I swore I would never belong to a gym. I have built up a small gyms worth of equipment over the past 20 years, and was able to get "OK" workouts. What could I do at a gym that I could not do at home? I got intrigued by watching the crossfit games on ESPN and decided to at least go check out a class. Now, I couldn't imagine myself ever NOT belonging to Crossfit Macomb. I have been going for almost a year now, and have made gains that I didn't think possible of an almost 40 year old. I stopped having gains from my basement workouts, and was constantly injured or hurt. Since going to CFM he past year I have been injury free, and I attribute that to the CFM trainers.
The trainers there are incredible. They take the time to get to know you, but more importantly they take the time to teach you. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable, but I have learned so much in the past year. They are meticulous at teaching your proper form and technique. Always giving little tips, pointers, and spot checking you before and during the workout. I feel this has helped my old joints and muscles avoid injury, especially since the weights I am lifting increase each month.
We just finished the open (which I was talked into entering by the trainers) and it was one of the best experiences I have had. I pushed myself beyond what I thought I was capable of, and it has given me even more motivation to improve for next years open.
CFM has changed my whole perspective on fitness, and I have become overall a much healthy person. I have to agree that I feel as if I am part of the CFM family.
Anyone at any skill level, fitness level, or age, can do crossfit. The trainers here are good at helping you "scale" a workout to your ability. All you need to do is ask. But if you are looking for them to push you, they will do that, while making sure your form is still good. If you are willing to listen, they will help you lift weights you never thought possible.
If you are looking for something that can increase all around fitness and not just
cardio or weights I can say come give CFM a try. If you stick with it, it will change your life. Www.crossfitmacomb.com read more
