I started with Class Action Fitness thinking it would be like past routines flirting with the gym…read more I'd work out for a few weeks - maybe a few months - overdo it, stop and revert to couch potato physique. There is no way Claire would let that happen. Her knowledge and concern for her clients are both exemplary. Over the past year, I've done one on one training, small group fitness sessions and a couple of massages at Class Action and have been extremely happy with all of it. I always feel I've gotten more than my money's worth with Claire and her staff. If you want gizmos or pickup lines, try the big box club. If you want to work out with great guidance, expertise and with a small group of good people, check out Class Action Fitness.

Best massages I've ever had!!…read more Ineta is the best there is! All of my massages are nothing short of perfection, and I am always left happy and relaxed :) Another thing I love about Class Action is their customer service. I am HUGE on customer service, and I rarely write reviews unless I've had an outstanding experience. I had purchased a Groupon for a 90-minute hot stone, and I ended up getting a 70-minute deep tissue instead. Don't get me wrong, the massage I got was incredible, and I also probably should have said something right away, but having grown up in the business industry (my dad owns a restaurant), I find that as a business owner, you want to know those types of things. So I contacted Clare just to inform her about what happened (I was maybe expecting a slight discount on my next massage), but she ended up giving me a complimentary 90-minute massage. She was so genuine, and that far exceeded my expectations. I was so grateful that she did that for me. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Class Action Fitness for massages. Ineta does an amazing job, and both Clare and Ineta are absolute gems.

The classes are fun and always different so you should not get bored. It is pricey but worth it. My only complaint is that this is not the sort of gym you can just drop in to for some light cardio or to do your own thing. They have plenty of weight loss classes but any additional training has to be scheduled with a trainer. It is perfect to ensure accountability but for me, sometimes I just want to be left alone to work out at my own pace and I cannot afford two gym memberships. I recently put a freeze on my membership at AFS to join a gym for the winter but I know will find my way back in the spring, if not before.

The Lifetime Fitness are generally excellent…read more The way Lifetime Fitness (particularly Rochester Hills) is run is fraudulent and incompetent. Lifetime Fitness double books their spaces (gym, pools). They may charge you extra to use certain amenities (e.g., outdoor pools) You pay a HUGE monthly fee. Then, during peak hours, they rent out that space for classes, parties, swim teams, and more. If they can find any reason to close the amenity early (sometimes they skip contriving a reason) they close it early. When it is open they unevenly enforce the rules. For example, in the lap pool if your child who is 13 swims laps with you they will harass you endlessly, inquiring if your child is REALLY over 12. If your child touches the lane line the guards will blow their whistles. But if a gang of kids obviously under 12 takes over several lanes of the pool, sits on the lane lines, blocks other lanes, and disrupts the areas the guards do nothing. On the weight machines members will sit on one for a half and hour straight watching videos on their phone. The staff will not ask those members to move on. Working out in the weight room is a frustrating experience.
