The hotel location is absolutely perfect. The staff were very knowledgeable and multilingual. The breakfast which was included with my Deihl was spectacular. The rooftop pool sitting area and a restaurant is unmatched. The bed and room were very comfy with great coffee, towels etc. Honestly, no complaints and many compliments.

This is where you want to stay when visiting Barcelona. And this is the only place we will stay for every future visit. They knocked it out of the park from the first minute. Check in was easy and they hurried to get our room ready since we arrived at 9 am. I think they had us in our room by noon. They brought our bags to our room and we puttered around the city but after traveling and being awake for 40 hours- we fell asleep at 7 pm. There was a knock on the door right before we got into bed and it was the concierge with a gift of figs. There were enormous complimentary water bottles next to each side of the bed. Replaced daily. Even though we fell asleep early the first night- we were on the move daily. Our bed was made daily with fresh linen and fresh towels provided. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. There are so many choices and selections ranging from fried/scrambled eggs and bacon to assortment of cheeses, mini breakfast sandwiches, assorted breads and muffins along with cookies, waffles and pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal and more. Fresh juices and amazing coffee. Something for everyone and unlimited and ranged from 7 am to 11 am. Being new to the city- we weren't sure of the best places to eat or where we should see other than the main attractions we had pre-bought tickets for. We were given amazing recommendations and had reservations made for us. We even were given a tip to hop on a train and head to one of the coastal towns about 40 minutes outside the city. A beautiful coastal town with 9 beaches we escaped to for the day. The hotel is cleaner than any other place we have stayed- and we travel a lot. There are automatic black out blinds you can lower with a click of the switch and we have never slept so well or so late. Comfortable bed and pillows and beautiful bathroom. Stocked mini bar and fridge. We reluctantly left for the airport at 5:30 am. Not only did the front have a cab waiting for us- they packed us a breakfast bag because we wouldn't have time to eat at the hotel. A nice ham sandwich on baguette and oj, water, yogurt, breakfast bar and apple. I will miss our hotel and their amazing staff most of all. Thank you to Grand Hotel Central for everything. And- it is in the best location ever.

There's nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The entire staff always have a smile on their face and are always willing to help. We were checked in by Irene and were assisted to our room by Victor. Both of them were friendly, professional, and polite. The rest of the staff were equally amazing, I just forgot their names. My apologies. Although there wasn't any junior suite available at the time of our check-in, we were given a corner room, which was perfect. The toiletries and linens were luxurious (The only issue I had was with the lotion. It curdled. I don't know what's up with that) I found the bed very comfortable for my back. It was somewhat firm. The room was a good size. The bathroom; acceptable size as well, although it would've been better if we had a separate shower. It's not a big deal, nevertheless. They have a turn down service. And of course, bottled water every day for elite members. We had a tiny issue with the lights because of all the mix and matching of the lights switch. It was so confusing that we couldn't get the hallway light to turn on. But thanks to the assistance of one of the staff, it was sorted out right away. The rooftop bar and infinity pool are epic. Too bad, I only got to see it during the daytime (because we spent our days exploring the city that we forgot about the hotel). The view up top is probably spectacular in the evening. Complimentary breakfast every day (for elite members) at Bistro Helena was satisfying. We had to skip a couple, though, due to our hectic schedule. If I were to visit Barcelona again, this would definitely be at the top of my list. Highly recommended!

Spain, country known for rooftops! There's so many and by far I think this one is worth visiting. Drinks were delicious and view wasn't so bad either. Hard to find but once in we didn't leave.

I stayed at this hotel for about a week during my stay at Barcelona, and I absolutely loved every second of it. I remember the first day I checked in. I decided to walk 1-2 miles from my previous hotel near La Sagrada Familia all the way to the gothic quarter (where Grand Hotel is located). Halfway thru the hike, I realized I made a terrible mistake, especially considering that I was lugging my heavy backpack and a suitcase.. WITH a Fanny pack AND an FC Barca jersey on (can not get more touristy). After 40+ minutes of walking, I made it. Sweating and heaving as I walked in the door. The staff immediately greeted me with cold water and an espresso. The building itself is a beautiful old renovated building with marble staircases, a nice lounge area, and a cozy restaurant. After I checked in, the staff escorted me to my room and explained all the features and offered recommendations. The location of this place is amazing - I could see the Barcelona cathedral outside my window. And I was right in the heart of the historic gothic quarter, what a beautiful place. The room itself was huge - large windows, big bed, tall ceilings, a powder room, and a large bathroom area. Everything was super modern and clean. The rooftop bar is pretty awesome too. It's a bit small for the size of the hotel, especially the infinity pool. But the vibes are phenomenal. Good music, good food, good people. I wish the pool stayed open past 7PM, would be nice to go for a late night dip! Awesome place - made my trip very memorable. 5/5

Beautiful fun hotel centrally located to everything in Barcelona. Wonderfully appointed rooms, lobby and restaurant for night time dining. The breakfast offerings were exceptional. Topping it all off were the views from the rooftop pool and the pool itself, perfect way to spend part of the day or evening. Enjoy!

Wow this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. And I have stayed at a lot of at first I was a little anxious due to the construction but they are the most accommodating hotel I have ever encountered. They checked us in even though we had just booked minutes before at like 1 in the morning. I booked a suite but they did not have it but they were able to accommodate and I was very grateful I don't even care how much the room cost. At the end of the stay I got a flat tire and they were able to check me out at 2:30 which is unheard AND I forgot my shoes and they sent me this email stating they would ship them. My experience was jadropping and I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS BUT I JUST HAD TO LEAVE THIS for this hotel. Not to mention how nice staff was if you're thinking of staying here and thinking the price is high it'll be worth it !!

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.
