Dublin, Ireland, one of my favorite cities in the world. Dublin has a coffee culture all its own. A lot of small coffee shops with outstanding Barista's. They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. At The Bald Barista I ordered and espresso in the late afternoon for a jolt to get me through the evening. I watched the Barista grind the coffee, tamp it, but never weigh it. The watched the shot get pulled, the espresso started to flow almost immediately and the shot was done pulling in about 10 seconds, clearly the espresso was not dialed properly and the taste of the espresso also said so, clearly under extracted. I walked out of the shop took a sip and thought it out. Customer service was fine but the coffee was not. not a one star but 2 is giving more than deserved... maybe 1.5.

Carrying on the good humour and great coffee of their larger Auginer st location, The Bald Barista on Harcourt Street makes for the best "Hey I know a great place for coffee" this end of the LUAS. Already a must for java heads, the shop's few seats get filled in the afternoons with local workers lunching on the soups, sambos and other delicious (and good for you) offerings. It's pretty affordable for lunch on the go: €6 and change gets you a soup and sammy combo, €5.95 lands a savoury sambo and piping hot coffee to go. Looking for a nibble on Harcourt street? Skip the bagels and Bucky's and stop in to The Baldy on the corner.

If you know me, you know the crucial role that coffee plays in my everyday life. It's a feat of courage to talk to me in the morning before my cup of joe and my boyfriend, family, friends, coworkers will attest to this; so it's great that the folks at The Bald Barista already know my order before it comes out of my mouth. I cannot say enough good things about this place, but I will definitely try to in this post. The Bald Barista has a location near St. Stephen's Green Luas stop and is so convenient, it would be rude, nay stupid, not to stop off for my morning coffee. Now on to the coffee. This place has the BEST coffee in Dublin. As a slave to a coffee fuelled caffeine addiction I can say this with confidence. I have to say the popular java chains just don't do coffee like this place. I recommend any coffee with a pear & vanilla scone.

Most people say the best thing about this place is the coffee. While it's true the coffee is outstanding, it's actually only the second best thing. The BEST thing is Jenna, the wild American woman behind the counter who MAKES the coffee. Talking to her is like getting your own private broadway show, except she greets you like an old friend. Unless you actually are an old friend, in which case you get sent to the back of the queue because the customers always come first with Jenna. She is an American, after all. Walking into this tiny coffee shop is like walking into a Woody Allen movie. You have to go and see it to believe it.

Had a delicious breakfast over here. Excellent americano coffee with some pastries. Also had the traditional Irish breakfast and it was great. Can't go wrong for the price!

Oh my God! Where have you been all my life!! The Bald Barista is hands down, easily, the best espresso in town. There really is nowhere better, I mean seriously like, if you're not going to believe it then I'm going to continue gushing about it, in this camp way, until you try it. I am, like, super-psyched, and not just a little jittery, to have this new little version of The Bald Barista open near to my place of work, it means I can just nip out of the office up to four, or even five times a day, for a delicious double cafe macchiato.

No, nope, never, don't, not worth it, move along... With so many awesome places to grab a mighty cup of coffee these days I can't accept the Bald Barista. I was ealking by with a friend, he wanted a coffee and I knew, I had tried this place before and was not happy one bit, anyway he insisted he needed a coffee intake stat so off we went in... Again, it was regrettable and my friend agrees! Coffee is never on point, milk is never textured properly... what's with the chocolate syrup? Need I say more!

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

The first day we arrived to Dublin, I had a bit of a headache. I sent my husband in search of coffee and a bite in the hopes of warding off the headache. He brought back a tuna melt and mocha from The Bald Barista. Both were excellent. The tuna melt was herbaceous and flavorful and the mocha was the perfect blend or rich chocolate and strong espresso. So, a few days later when my mom arrived and was hoping for coffee and a bite, I said--I've got just the place! On that visit, we enjoyed our coffee and food in house. You order at the counter where you enter and if you're dining in, you simply take the stairs to the dining room and they'll bring you both your food and coffee. This time, I ordered the same coffee (why mess with a good thing) and a yogurt with everything (fruit, nuts, seeds--the works!). The shop itself is cute, warm, and inviting. The service is top notch with beautifully friendly folks working in here (including the Bald Barista himself). If you're in Dublin and are looking for an exemplary cuppa and some tasty bites served with a smile--this is your spot. Get to it!

I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. I was unfamiliar so afterward I looked them up. here is the link if anyone is interested. (https://mccabecoffee.com) Local award winning Cork roaster. I watched the Barista, fill the grinder and then told me it would be a minute as she needed to dial in the espresso. I shook my head in a circle like I didn't get it but okay. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN. I am breaking my own rule here, I can because they are my rules, they don't roast but they use fantastic local Micro-roasted beans and prepare my drink to perfection. Don't miss this little gem the in Dublin. 5 Stars.
