pressure in the shower is worth a star, just on its own!! My only complaint is that the hotel doesn't have a gym, and although there is a neighborhood gym nearby, there is a per-diem charge for hotel guests to use it. (C'mon. Work a deal, Pulitzer!!) Other than that...I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better hotel in Barcelona at such a reasonable price. Sweet dreams! read more

Really cute boutique hotel right off the corner of Placa Catalunya. The inside is gorgeous and the decor is very chic. This isn't the biggest hotel, or the nicest around, but for the price and location it is unbeatable ($150 a night during prime tourist season if you book early). The entrance is really tiny and easy to miss; it's right next to Hotel Regina. Walking distance from Las Ramblas, right next to tons of metro lines, and across the street from TopShop. Perfect central location with chic rooms with balconies overlooking C/ Bergara. big bathroom (by European standards). Nifty packaged amenities are replenished daily (toothpaste, shave cream, etc.). Internet was spotty, but then I was chugging out some heavy e-mails for work. The lobby bar "living room" is great place to start your evening or rest your tired feet after a day of sightseeing. The small plates are very tasty (get the salmon crepe, smoky and creamy). Great cocktails (most are 10 euros, but the cava is a nice affordable alternative). And of course the good looking, sweet, and attentive staff make the experience truly wonderful. I plan to return to Barcelona again and again, and the Hotel Pulitzer will always feel like home. read more

Great location, modest room negatives I would probably stay at this hotel on my next visit to Barcelona based on its convenient location and polite staff. It's on a relatively quiet street that feeds into the square at the center of the city, Placa de Catalunya. We don't spend a lot of time in our room when we are on holiday. Having said that, there are modest negatives. This hotel was probably very trendy 20 years ago and sometimes things that were once design forward don't stand the test of time. There was a big cube of functionless furniture but no desk -- which might be a problem for those in Barcelona for business or those who, despite being "on holiday", have to stay in touch online and spend some time on their laptop. Beds were comfortable but the lighting system was weird. The reading lamp on one side of the bed could be turned off only by turning off all lights in the room. (Oddly the lamp on the other side could be switched on and off independently. It meant that whoever planned to read after the other was ready to sleep took that side of the bed!) Finally only very tiny bottles of water were provided (and one of the three nights we stayed in the hotel these were not replenished). Note to management: This should be easy to fix. read more

Located near the Catlunya Square, this hotel in near a lot of sites within walking distance and the hop-on, hop-off buses. Take the "free walking tour" early to get the most out of your visit. Very convenient, metro and airport bus within 5 minute walk, Rambla right there, walking distance to seashore. Room very clean, well equipped if smallish. Rooftop bar is a must; great ambiance, frequent live entertainment, great for people watching, and service is amazingly smooth for such a busy space. Food is OK, but expensive; go eat in one the countless cafes or tapas bars in the immediate area, especially the Old Quarter. Breakfast at Pinotxos at the Boqueria; it's a 10 minute walk! read more

This hotel was lovely. The staff is very nice, but can not speak English well. The hotel ensure the purity of the hotel. Our room was cleaned every day and the bed was made up. The hotel is not drinking water. All Spaniards have a problem with drinking water. Water is bought in the shop and drinking water are actually saving.This Barcelona hotel has a beach but also two swimming pools with drinking and the other with salty water. On the beach were big waves. For our safety, I prefer to bathe in the swimming pool. Our breakfast was perfect. All of what we remembered we had. Dinner was fried but also healthy, I could eat. The restaurant offers a lot of vegetables and fruits. This Barcelona hotel was amazing. read more
