We visited for tea with some adults and children this weekend…read more The room near the patio is gorgeous (the inner room is more on the cozy side). We were quickly seated with a reservation and the tables were lovely - gorgeous wedgewood china (even for the kids!). Greeted with prosecco for adults and sparkling juice for the kids. Service was really friendly and helpful with tea selections. There are about 4 options for children if they want tea as well. Food was good and there was a tower for the kids (their the older child at our table wanted the adult sandwiches...). Plenty of sandwiches and sweets. The scone actually was the standout though - orange cranberry - very soft and delicious. Customary lemon curd, jelly and cream - delicious. All in all, this was a nice, fancy time for tea but there were some negatives namely: no one ever asked if we wanted more drinks (I would have had a glass of champagne but no one returned or asked - I could have flagged someone down but was surprised at this level of hotel that service wasn't so helpful). We also felt rushed - I would have stayed longer to enjoy but get they were cleaning up our table quickly. Instead, we brought some of the treats to go. While the staff was friendly, they weren't really there a lot - I saw some tables get asked if they wanted more sandwiches - but we did not... and it wasn't because we had kids at the table because I'd say at the time we went, more than 50% of the tables had kids with them. We did get a nice little to go gift of tea, chocolate and a tea strainer. I'm conflicted upon returning just due to feeling rushed.... I always go for tea once a year at least and I've been to every fancy hotel in the city (and other restaurants) for tea and multiple hotels in Europe (Ireland, England) and this was the most European feeling but really felt less relaxed even though the surroundings were gorgeous.

Ordered the tomato bisque which was very tasty. Hubby ordered the French onion soup which is just ok per my hubby who has French onion everywhere we go. Ordered the Mushroom rosotto which was ok. Needed a little more liquid. Very tasty. Hubby had the duck which he said was tough. Will not be back. Too many wonderful restaurants in this city.

She was spot on with her familiarity and description of the dishes we we ordered. The establishment was nice and clean and had a mid century modern feel to it. I can only hope to make a dish like Amish chicken some day, the way the green tied into every bite of my perfectly cooked chicken had me wanting more. I also tried the gnocchi which was amazing best I've had, and also fish and chips had the perfect crispy battering and seasoning. Five starts all around. Thank you! We each ordered drinks and enjoyed those also. Nothing else I can say besides go have some awesome food! Dined in 11/22/2025 @8pm

The restaurant sits in a tiny strip on a very cool looking street. The hostess sat us quickly to the left of the restaurant, a little strip of booth style tables. The lights above the table were not lit. Phone flashlights were needed to see the menu (old folks). Time was 5:30pm. Unsure why, but we had the bartender as our server (Fred). He was lights out! Food. I had the skirt steak. It was ok. The amount of salsa accoutrement was too much, it was the only thing on the plate and matched the length of the steak. The salsa alongside the steak you could tell was not fresh, it had a dull grayish look to it, with no fresh vibrance to it. The potatoes on the side were ok, probably more suited alongside the steak. Overall I'd say, if the middle of the Shepards Pie was cold that tells me it's not fresh made to order, and the not so fresh salsa, they just need to tighten up. I think it's very close to a top notch restaurant in a sought after neighborhood.

The atmosphere is exactly what I was hoping for, and it was perfect with a very eclectic music playing throughout. I was helped by Jenni at the bar and she was fantastic. She introduced herself, and didn't skip a beat. I didn't have to wait long to order a beer (of which they have MANY), a she even gave me her opinion on an appetizer choice. Throughout the entire time there she checked on me regularly but not in a way that was almost too much. For my appetizer I had the Four Cheese Spinach Dip, and that was a solid recommendation I took from my bartender. Very glad that I did, great rich taste and not too heavy which was phenomenal. Lastly, I decided to get a pizza since it was happy hour which take note that most if not all their appetizers and pizzas are on the 3-6 PM happy hour menu, so take advantage. I got 'The Carnivore' , and it had a a nice, savory, meaty taste. The pizza was perfectly baked, the dough was fresh and I have NO complaints. So whether you are a local, or a traveling out of towner like me I HIGHLY recommend Yard House. I know it's a franchise, but it honestly didn't feel like one. It felt real, authentic & fun. Also this is a craft beer lovers paradise. Literally they have wrap around beer taps.

The cuisine is modern and playful and focuses on local ingredients. I was intrigued by, but did not order, the Something from Land or Air or Something from Water, which I take to mean the chef prepares something fresh, local and what is tastiest for the season. We shared the Warm Hand Made Bread Service (creme fraiche goats butter, roasted pecan hummus and matcha sesame butter) and Crispy Mushrooms (dusted with matcha, sesame togarashi black garlic aioli) from the Small or Snacky section. I had the Inovasi burger (1/3 lb CDK Farms beef) and my companions had the Grilled Ocean Raised Salmon. My burger had a good flavor but they cooked it well done instead of medium. Fries were good. We started out with some bread, butter, and cheese. The bread was fresh, the butter was soft and salty, and the cheese selection was varied and high quality. Our waiter was likely quite new, as he struggled with many of our questions. A couple of items were forgotten upon our original order, and we had to ask a few times about missing items. This was unfortunately frustrating and took away some from our enjoyment of the meal. The food was hit or miss! While the pork belly, market fish, and fries were fantastic, the burger was terribly under-seasoned/over-grilled, the shrimp was a bit fishy and chewy, and the giardiniera lacked any spice. We also found the vibes a bit strange. While the lights were low and the interior had an intimate date-night feel, there were also multiple TVs on playing football games which gave it a sports bar feel. I'd be curious to come again on a Thursday-Sunday evening to see how things might be different!

Our server Chad explained the menu in detail, offered recommendations, and took great pride in the restaurant. Everything is made from scratch, and they have a beautiful open kitchen. We started with the octopus, which our friends and Chad both recommended, and it lived up to the hype. They sous vide it so it's super tender, then crisp it for that little crunch you want in an octopus appetizer. The romesco and chorizo combo had us scraping the plate clean. For dinner, my husband had the hanger steak served with a large bone filled with bone marrow, along with brioche, truffle butter, and the Aligot and Brussels sprouts for sides. The Brussels and butternut squash were sweet, spicy, crispy, and salty - just amazing. I had the monkfish, which is very similar to lobster, and it was delicious! For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée, and like everything else we ate tonight, we left no crumbs. We can't wait to go back!
